Supports the following symbols:

Which include APPLE, UNITED STATES BRENT OIL FUND, ALPHABET, TESLA INC, etc
Don't forget to read the use terms if you decide to use it, you must explicitly say IEX is the feed source, cant add extra fees, etc

We need to focus on USD and CNY liquidity first, but we can provide a set of new products now. This is good news. @xeroc @Stan @alt @JonnyBitcoin @bitcrab @Chris4210 @abit @Bhuz @clayop sorry if i left anyone else out but i think most the committee or develops tools is here. Thought this was important since I remember way back then BitShares not having live free feeds to use.

BitShares had a troubled past but it seems after the dust has settled, things might start to work. Most of these are surely bots, however, this is still good because they are the ones bringing in liquidity, which is needed to attract new people in.

It would also be nice to have a notion of the volume, that's the most important metric imo. On this page - http://cryptofresh.com/assets - we can see "24-hour volume:". Can't that data just be added to a chart every 24h? For example, even though the number of trades has been increasing, i dont know of total volume is. That's important to know so we can compare and see if these trades are really benefiting the DEX.

Why does every page Mark does to promote stuff look like a low budget scam. At least put some effort into it. It looks just like spam

Follow My Vote / Re: The embarressing death of Follow My Vote

The sad thing was the merger happening to get all of this under the same umbrella - causing the collapse of BitShares - when none of the projects worked. So the community made a huge sacrifice and gave away money for nothing, literally.

I think this was brought up earlier, but isn't Dan Notenstein still in possession of several million bts that are to be used for bitshares maintenance issues as they pop up? Do consider those bts gone? How are patches going to be implemented and work delegated unless the two parties are working together?

Wold like to know this as well.

That day marks the end of an era, which had a very negative impact. Hopefully this brings in more confidence and a period of prosperity to the ecosystem.

General Discussion / Will anyone be mining zcash?

Just curious, I'm interested in buying from someone trustworthy in this forum, if the price is right for both

Another solution would fit nicely would be that all worker proposals are paid in BitUSD but this would require a hard fork.
That's not true. I proposed on several occasions to create a new multisig account (owned by the committee) that actually creates the workers for people looking to work for BitShares, gets the BTS and borrows bitUSD at ratio 3x or more) to pay them to the "employee" ...
All we need to do is to agree on this process since the shareholder needs to pay 3x - MORE for the worker in BTS terms to fund the collateral.

wouldn't that be positive since workers wouldn't inflate? bts would be instantly locked while increasing bitassets supply. true, it wouldn't reduce available supply since it came from the reserve pool, but at least we wouldn't have bts dumped. It would most likely be traded for bitcoin and then withdrawn, increasing volume and liquidity

Ok, so we don´t have enough people who would like to sell their BitUSD?

How will our situation change if:
- 200 BTC flow into BitShares every day, and will be converted into BitUSD
-  50% of the new BitUSD will be sold to on the market because they want to cash out

If the BitUSD cannot be sold against USD, the BitUSD has to be settle and the BTS has to be sold to get the equivalent amount in USD back.

We will have that situation in a few weeks after the launch of BlockPay. Any BitUSD buyers?

You mean just "200 btc" or you really meant 200btc/day? Although that would be the best thing to have ever happened to BTS, it sounds like a stretch... a huge, huge stretch.

keep up the good work with BlockPay  +5%

What company are you working for? Any website, contacts?

You will be using your own USD asset, backed by USD you control, how do you plan on making this a transparent process so people can trust you? You can just create USD and dump on everyone at will

I would prefer hearing solutions rather than questions. Your concerns may easily be sorted out by getting licensed as a financial services company in an offshore jurisdiction, which costs a 6-figure sum.

Good luck with people trusting you with no background info then.

General Discussion / Re: poll for bitUSD parameter optimization
« on: August 01, 2016, 12:39:08 am »
I object. I'm currently holding ~4,500 BitUSD. I would be directly damaged from this proposal.

I have already stated that I perceive the modification of an explicit guarantee as robbery.

I will consider legal action against any committee members who vote for such a proposal. I will also consider legal action against any shareholders who vote for such committee members.

So now everyone start's doing that each time a parameter is changed. How can you even call BitShares decentralized after saying that.

Every paramater is subject to change, there are no guarantees. And to for that to happen committee who were previously elected with the most votes need to approve it.

I believe by using the technology you're already bound to this, the same way when you visit a website you automatically accept giving information on your cookies.

If bitcoin forks you're going to seek legal action against miners?

Plus, doing it on members who support those committee members? LOL. Even if there was any guarantee of something, which there isn't and every parameter is subject to change - which, by the way, is why they are called "parameters" -  what can be seen as a bad option to you might not be for others. Opinions are relative and you can't force yours on others. That's just stupid.

Even if it was something hardcoded, the community could always fork and change and you would have the option to have it your way on your chain. That doesn't mean the majority and liquidity will be on your side and you can't force ppl to do so.

Good luck.

General Discussion / Re: Hello, I'm new to BitShares

Thanks for the responses. I wish we could treat ourselves like companies. I read an article recently which I can't find at the moment, about students allowing investors to invest in them. I see nothing wrong with the concept of crowdfunding from society and running your life like you are a company. I mean, as long as that is how the world currently works on a large scale, which it does, then why not? Reason why is they have all kinds of rules to prevent the peasants from being able to play the same game they play. We have to find a way around them. If I know that at age 28 and perfect health I can produce something of value in the world, I should be able to find investors in me as a person. Maybe 5 years down the line I'm a multi-millionaire. So I return the favor to my early investors with dividends. That's the line of logic I'm using right now, and it's probably the wrong way to approach a problem, but these are my beliefs none the less.

That would be a really good use of a bitasset :)

an asset can have value which derives from the owner's work. say you create an asset, people could buy it and send it to you in exchange for your work. it would have value. they can also be used for crowdfunding.

We also have pegged assets, bitCNY, bitUSD
