Stan can't be responsible for problems and business partners situations really to expect that would not be fair

Someone who expects every lead to materialize and every third party to deliver on its promises clearly has no experience with startups. That isn't how things work in business. You're lucky if 1 in 10 of these things ever develops. Kudos to Stan and the team for continuing to keep us in the loop.
Here is my take on it. Everybody here seems to be so intent on hearing the latest news and grilling the inner development team and inner consulting circle about what's next and why isn't this happening and when is this going to happen and why aren't we doing this.

Then when they try to include members in the loop or help with decision making process or getting your assistance with various things, I see people complain.

It must be a really difficult position for them to be in, and I do not envy them.

If you truly care about the project and where we're going, you don't have to agree with everything but I would say that people should really strive to bring value and positivity and assist however they can in making that dream come true.

Obvious answers that were probably already considered... coinbase, circle, itbit maybe paypal.  Circle would be the best since they are now allowed to hold USD.

I agree Circle is the best option. There withdrawal limits are $3000 weekly for bank accounts and they don't charge transaction fees, although an ACH fee is really only about $0.15.

Humor me here, what would a pitch to circle look like? What would be their incentive (in the grand scheme of things?)  I'm genuinely curious.

Circle is doing everything they can to make a gateway for bitcoin (cryptocurrencies) and have people using bitcoin (crypto currencies) without them realizing that they are. They have in the past year created the best gateway for that purpose. Aside from the speed of Bitcoin transactions the real problem that they have in garnering more adoption is that bitcoin is a commodity. So even though Circle now has USD accounts, when a user sells bitcoin for usd they are supposed to keep track of and report any gains or losses. Using bitusd would allow for the user to use cryptocurrencies without worrying about reporting requirements. Also bitassest markets are privatized, so not only can they control the market and but also accrue revenue from trading fees.
That is essentially what Max and I have been trying to do for the last two years, along with Stan, Dan, & a few other people we've been working on relationships and development.

This is pretty much coming to a head, because this last option is all we need. It won't be the prettiest to start with but with a partner like this we can get it done.

Hey guys I want to go ahead and take the heat for this one, I personally asked Stan to post in the forum to see if we could get anybody that has some additional connections I did not have, or additional ideas I could not come up with on how to solve this problem.

Tragic.  What a strain on credibility

In business, you seldom have total control of events, in fact you seldom have any control.

You just pivot and carry on.

Sometimes plans work out quicker than expected, sometimes there are setbacks that move projected goals.

To let a change in plans from a situation that you cannot discourage you, is to fail in business.

To carry on in spite of it all is the true measure of success.

Do not discourage yourself and others, celebrate the willingness to move forward in spite of all obstacles.

Of course you are right. That doesn't change the fact that Stan's cocksure attitude leaves a sour taste in the mouth of many community members. He's the boy who cried wolf at this point IMHO.
Horsefeathers. He has literally informed the community of developments as they have happened once he has been given liberty to do so. He is not then responsible for all the businesses that have shown an interest, nor the manner or timescale in which they execute their BitShares implementation. Stan is busy, along with many others, reaching out and forming partnerships that will sustain Cryptonomex and grow BitShares. This is precisely what BitShares needs. Any reasonable person would understand this and would be interested in learning of promising partnerships in development. If they succeed or adapt or fail is not down to Stan or anyone reaching out. What's important is the strategy and the direction.....there are people making the right things happen and if only some of them succeed, well a pebble can start an avalanche.

Yes, of course Ben - to everything you said. I just think his hyperbole is over the top and I personally don't find it very persuasive. Hopefully I'm eating crow in a few months.

Of course, I could keep all this stuff secret and be accused of insider trading...

You are free to research each announcement and make of them what you will.
Sorry I had to edit this post since I posted in the wrong thread. Stan can't be responsible for problems and business partners situations really to expect that would not be fair

LottoShares / Re: Is this FreeTrade 2.0?

I think you may be referring to the defunct lottoshares cryptocurrency project that is not related.

I will write a sticky making sure it is explained, thanks for the heads up on this.

As for integrating with a blockchain, it is possible using the Bitshares platform and creating a new chain just for it and other potential gaming needs - which is our goal.

"Hey guys, we also accept 1/2 bitcoins too."

As a matter of fact, we do!

Thanks for pointing that out Newmine.

Also, the email confirms should be setup by tomorrow for all donations.

bitUSD should be confirmed tomorrow, we are testing everything as I type this.

Thx guys. The best thing you can do is help spread the word and help us show that blockchain is profitable for more than just currency...

Hey guys,

New here, BTS holder and Lotto Shares holder ( I think?)

couple questions,

1. Why do you not send a conformation  email of funds recieved?
2. Can I send multiple donations to the same email address.

Thanks!
Multiples are allowed from same email.

Check your spam folder to see if the email actually came, we did have a confirmation email that went out.

Will take a look at the MX and SPF records and see if there's any problems there, then we will evaluate. I think because the word motto is in the domain and makes it harder to deliver.

Thanks for joining in the donation phase, I appreciate your vote of confidence and I assure you I will do everything in my power to make this project as profitable as possible.

I came here to ask these two question too. I signed up and brought LottoShares.  Haven't got any email from this. My Gmail spam folder is empty.
I'll check on why. Its a blockchain wallet if you donated bitcoin you should be able to see your donation come through.

On Jan 1, are you sending out any email to every one asking for their wallet address to clam their LottoShares? Or is this in that conformation email?  And I should add ... 'High +5%' on your work.
YES on lauch date everybody that donated will receive emails on how to claim their shares. Alternatively you can look at our info graphics as well as our instructions on how to claim shares. I know in the past any time a crowd fund was done, they did not send a confirmation email upon donation. We will try to notify everyone upon receipt, however, not everyone who puts in their email address donates.

couldn't this be done via privatized bitassets? they would create their own btiUSD
I was thinking the same, their own usd pegged asset.

Fyi they deal in 60 countries and need to settle in more than one currency.

As for chicken and the egg, I didn't consider that problem, though my thought on it is they wouldn't need to immediately put 500 mil into bitusd, but would sort of put it in as they go every month. They would have as much exposure then, right?

You folks are much smarter than I am, thanks for your perspective.

I'm working hard on this deal people, we are talking over 500+ million in yearly funds being moved.

Imagine if it is all bitUSD they were using...

This is the one gamechanger we need. They said yes, provided this option can be made to happen.

Let's do this together and share the reward...before Dublin, when we walk in with the ink dry on it.

I would definitely be careful, but the first time somebody could prove that Microsoft enabled a theft or was involved in a theft then I can see major lawsuits and lots of millions of dollars at stake for them.

General Discussion / Re: Crowdfunding a business?
« on: October 02, 2015, 05:09:12 pm »
Double check my logic here.

How would crowd funding a completely new business from the ground up work using only the bitshares platform?

You'd pay an issuance fee for a new UIA. Create it, and determine the amount that's going to exist.

The value is initially zero. You hold, let's say, 100,000 of this new asset.

Then you create a business plan (a meticulously thought out business plan, covering every possible concern and aspect after consulting a lawyer), spread it around, and get people interested.

Then on launch day, put up a sell order for however many shares you want to sell, lets say, 100,000, and set a price. This is where I'm a bit iffy. If you want to use the proceeds to establish the business, then that might work against you if the people who buy the initial 100,000 sell before you do, right? Is it possible to lock them in the system so that yours is the only sell order? Or do you basically have to hold them, use a website to track who all donate, then distribute when you're ready for them to be traded?

Anyway, say you determine (and I'm pulling a number out of my ass here just for the example, in practice the number would be the exact amount necessary based on research into the expenses) that you need $200,000 to start the business and keep it running long enough to start turning profit. So you set the initial offering at 2 dollars per share. Sell them all, and agree to use... lets say 50% of the businesses future profits to buy back shares every month, at whatever price they may be selling for (presumably, nobody would want to sell unless for more than they purchased for), until they're all bought back. You would give detailed monthly updates on how the business is doing until they're all bought back.

I'm thinking about starting work on a brick and mortar business plan. Does the above sound like a viable way to go about it? Am I missing anything? Is this a terrible idea? What are you thoughts, community?
I would be happy to jump on a call with you to explain what I have been working on, and how I foresee the process from different angles.
