Haha, what a fun thread. I liked toast's BitUSD stability one.

I also like this:
The most interesting bitUSD purchaser in the world

But I prefer to modify it to the following:

BitAssets.
To the moon, my friends.

Hahaha yeah that's way better worded. I was trying to be clever but not incorrect so I kept it simple; thanks.  :)

IMO, the OP is afraid of success of DPOS , His whole investment in BTC is in the verge of collapse. That is the reason why he wants to break the DPOS mania. Some FUD ers , but I3 has been working and focus on security issues so $10,000 is worth a try but that is just a SMALL and CHEAP (concept) bounty compare to the rewards that is waiting for each DAC investor.

I think he is generally interested in the security of DPOS myself: http://www.successcouncil.com/post.php?info=Max-Wrights-thoughts-on-the-Security-threats-of-Delegated-Proof-of-Stake-and-Bitshares

So not FUD, but rather a great marketing tactic. And I am agreed with toast that the whitepapers should be released before this bounty goes live.

Haha the Willy Wonka / bytemaster memes crack me up!

Here are a few that I came up with:

The most interesting bitUSD purchaser in the world

doesn't understand DACs yet

Looks good Coinhoarder! I made some suggestions in bold below.

Can someone peer review this email below? I am going to gather email addresses for all services on the list. Email is about the only thing left to do I can think of, unless someone else has any other ideas.. I would be happy to hear. :)

Subject: Please consider adding BTSX and Bitassets to your exchange.

BitSharesX is no clone coin, so please hear me out! BTSX has the first commodity, cryptocurrency, and FIAT decentralized asset exchange, the assets are named Bitassets. The values of the Bitassets are "market pegged" to their true real-life values through trade on a decentralized market. The market peg is held by people taking opposite investment positions on that asset (short or long). The appropriate amount of BTSX is held in collateral to back the Bitassets such as bitUSD, bitBTC, bitCNY, and bitGOLD.

Accepting BTSX could expand your original business model beyond cryptocurrencies and into real life commodities. Furthermore, working with decentralized FIAT is much more convenient due to onerous taxes and government policies such as kyc, etc. As of this Wednesday, Bitassets will gain interest from transaction and market fees from each Bitassets. Some estimates have put that interest at about 5% to 10% yearly, and makes bitUSD a good alternative to a savings account in a bank.

Along with the above benefits your customers will enjoy the 15 second block confirmations, on the new Delegated Proof of Stake algorithm, which are as secure as one Bitcoin confirmation. Delegated proof of work stake uses a stake holder's vote to vote in the 101 block producers that alternate turns producing the next block. If a delegate is doing a bad job, or is attacking the network, then they can be voted out of power easily by other stake holders. In this way, delegates that were "hired" can also be "fired" by stakeholders in the network. The adjustable pay and burn rate of delegates also allows for creative campaigns to be launched by delegates, who can then funnel a % of their pay toward bolstering the community in some way.

Unlike Bitcoin, Litecoin, and most PoW currencies, BTSX is truly deflationary as transaction fees are destroyed and no more BTSX will be printed. The destruction of transaction fees serves as a means to pay "dividends" to shareholders by increasing the buyer power of remaining BTSX in the system. Most cryptocurrencies are still in the inflationary stage of their distribution model. It is possible that due to its utility and features, along with its truly deflationary model, it could appreciate in value better and faster than other cryptocurrencies.

In summary, please consider adding BitsharesX and Bitassets to your exchange for all the benefits they will bring, and the large community that is forming around it. BitSharesX and Bitassets are truly revolutionary ideas that deserve to be traded on the bigger cryptocurrency exchanges, and rise above the "copy and paste coins" and gimmicks that alternative cryptocurrencies have mostly been in the past.

Thanks,

Your name here.

Seems interesting. I've seen this project mentioned around too; never gave it much thought though. I guess you got my attention and subsequent wallet download with "teh free coinz".

Technical Support / Re: !!! Stupid Questions Thread !!!
« on: September 08, 2014, 03:20:33 pm »
Here's a stupid question:

Say I wanna buy a little bit of bitUSD right. I go to my market screen, I look at the asks/shorts.

The first two orders I see are for 1000 dollars (about 27,000 btsx) worth of bitUSD.

Now that's a little more than I would like to buy, I was thinking about a hundred or two hundred btsx worth would be nice.

If I want the order to fill instantly I would have to either buy 1000 dollars worth, or wait until those shorts get ate up, wouldn't I?

I think your order would be completed and their sell order partially filled if you set the price slightly above their ask.

General Discussion / Re: Guys vote for BTSX
« on: September 08, 2014, 02:32:48 pm »
I emailed the exchange HitBTC and here is what they said:

Dear Bluebit,

Thank you for contacting the HitBTC Support Team!

The currency with the highest number of votes will be periodically added onto the exchange every 2-3 weeks.

At the moment BTSX is added to HitBTC Coin Voting.
https://hitbtc.com/vote

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any inquiries.

SO GUYS PLEASE VOTE, NTX IS ALREADY IN THE TOP!!!

Thanks for making this post. Be sure to register first because your vote will be worth 10 instead of 1 that way.

The COO of Justcoin responded to my inquiry:

Thank you for your feedback and interest, Robert.
We find BTSX promising and will research it further.
Cheers,
August

I responded to him saying myself and the community at large would be glad to help with any research / questions they have. Hopefully they are serious; this would be a great exchange to be listed on!

I'm in. We should probably also be on IRC so we can coordinate answers. I don't want us to seem too keen with 10 of us answering every question :).

Is there a Bitshares IRC channel already? I did a little looking but didn't find any.
Ya, freenode #bitshares

Doh, that's what I tried originally but my freenode server settings were fubared (shows how much I use IRC I suppose). Now I am seeing a connection after some fiddling. Thanks!

On another note, if the BitcoinMarkets subreddit crowd finds the AMA off topic we may need to have a backup plan to migrate over to http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoMarkets. Or maybe host the AMA on CryptoMarkets and make a post referencing it on BitcoinMarkets? I'm not sure how strict the moderators for the BitcoinMarkets sub is, first time encountering this one.

"Notes are not equity in a corporation, they are not stock, they will not entitle anyone to dividends in the PeerTracks company, in fact they have no direct relation to the PeerTracks corporation. These are two separate, independent entities. PeerTracks uses the BitShares Music blockchain and adds value to the network just as Bitpay uses the Bitcoin blockchain and adds value to that. One does not own the other....When you send funds to our Bitcoin address, you are merely purchasing tokens that will enable you to use the BitShares Music blockchain when it launches."

I dont understand this.  I thought the whole point of DAC's is there is no true corporation behind the scenes and the shareholders get the profits from the DAC....

While i love the idea of the music DAC i would prefer to own a peice of the DAC not  another altcoin aka token.

This DAC seems to not be one so what am I missing?

I interpret this as PeerTracks being a corporation to facilitate mass market adoption of the BitShares Music DAC. Maybe a similar role to DACSunLimited with BitSharesX? Although I don't know that the developers will be hired directly by PeerTracks or what; I assume not since they are separate parts of the initial allocation. The DAC still has a decentralized life of it's own and the NOTE is still a tradable commodity / token (like BTSX). As the DAC becomes more popular and provides a valuable service, NOTEs go up in value. PeerTracks will exist to make the DAC popular, educate people about it, maybe drive creation of tools to make the DAC user friendly for the average consumer, etc.

Those are just my musings though; not sure what the plan really is.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Website name. Brainstorming

Anyone care to guess what the name is?

It explains what it is in the name.
It's not crypto centric. Meaning the masses will get it.
2 syllables

While we wait, why not play the guessing game. Oh and the site is up, although not all content is up to date, so if you find it, keep that in mind ^^

Some guesses:

TuneShares
SongShares
SoundShares
SongTree
TuneTree
SoundTree

Nice resources, sent out some fb posts / tweets to those entities. I also reached out to Justcoin about researching into BitSharesX / BitAssets to possibly list on their exchange in the future.
