KeyID / Re: toast ,plz give us a chance
« on: October 07, 2014, 05:50:03 pm »
Sorry its hard to find internet here. I promise I'll get you in.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Thanks a lot.  Your help is very appreciated.  As we keep doing our delegate job,  we also  want to help people to get to use wallet as easy as possible.  For example,  we have proposed that you could consider provide alternative hoats and checksum of wallet binaries,  so that people can safely share and use theses binaries.  We are also writing a shell script that can be used to easily compile new wallets,  just like what we have done in btsx.

77
As the download speed of github could be extremely slow in china, please provide alternative links in other hosts like btsx wallets. Also, please provide SHA checksum of these binaries, so that we can download and share them safely.

Thank you

中文 (Chinese) / Re: Please coordinate chinese delegates
« on: October 03, 2014, 04:43:21 pm »
It is hard for me to judge who are distinct, noncolluding, productive entities when everything is in chinese.

Someone should make a curated list of delegates who want a 1% pay rate and a summary of what they are offering. I will pick 5-10 and vote them in.

Thanks for your concern! Most of us could be asleep right now, I think we need some more time to come up with the list you want.

Speaking of the team I'm in, our standby delegate in DNS is 'x1-sun'. The pay rate has already set to 1%.  The following is the list of works we have been doing:
1. Translation of BitShares forum, wiki, blog, website, whitepapers, articles, and status updates.
2. Guidelines, howtos for build and use of wallets.
3. Recently we started to attend beyond bitcoin mumble meeting and translate this meeting into chinese

P.S. currently we use 2 dedicated vps to run our delegate process.

KeyID / Re: [DNS] ** LAST CHANCE TO CHECK ALLOCATION **
« on: October 01, 2014, 11:32:36 am »
I got a problem that all my 'recieve addresses' have 189.3689 PTS checked by coinplorer.com.
but actually my wallet balance is 339.96378357 PTS right now and at the snapshop date.

so which number should I expect?
117600000000 * 189.3689
or
117600000000 * 339.96378357

thank you

PM all relevant addresses and I'll check it out

I found the rest addresses, thank you very much!

General Discussion / Re: mesh networking, last mile problem, and BTSX
« on: October 01, 2014, 11:20:44 am »
So all we need is BM to combine BTSX, Storj, Maidsafe and Firechat into a global meshnet protocol that can connect any Bluetooth/WiFi device.

Throw in DAC to operate/maintain a bunch of those Facebook sub-orbital drones and/or microsats for continental inter-connectivity.

I mean really, what's he going to do with all the spare time once Bitshares is off and running?

Speaking of Firechat, the mesh networking ability is the key reason why it is widely used in recent protests in east asia. For example, people attending the onging protest in hong kong use Firechat to tell each other to escape from pepper spray and tear gas casted by the police. Traditional messengers are useless here because people are too crowded there to use bandwidth. Also, traditional messengers are blocked by the goverments there.

As one of the purposes of messeging system in bitshares toolkit, KeyID, and the Vote DAC is to improve the freedom (of communication) and avoid surveillence of the authority as once revealed in this picture:

To achieve 'free, private communication everywhere', I think the implementation of mesh networking ability in BitShares Toolkit is not 'additional', but 'necessary'.

General Discussion / the name of 'bitGLD' should be reconsidered
« on: September 29, 2014, 01:14:36 am »
according to zhao150, who has practical experiences in foreign market, the name of gold market should be XAU or GOLD:

maybe we should keep bitGLD, which is easier to understand for us, but implement a synonym to have bitXAU market, which is actually the same of bitGLD market

I think they are the 'biggest' band that we should persue. They made some masterpiece albums like 'OK computer'. And they are willing to try innovative ways to distribute their albums:

(from wikipedia)
Quote
Radiohead's seventh album, In Rainbows, was released through the band's own website in October 2007 as a digital download for which customers could make whatever payment that they deemed appropriate (pay what you want), including paying nothing at all; the site only advised, "it's up to you".[58] Following the band's sudden announcement 10 days beforehand, Radiohead's unusual strategy received much notice within the music industry and beyond.[59] 1.2 million downloads were reportedly sold by the day of release,[60] but the band's management did not release official sales figures, claiming that the Internet-only distribution was intended to boost later retail sales.[61] In a 2011 appearance on The Colbert Report, Ed O'Brien said of the self-release strategy: "We sell less records, but we make more money."[62] Colin Greenwood explained the Internet release as a way of avoiding the "regulated playlists" and "straitened formats" of radio and TV, ensuring fans around the world could all experience the music at the same time, and preventing leaks in advance of a physical release.[63] A "discbox", including a second disc from the recording sessions, vinyl and CD editions of the album, and a hardcover book of artwork, was also sold and shipped in late 2007.[64]

General Discussion / Re: Proposal - Significant Enhancement to Market Engine
« on: September 24, 2014, 12:32:27 am »
there is a proposal about enabling short of BTSX to enhance peg here:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=9053.0

And I translated it as the following:

I think we can consider implementing 'short BTSX', just like 'futures markets' in real world.

Short of BTSX can be implemented by collateralization of BitAssets;  this will enable hedge of both sides, and prevent too many BitAsset short orders. In this way, the rules will be greatly simplified.

In the beginning of enabling BTSX short, some protections are still needed:
1、price feeding by delegates is still needed, and the extreme 10% of price feed should be removed from average price.
2、short of BTSX should be matched with minimal price, e.g.,100BTSX/BitCNY
3. order based on 1hr average price is still needed

with the short of BTSX, the process of pegging will be accelerated. If there is too many BTA in the market, short of BTSX can make extra profit.

and another rule should be added: all shorts needs to be covered in a year, or will be charged 5% of interest.

中文 (Chinese) / Re: Collaboration
« on: September 17, 2014, 03:48:38 am »

Is there anyone in Chinese community that would like to volunteer to provide a Chinese translation of some of Daniel Larimer's (Bytemaster) weekly Mumble server update  ?  It is usually an hour long but I could give time frames to translate that would be somewhat easier subjects to translate.   We could make 20 minute Chinese version or 10 minute if it would help.

I am trying to find way to start having more 2 way communication with Chinese side.  Anyone have ideas ?

Metallallen (浮壹白) and I are trying to translate the latest mumble show,
the outline is already translated here:
http://www.bts.hk/latest-on-bitshares-direct-from-sept-12-show.html

and we will translate the rest.
I think we are willing to translate mumble show in the future as a beginning of collaboration.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: BitUSD used to buy artistcoins?
« on: September 10, 2014, 06:17:46 pm »
I strongly support having   CHAIN-BitUSD on every chain out there including DNS.  It is a HUGE value add that allows people to hedge without leaving the chain and facilitates cross-chain trading by eliminating the bid/ask spread.  You just trade it a par value.

It is no more confusing than having GoxUSD and BitstampUSD and BTC38_USD.   It is a core feature that all DACs should have.

If every DAC can have their own bitUSD,  how is BitSharesX exchange better than other DAC?

I think interest is great.  However,  since that it takes a year to maximize my yield,  I would like to have a command that shows the distribution of coinage in specified account.  For example:
Code: [Select]
>>coinage <account>
And it may returns something like:
Code: [Select]
1. Coinage of 50% of balance is 0.9 year
2. Coinage of 30% of balance is 0.5 year
3. Coinage of 20% of balance is 0.1 year

So I know I can use the 20% without interfering the interest of the other 80% to maximize,  assuming the wallet will automatically choose the 'youngest' BitUSD to spend.

https://github.com/dacsunlimited/bitsharesx/releases/tag/0.4.12

Delegates & Seed Nodes should upgrade ASAP.
Publish your version info as "0.4.12" after you upgrade to keep my vote.
I think we need checksum of every release,  that we can make sure our download is correct.

Windows 0.4.10 GUI can‘t cancel order ,show error as
RPC Server Error: In method 'wallet_market_cancel_order': unknown market order (20011)

you can use command at console tab to do this:
wallet_market_cancel_order <order_id>
so you need to input the order_id you want to cancel
