Here's a running list of crypto hashtags I have been, or will be, using while tweeting; feel free to use and/or add!  Also included a list of 'influencers' aka people who I follow/notice tweet a lot about cryptocurrencies.

I'm going to make it a personal goal to tweet to at least 1 new person a day about #bitshares, can someone hold me accountable and call me out if I haven't for the day?!

I've been reading and hearing about an upcoming educational platform for all things crypto-currency related and I'm really excited about that.  I might also suggest that perhaps some material covering the specific economics as related to the mechanics of BitShares would be appropriate too.  Maybe even some focus on the basics of philosophical Libertarianism?

As I've been lurking and reading on the forums since November - I've only recently found myself becoming more and more interested, and active.  But, I can't help but feel I have a disadvantage when it comes to an overall understanding in economics and computer science (mechanical engineer... I wrote a program in python once though, so I got that going for me..).

Daniel - I know you consider yourself a self-taught Austrian Economist.  Can you (or anyone for that matter) point me in the right direction to resources, noteworthy historical figures, or any other materials where I can cultivate and mature my understanding of economics to better contribute to, and promote, BitShares?  I too - am an entrepreneur, and have been looking for the next emerging industry I want to pour my obsessive focus into.  I'm pretty sure this is it.

I want to learn.  What are the things I need to know?

This idea was spawned from the recent "Priorities & Marketing" & "Bitcointalk Presence" threads; and comments made by toast specifically in regards to community-driven marketing:

What if a site were to be set up similar to http://bitcoinget.com/task for micro-tasks needed for marketing?  My hypothesis is this could result in a single location for small, incentivized tasks to be carried out by the BitShares community.  i.e. upvoting reddit posts, liking Facebook posts, creating tweets, checking spelling on sites, creating hashtags, memes, slogans, etc. etc.  Perhaps the payment for each task could be approved in some sort of mult-sig authorization like toast proposed??

The problem I'm trying to address is for people like myself  Those who want to help out as much as possible but  don't have the computer science experience for coding projects, have a full time job, or other time/skill-constraining limitations.  However, I do have time during my lunch break at work, or when I get home, to take care of a few small tasks - but searching through the forums and identifying something that can be done is incredibly inefficient.  So a single location where people can go to assist in tasks that would not be as technical as bountiful bounties, to me - would make some sense.  ..Maybe all tasks are at the sub-PTS level?

What do you guys think?  Could this potentially be a DAC that handles all the transactions??

Just thinking out loud here.

BitShares PTS / Which is the better ROI on 10 PTS: Keyhotee ID or hold?
« on: December 04, 2013, 06:58:36 pm »
Hey All - I've been following along for almost a month now and even got into mining a few weeks back.

I initially started mining because I was intrigued in obtaining a Keyhotee ID for 10 PTS.  However, after 2 weeks of mining in the coyote pool, I yielded about 4.5 PTS and I noticed the payout decreased the last several days (I've been off the grid the past week, so forgive my ignorance if this has been talked about as I try to catch up on everything, I noticed bytemaster mentioned something about people dropping from the pool...)

In any case, I THINK I may be able to come up with an additional 5.5 PTS by the projected launch date of New Years (mining + exchange purchases); but my question now is: which choice would have the bigger advantage in the long run, hold the 10 PTS or trade for a genesis block Keyhotee ID?

I don't have the means to buy very many shares like some folks; if I go the  Keyhotee route, that would hypothetically be my entire stash of PTS... is it worth it?
