Stakeholder Proposals / Relative order for combinations of BitAssets
« on: January 16, 2015, 08:23:22 pm »
As now, if I attempt to convert bitCNY into bitUSD, I have to go through bitCNY:BTS and bitUSD:BTS market since bitCNY:bitUSD market is not that active. Plus, when I go bitCNY:bitUSD market, the wallet says "insufficient feeds" although there're already enough feeds for USD and CNY. We can easily create the bitCNY:bitUSD feed with medians of USD and CNY and this can be applied to relative order function in this pair.
With relative order in a pair of BitAssets, people won't be bothered by spread of both CNY:BTS and USD:BTS market. Once market makers come to bitCNY:bitUSD market and with some spread (I guess 1% or less), people are able to convert their local currency into foreign ones.

General Discussion / 2.2 mil vs. 36k, What is the problem?
« on: January 15, 2015, 03:53:00 pm »
Last 24h volumes are 2.2 mil for Nubits and 36k for bitUSD. I don't think bitUSD is inferior than Nubits, actually bitUSD is better than Nubits in terms of design and security. Is PR the problem? Or people is so bullish that they don't buy bitUSD? No market maker? What is our problem?

General Discussion / To promote bitUSD, what should we have?
« on: January 14, 2015, 09:21:45 pm »
This is just a rough brainstorming...

From merchant side

1. Merchants can easily add "Pay with bitUSD" button in their websites or blogs.
2. They can easily collect shipping information pertinent to each order (probably combined with mailing function? Memo is too short to implement this)

From customer side

1. Customers can easily convert their local currencies into bitUSD through gateway/exchanges.
2. They even don't have to install Bitshares wallet. Instead, they can use bitUSD on web wallet.
(For 1 and 2, Coinbase is a good example. It allows people to buy BTC and to use on web-based wallet or mobile wallet)
3. Their purchase can be protected by escrow service
4. They can get confirmation email and shipping notice (via mail service?)
ADD: 5. They can figure out the reputation of sellers

My imagination is that everyone can sell and purchase goods and services on their blogs and simple websites with bitUSD instead of big online shopping mall. They don't have to pay a high fee to ebay or amazon, hence this benefits both consumers and sellers.

Please provide any thoughts of yours on this.

Stakeholder Proposals / Let's promote bitUSD/bitCNY with delegate payment
« on: January 11, 2015, 05:00:54 am »
Hi all delegates,

Nevertheless I am so bullish about BTS, I have decided to convert all my delegate payment to bitUSD every Saturday.
BitAssets such as bitUSD is our most important product. As employees of BitShares company, we should promote our product, if we are confident with this. Now about 80,000 BTS are created every day. If all delegates participate in this campaign, we can increase approximately $1,000 daily volume or $30,000 monthly volume at least. Buying bitUSD also helps market pegging system by providing more buying power.

In addition, if we delegates keep bitUSD in our pocket and then the market cap of bitUSD increases as a result, bitUSD will jump up in CMC rank and people will be more interested in bitUSD.

Any thoughts?

Muse/SoundDAC / Korean music market is so distorted. Can Music help?
« on: January 11, 2015, 04:04:11 am »
I just read an article about the reality of Korean music market.
According to a Korean musician, when his music is downloaded for 50 cents (600 KRW), he gets only 1.5 cent (17 KRW), and other 97% of profit goes to music dealers. With regard to streaming he earns 0.6 cents per play. This is a crazy market.

Will Music help this artist? If so, I would like to promote Bitshares Music to Korean musicians.

Cob, can you reveal the specific profit ratios for downloading and streaming?

General Discussion / Why UIAs use BTS as fees when they are transferred?
« on: January 08, 2015, 10:36:35 pm »
I found that I need BTS to transfer UIA. In my opinion, this is not convenient.

Some want to use UIA as a coupon or mileage, separated from BTS. But current system enforces people to have BTS to transfer. This means when customers, who do not know BTS at all, want to use their mileage, they should ask someone to give them a small amount of BTS for fees.

I argue for that an UIA should spend itself as a fee. Any thoughts?

General Discussion / Questions about bitUSD fee and yield
« on: January 01, 2015, 04:57:53 am »
I read bytemaster's blog and but still want to clarify some.
Here is my a couple of questions.

1. What type of fees are paid in bitUSD?
Short interest, margin call fee, and others?

2. Once fee is collected, For how long is it released gradually?
   For two weeks? a month?

3. Although it has variant interest rate, on average so far, how much is the interest rate?
I wish it is greater than 5% :D

Thanks in advance.
