i am active in the nxt community too.  i'll try my best to calm and pacify the people from both sides.. but just reading that thread takes me on a nicotine craving/withdrawal.  and the excitement with btsx's current rise isn't helping.

i love it that you're giving away 10,000 btsx.  :D

what a minute.  did vitalik buterin just imply that he definitely knows that bitsharesX will solidly stay at no. 3?

we know crypto is volatile, and the no. 3 spot bitsharesX is in could be gone in a week or month or so due to high volatility.

but why congratulate bitsharesX for being no. 3 unless...  he knows it will stay at no. 3?

bump.  using version 0.4.5.

syncing gets stuck every time.  already did a full re-install and imported mywallet.json.

haven't fixed the issue since last night.  and the wallet keeps crashing.

any other ideas how to get this fixed??
Lucky,

I had to uninstall the previous version and delete THE WHOLE BITSHARES X folder in APPDATA/ROAMING.

Then install 0.4.5 and accept agreement, then File, import wallet.

The blockchain started at zero, but I didnt have any issues, it synced in about an hour.

it's what i did.  still get the same issue.  and it crashes, so i sent a couple of crash reports.

does version 0.4.5 crash in windows?  it crashed twice when syncing.

About the crash, you mean 0.4.5 or previous version?

General Discussion / Re: Suggestion: BitUSD -> USD Ripple Gateway.

We have the capability at least in theory to set up a Gateway in Ripple which accepts BitUSD for real USD. Users would be able to transfer their BitUSD to that gateway and have it go directly into their bank accounts.

This would be a game changing feature so it should be a high priority to implement it.

https://ripple.com/guide-to-ripple-gateways/

If we can get a Ripple USD Gateway up and running then onto the assets like BitGold, BitBTC, BitLTC, all which could utilize Ripple the Ripple gateway.

So we should start with BitUSD -> USD but eventually AnyBitAsset -> AnyAsset. This would in theory allow people to exchange anything through these sorts of setups but I don't know how easy it is to set a Ripple Gateway up.

If it costs a lot of time and money to set up then lets crowdfund it. Offer a token on the Bitshares chain which people can buy and once it's set up then everyone can get paid something back in gifts.

if you're interested in doing this in ripple, i suggest getting in touch with jed mccaleb in stellar:  https://www.stellar.org/blog/introducing-stellar/

that is a ripple fork, with better distribution and it is run by a not for profit foundation.

i will post this thread over at stellartalk.org to get more attention to this idea.
