General Discussion / v0.4.23 Windows x64 Client Version Name
« on: October 29, 2014, 03:32:27 am »
I downloaded it from github and it shows 0.4.22 on splash screen. Also get_info gives me client version 0.4.22.
Is it simply naming mistake?

General Discussion / Significant figures issue in BitAssets
« on: October 28, 2014, 08:16:42 pm »
I just found a potential issue in BitAssets, in particular BitJPY (and KRW in the future).
Compared to other currencies, JPY and KRW have a quite low exchange rate. JPY is about 100 times smaller than USD, and KRW is approximately 1000 times. This means that if we use the same precision, accuracy issue will arise.

Now BitUSD has six significant figures, say 45.2714, while BitJPY has only two, 0.42.
I am not sure that delegates can provide their price feed at a full decimal (8?).
But if they should follow precision, it will be problematic especially when BTS price become over $2; BitJPY price per BTS should be 0.005 but there are only two decimals.

General Discussion / Some Updates from Korean community
« on: October 27, 2014, 10:53:42 pm »
I have been trying to make some changes to help involvement of Korean community. Here are some updates about it.

1. (Perhaps) BM will add BitKRW on Bitshares (X). Thanks Stan and BM!

2. The biggest Korean crypto community(Ddengle.com) will create Bitcoin 2.0 board, which will contain Bitshares, Ethereum, etc.

3. I'm contacting Korean exchange named Yapizon to add BTS in the future. I think this will greatly promote participation of Korean community.

Thanks for all you guys' help and inspiration!

KeyID / Windows 0.0.4 still works?
« on: October 27, 2014, 04:15:50 am »
I'm using windows client and waiting for 0.0.5.
I have to move my DNS from bter to local wallet, but am not sure 0.0.4 still works.
When I enter get_info it seems to be synced.

Do I have to wait 0.0.5 or can I move them now?

General Discussion / Can BitKRW(Korean Won) be added on BTSX market?
« on: October 26, 2014, 04:28:53 pm »
I'm from Korea (South :) ) and very interested in BTSX system. One thing bad for me is that BTSX doesn't have Korean currency, BitKRW despite of Korean's interest in cryptocurrency and their economic scale (15th in nominal GDP in 2013).

I am realizing BitFiat market is stagnant with the exception of BitUSD, but having BitKRW on BTSX would be meaningful and symbolic for Korean community.

If there's no enormous work to add BitKRW, I3, can you consider to add BitKRW?

And if you agree with my humble opinion, please support me in this thread.

We're expecting Nov 5 snapshot and relevant huge move of fund from exchanges to personal wallets.

However, the withdrawl limit of bter on DNS is only 1.5mil per DAY, which equals to about only 1.8 btc. I think this will cause a big problem.

So, can somebody ask bter to increase the withdrawl limit, say 20 mil or higher, a day?

Muse/SoundDAC / Will Music be merged into BTS?
« on: October 22, 2014, 01:50:29 am »
Many are worrying about the future of music, suffering from uncertainty. I would suggest cob and Music team clarify the next step of Music; Will it be merged or independent? IMHO, music is not a core component of "DAC-OS", hence it should not be included in BTS.

KeyID / Vote for me and see Korean Bitshares community grows up
« on: October 05, 2014, 02:45:30 pm »
Hello, I'm clayop from South Korea and running KeyID delegate server.

Unlike China, Bitshares is not famous among Korean people, although they are very interested in 'conventional' cryptocurrencies, such as Litecoin and Darkcoin.
My purpose is to facilitate Korean Bitshares community, and to achieve this goal I need your graceful support.

I will give away 90% of my delegate profits to Korea crypto community (www.ddengle.com) to promote their participation and attract their attention to Bitshares (10% will be used for server maintenance). I will provide registration fee support, events, and bounties (e.g for translation) for Korean Bitshares community.

I'm running the delegate on separate server and it has 24/7 technical support.

Please vote for delegate-clayop and help grow Korean Bitshares community.
delegate-clayop (KeyID) has 1% pay rate

General Discussion / How to import account to CLI client?
« on: October 04, 2014, 06:35:42 am »
I attempted to "wallet_import_private_key [PrivKey] [account name]" but it gave me the error message as follow,

current_account.valid(): You must create an account before importing a key

How can I resolve this problem? Any clues?

Hello, Bitshares community! I'm Jaewoo Cho from South Korea and running a delegate for Bitshares network.

While cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and other altcoins (e.g. Darkcoin) are famous in Korea crypto community, unfortunately Bitshares is not well-known. This is the reason why I want to be the first and only delegate of Korea.

Here's plan for my delegate payment:

0) Estimated total income: $75/month
1) Server maintenance: $25/month
Google cloud platform g1.small (1.7G memory, 30G SSD)
2) Translation and development: $50/month
To attract developers, the fund will used for creating simple python script, etc.
For better community participation, important documents will be translated into Korean ($10 per 200 words)

The following is my role as delegate,

1. Make the pie bigger
Korea is a high-tech and economically developed country and there is a big potential market for Bitshares.
I will keep contacting exchanges, PG, and other service providers, as well as laypeople to adopt Bitshares technology.
2. Managing Bitcoin 2.0 child-board in Korean cryptocurrency community (http://www.ddengle.com/bitcoinshare)
Discussions and delivering informations are live there.
3. Managing bitshares.kr blog.
I am uploading updates/news and basic instructions.
4. Issued KOREAN to play with and airdropping them (http://www.ddengle.com/bitcoinshare/899890)
This really give incentives people to finalize their registration. They can play with KOREAN in BTS market as well.
5. Recruiting talented developers and encourging them to get involved in Bitshares community
This is the most important mission for me. I will bring them to BTS community and let them do their job to benefit Bitshares!

Finally Here's list of my trusted delegates on my slate:
Code: [Select]
        "angel.bitdelegate",
        "argentina-marketing.matt608",
        "bm.payroll.riverhead",
        "bitfeeds.chsln",
        "btstools.digitalgaia",
        "emski.bitdelegate",
        "del0.cass",
        "delegate-alt",
        "delegate.bitsuperlab",
        "delegate.liondani",
        "delegate.xeldal",
        "delegate.xeroc",
        "dev-metaexchange.monsterer",
        "dev.bitsharesblocks",
        "dev.sidhujag",
        "dev0.nikolai",
        "immortal.bitdelegate",
        "jcalfee1-developer-team.helper.liondani",
        "marketing.methodx",
        "mr.agsexplorer",
        "mrs.agsexplorer",
        "stan.delegate.xeldal",
        "testz",
        "valzav.payroll.testz"

Delegate is an honory position for me. I will keep doing my mission regardless of becoming delegate. I just want to be encouraged by community and to refresh our community with diversity.
Thank you

KeyID / Market cap prediction based on PTS price change
« on: October 03, 2014, 10:01:25 pm »
I calculated DNS market cap for fun.

The calculation is,
(Max PTS price between 8/1~21 - PTS price at 8/1) * amount of PTS / proportion of PTS in DNS

That is,
(0.0089 - 0.0065) * 1,700,000 / 0.4 = 10200 BTC (approx.)  -> 204 satoshi per DNS

This did not consider VOTE. But I believe DNS will rise up to my calculation.

KeyID / How to access .p2p sites? Is there easier ways?
« on: October 01, 2014, 07:41:13 am »
As Bitshares wiki states,

"You can view pages on the .p2p namespace without any installation or configuration by using a centralized proxy like [1]. To use .p2p like a normal TLD, you need to configure your browser to point to a DNSchain node, or install a browser extension like okTurtles."

http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/.p2p_(BitShares_DNS)#How_do_I_view_.p2p_websites.3F

users have to do something to surf .p2p sites. But it would be a tough job for lay people like my mom and dad. Is there more comfortable way to access .p2p sites for normal users?
