General Discussion / Re: What's happening with the price?
« on: March 13, 2015, 02:22:52 am »

Why the fuck the release data changed again and again?
This is a very  slow progress.
Thats why the price was acting like a shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have a terrible attitude and nobody owes you anything.

What are you doing to make bitshares better besides bitching?

Hey Robrigo... since when does bitching help make bitshares better?  :)

Lets nuke the complainers. <play on lzr1900s avatar> All believers may take refuge in the bunker.. humm.. bet this post is going to show up in an NSA keyword scan now that I read what I wrote. :D Whupsy.

If there was anything driving down the price just from reading all the messages posted daily its this kind of thing that is doing it. Announcements are being made almost every other day about some new development carrying BitShares forward... anyways...

Ha good point, I could have phrased that better. Not trying to stir up shit but damn, almost everything lzr1900 posts is extremely negative and sometimes that shit needs to be called out.

lzr1900 can we be friends?  8)

I have tons of shares to vote  for 100% delegate,I bought and mined PTS since day 1,you dare say i do nothing to bitshares?
你们这些老外一个个就是装逼犯,一天不装逼就不舒服
Nope, I said you have a terrible attitude and bitch a lot, and asked you what you did. But apparently that struck a nerve.

"Ask not what bitshares can do for you, but what you can do for bitshares."

Don't take it too personally bro.

I nominate calling the smallest divisible unit of BitShares a 'Larimer'

Reviving this old thread so we can come to a consensus on what the smallest unit of BTS is called.

I would like to throw out "nash" as another, after John Nash.

So according to this thread we have the following suggestions.

nash
larimer
DAN

General Discussion / Re: CCnex major update shcedule
« on: March 12, 2015, 06:01:20 am »
Welcome CCnex. Looking forward to more liquidity in the bitKRW pair.

CCnex should consider integrate a bitKRW gateway, and host a Korean meetup on the bitshares worldwide site: meetup.com/bitshares-worldwide

Then run an embassy delegate and start an advocacy group. Boots on the ground to promote and bootstrap bitKRW from a local initiative. Soon the LIME mobile wallet will be available and make it easier to drive new user adoption.  8)

General Discussion / Re: Voorhees at the helm of Shapeshift
« on: March 11, 2015, 08:48:08 pm »
BTW - does anybody know the status of BitUSD at ShapeShift?

They suspended it due to the hack of Bter, which was where they were getting their supply of BitUSD, IIUC.

They are saying they're just finishing up integration with yunbi.com and should have it operational hopefully by the end of the day.

That's great news.  +5%

Happy to represent PeerTracks at http://movement.us/ if they are willing & able to secure a booth & resources, or even just make up a flyer design I can print and drop all over the fest.  8)

Looking forward to meeting the crypto fresh crew on their Detroit stop.

Social advertising would be much appreciated RG! The first meet is in 6 days.

http://www.meetup.com/bitshares-worldwide/

I'd rather go to established Bitcoin meetups .. but that has the particular reason that where I live, even in the bitcoin meetups there are <10 people ..

From my experience there aren't many people attending the Bitcoin meetup in Detroit either. I think the most I saw was 4. I started one to focus on 2.0 technologies (namely bitshares) for a few reasons:

1) To make the meetup content accessible and draw in non technical early adopters that are interested in startup opportunities, crowdfunding, social activism, and merchant integration with BitShares platform.

2) Didn't want to co-opt the Bitcoin meetup as a newer member by focusing on non-Bitcoin content.

3) Wanted to make it Bitshares centric for marketing purposes, while also fostering non-maximalist attitudes. These technologies are tools, not tribes.

I am aiming to find people in the area that want to actively pursue cryptocurrency adoption in Detroit by pitching businesses, working on software, education materials, and the like. My intention is to have an "action oriented" meetup where we focus on what we can do in the local community to take action and bring about change.

You have a good point. How about "meetups" in Universities? This way, you can piggy back on the already existing traffic of young and "open minded" early adopters.

Universities are a prime location to find people with time and interest. I'm near Wayne State now and have been meeting some students there. Another friend that I haven't talked with in a while expressed interest in starting a cryptocurrency club at Kettering University as well, which I think could be pretty effective. The college demographic should definitely be pursued further.

I agree with Xeroc, we need to craft the message! I like where bitscape and roadscape are going with the "DAC Society" concept as well. A platform of leaders.

Feedback and additions on this brochure are welcome- currently its a work in progress. I'm working with thread to finish this today so we can print and drop them off at the cafe where the meetup is and wherever else we can find.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Developer delegate: dev-pc.bitcube
« on: March 07, 2015, 11:52:26 pm »
With the current prices, is there even any point to hire somebody at an hourly rate? I see he is trying for the $5k bounty which makes sense - maybe its better for now that the delegate remains out.
We should all vote pc in even if he is taking on that bounty because we want him to have inventive to keep working on other bugs / tasks after he completes it. experienced devs who know the code base already are highly valuable for bitshares.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: BitShare Music Wallet release
« on: March 06, 2015, 03:22:04 pm »
We are attending the Texas Bitcoin Conference in Austin on the 27 -29th of March.

Notes will be liquid by then (on the BTS blockchain) Expect news then, last week of march.

Thanks to everyone for your patience (:

I remember you said you would also attend SXSW before Texas conference. Why not announce the launch at SXSW, the people attending Bitcoin conference won't show much interests in the projects that don't rely on Bitcoin, and also they may not know much about music business.  IMO SXSW is a better place to attract attentions from fans and artists.

I also hope PeerTracks is still going to be marketed at SXSW. It would be an excellent venue to start generating hype... and you will likely get more attention from musicians there than the TBC. Not to say you shouldn't do both either.  8)
