Max's e-book is awesome! #1 ranking already in three e-book subcategories. I'm impressed!

I posted a review. And I upvoted the other good reviews. Please do both.

Everyone should do the following:

(1) Post a review. It's okay to have a few four-star reviews, not all five stars, as some people find that rather artificial. Research shows that readers find it more honest when a book has between 4-5 stars and Amazon's algorithm may find this more organic.

(2) Go back and 'upvote' all the 5-star reviews. At the bottom of each review it asks whether you found this review helpful. Click "Yes" for each of the 5-star reviews and any good 4-star ones. If there is anything under 4 stars, click "No".

That provides some more yummy food for the algorithm. Let's keep up the momentum.

Exactly, if everyone can get on this asap we have a real chance at a bestseller rank.

Upvoting all reviews daily and leaving your own helps. I have a few amazon accounts so I will review with each.

Keep at it people!

General Discussion / Re: Subtitles for bitshares.tv
« on: December 19, 2014, 06:12:59 pm »
most the translation software available is not very good, so it makes it harder for us to translate English to readable Chinese with proper grammar. If somebody in the Chinese community would be willing to translate and send us the text file then we can add it to the videos for Chinese subtitles. I do think that is a good idea, would anybody like to volunteer for this?

General Discussion / Re: Remittances - a really big market for bitUSD
« on: December 19, 2014, 06:10:12 pm »
Actually remittance will not need bitassets at all, it can run purely on gateways end to end. It's basically what ripple was designed around. Of course if we manage to convince people that holding bitassets is as good as having cash under the pillow then bitasset transactions could eventually become as good as end to end fiat remittance.

That's the route we are positioning this for.

Thanks, got it and now coordinating interview.  I appreciate the contact.

The key here folks is to get as many sales and reviews as possible - if the Bitshares community can assist then please do as much as you can.  If we can hit bestseller status we can likely get media interviews much more easily.

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares in Cuba?
« on: December 19, 2014, 01:44:10 am »
Actually just in the last week the  relationship between Cuba and the US is warming.

I saw that - but Congress talking heads has already made it known they will not allow funding for the embassy if they can block and also stated they will do everything in their power to not allow this to happen.

Any plans for Bitshares to expand to Cuba now that the cold war is finally over?

Not if Congress has anything to say about it...

Good idea though.

not worried too much - def NOT paying for the review - just incentivizing action.  They don't like people buying positive reviews -

I will followup and see where it goes.

Jay - tried to PM but it won't allow PM's to you - please email me directly at michael[at]bitshares.org or give me a way to contact you to discuss.

yup font should be black

Agreed - there are some readability issues there that can be solved with a font color change.

General Discussion / Re: Matt Miller of Bloomberg TV totally gets it
« on: December 19, 2014, 12:41:07 am »
We hit a few people on Bloomberg, techcrunch, cnbc and a few other places today.

They are all talking about the ruble tanking, russians moving to btc, and this is a good time to discuss price stable cryptos imo.

I still think it would be better for us to vote in a paid delegate to use to buy our own media accounts - then we can get the ball rolling without having to convince someone an interview is worth it.

I am very pleased to announce 2 marketing initiatives are being released today… and you can win 200 bitUSD just by supporting them.

www.BitShares.TV
, hosted by Max Wright, is a weekly internet show dedicated to keeping you up-to-date with the world of BitShares. The first 3 episodes are online and ready for you to watch right now.

Each episode is designed to give insight to a particular aspect of the BitShares eco system. How BitShares can improve the world we contract, interact, and do business with.

BitShares.TV gives you the inside scoop on the latest developments and allows you to meet the people behind BitShares, from core developers to marketing professionals.

Because different aspects of Bitshares appeal to different folks, Bitshares.TV is a great tool to share with your friends to help them get as excited about BitShares as we are.

And once a BitShares.TV episode sparks a light bulb in someones mind, they are more likely to share it, and get involved… and that is exactly what we want.  I hope the TV show will spark enough interest that they understand and get involved in BitShares.

And that is where BitShares 101 comes in.

BitShares 101 is the first book ever written dedicated entirely to understanding BitShares.

I authored the book and the feedback I have recieved suggests the book does an excellent job of taking the advanced concepts of BitShares and explaining them in an easy-to-understand way. Even some of the BitShares faithful who received advanced copies of the book were impressed by what they learned, commenting on how easily understandable BitShares becomes.

Today, for the first time ever, you can get your own copy of, Bitshares 101: A Guidebook on How To Profit From the Next Generation of Bitcoin, Crypto Currencies and Decentralized Businesses for just $0.99

But I really want this book to go number 1 in its category. And that means lots of sales over the next 3 days.

So I decided to motivate you all a little further by giving you the chance to win 200 bitUSD by supporting the book.

Here is how:

Once you buy the book for $0.99 cents, share it on Facebook and/or Twitter that you bought the book with the hashtag: #Bitshares101. Be sure you post a link to the book on Amazon. Feel free to use your own affiliate code if you wish.  From those posts, I will pick one at random and send them 100 bitUSD.  It's that easy.

For another chance to win $100 in BitUSD, just leave us an honest review on Amazon’s Kindle after you read the book. This will really help drive sales, especially if those comments have keywords in them like bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrency.

So for your chance to win $200 in BitUSD just buy the book for $0.99, review it, and post a link to the book on Facebook/Twitter with the hashtag: #Bitshares101…

I will randomly select two winners, and notify everyone via email and this forum who won.

You can grab your copy here.

I look forward to reading your reviews and getting your feedback.

Thanks,
Max

I also wanted to mention that both of these marketing initiatives were a team effort.

A kind thank you to proof readers Stan, Gentso1, DonkeyPong, and Matador123
HPEnvy for donating $100 for Fiverr tasks and word press plugins,
Murderistic for tech and marketing support,
And most of all a very big thank you to AbellJefrry for lots of work on building sites and graphics.  He put in a metric shitload of effort and it is very much appreciated.

I would also like to note that both Cass and Abelljefrry designed very beautiful book covers that were much too pretty.  Much to their chagrin I went with the ugly cover because ugly sells better on Kindle.  :)  So don't blame them for the ugly cover.  Blame me.

I am also throwing a couple hundred down for people in a random drawing.  I am also thinking I might just send the 10k or so bitcoin subscriber list an email that says I will reimburse them for their purchase upon leaving a review and sharing on social networks...let's see what traction we get in the next 48 hours and then I will do that if we still need more sales.

Check out this interview, specifically at 01:55, Matt Miller is practically asking for bitUSD:

Quote
When I first started really getting into Bitcoin I was more excited not about it as a currency that wealthy Westerners could use but as a currency that people in troubled economies like Venezuela or Argentina could use.
...its not very useful to them if it falls steeply in value.

Maybe someone experienced in marketing could reach out to him and explain bitUSD? His reddit account is mattmiller1973

Working on it.
