DAC PLAY / Re: Whens the Poker DAC coming out?
« on: September 28, 2014, 06:05:17 am »
If you are playing strangers (or delegates) then even if you can trust the shuffle and dealing you cannot prevent other players from colluding.
This is true for any poker site in the wild.

Yes this is true no matter what. Collusion doesn't necessitate winning in poker.

It changes the odds in favor of the colluding parties.

In theory, yes and no. It can work both ways. You cant play AA against the buddy you're colluding with(you're not profiting off him). As a result you're not capitalizing off premium hands in certain spots where you would be normally. Your win rate drops, and you're still getting raked. Colluding with another can sometimes be a detriment to how one would normally profitably play. Your buddy tells you what he folds, this affects how you normally would play which could or could not be a detriment to a winning poker strategy. In my opinion you would both be better off playing how you would normally and just trying to steer clear of each other. Ive tried colluding with a friend before and its not as cut and dry as putting odds in your favor. In my opinion the risk to reward is simply not there and it just f***s everything up.

How do I get my client to connect to the network? stuck at "not connected"

Let it sit like that for a bit. It's probably downloading a copy of the blockchain from a chain server. You can check your task manager or the data directories to see if it's doing something.

Also, if it is not actually doing anything make sure you're not on a VPN or other type of restricted network. My client won't sync when logged into my work's VPN.

Waited for a bit and then it started resyncing. cool thx

General Discussion / Just sent to wrong address
« on: September 11, 2014, 11:41:28 pm »
Just sent 974 BTSX to the name bter instead of my own.. My registered name is also 4 characters so seeing bter everywhere I accidentally input it instead of my own.

Stupid mistake, good thing i didn't lose alot. Is there any safeguard against sending to the wrong alias? typos will happen.

The owner of that address is going to be rich one day.  :-\

Supernet to me seems a scheme to boost the value of all cryptos that jl777 holds.

Develop mutually beneficial relationship with the bank of England to get Bitshares mainstream adoption; than let the technology itself destroy them.  +5%

In short ... btsx are undervalued atm ..
the reason for this is that the unbelievers dont believe .. wait.. they dont understand.. that the peg will hold .. this uncertainty gives the price ..
once they see the peg holds we will eventually see HUGE rises in price .. (not meant as investment advice) ;-)

I see those that understand as insiders!!

Very good point. Once the non believers become converts its game over.
