The biggest problem our DEX is liquidity. Resolving this issue is one of the key of our success.
Here's a very draft idea. If anyone can grab it and can complete it, I will support him.

The copycat market maker bot means it copies other exchanges' order book into the DEX with some profit.
For preparation, the bot owner should put 50% of BTC and BTS in external exchange and the rest of them in DEX (e.g. 5 BTC / 200k BTS on Poloniex, 5 TRADE.BTC / 200k BTS on DEX)

And if Poloniex has the following order book,

SELL                                                                     BUY
0.00001200   20000 BTS                                  0.00001100 70000 BTS
0.00001300   30000 BTS                                  0.00001000 20000 BTS
0.00001400   40000 BTS                                  0.00000900 10000 BTS

The bot place orders in DEX as follows (with 0.5% profit)
SELL                                                                     BUY
0.00001206   20000 BTS                                  0.00001094 70000 BTS
0.00001307   30000 BTS                                  0.00000995 20000 BTS
0.00001407   40000 BTS                                  0.00000895 10000 BTS

Once an order (0.00001206 20000 BTS, as an example) filled, the bot buys the same amount of BTS in Poloniex, and send them to DEX. Meanwhile, the bot withdraws TRADE.BTC (obtained by the order) to Poloniex, to balance 50/50.

In this way, we may be able to make our DEX more attractive. If it's open sourced, the bot should avoid duplicated order.

Hi Chinese community!

I want to let you know that I will vote for "reasonable" fees (yeah now it's somewhat high). Please set proxy for clayop (Voting -> Proxy -> Publish Changes)

Please set proxy for "clayop" for the growth of our ecosystem. My goals and plans are as follows.

Purpose: To attract new users with reasonable fee-base and to promote healthy network

Goals:
1) To vote for committee members who propose reasonable fee system
2) To vote for diligent witnesses who are very reactive and reliable
3) To vote for talented workers who can expand BitShares ecosystem

Plans:
1) I won't vote for one person as both committee member and witness
2) I will support current 31 witnesses, and may be able to vote for more (maximum 51)

Here's my slate

General Discussion / Discussion about new trading fee schedule
« on: October 25, 2015, 11:14:38 pm »
According to the BM's proposal, we are going to have cheaper cancellation fee and relatively expensive filling order fee.

https://github.com/cryptonomex/graphene/issues/393

Summary:

Filled order
- Lifetime members: $0.05 (15 BTS)
- Annual member: $0.125 (35 BTS)
- Basic member: $0.25 (70 BTS)

Unfulfilled order
- Lifetime member: $0.0002 (0.1 BTS)
- Annual member: $0.0755 (20 BTS)
- Basic member: $0.20 (55 BTS)

It's desirable to have negligible amount of fee for non-filled order for lifetime member. But it is too expensive (especially psychologically) to charge over 50 BTS for non-filled order to basic members.
Now, we have 10 BTS fee for both filled/non-filled order. I would suggest to keep the fee at the current level (10 BTS or 9.9 BTS, as many merchants do).

The reasons are as follows

1. Higher fee can drive out common users. They first want to taste our product, but too high fee can barrier them
2. This fee can be additional. Many UIA, such as TRADE.BTC, already have market fee of 0.2% (same level as other exchanges). So we may have more expensive fee system than centralized exchanges.
3. 800% increase can be seen as too arbitrary. We'd rather keep the current fee system until the committee is decentralized. (now 10 of 11 is under control of BM)

Technical Support / How to setup multisig account in GUI?
« on: October 25, 2015, 04:17:30 am »
Thanks to Xeroc's document, I can understand how multisig works. But I am having hard time with setting up multisig account in GUI. Especially, when I tried to change active permssion (33/33/33 weight and 51 threshold), I met Missing Active Authority error.
Can someone explain how to?

General Discussion / Some statistics are needed
« on: October 22, 2015, 09:53:36 pm »
To measure profitability of the BTS 2.0 and promote marketing, some statistics would be useful.

I can suggest,

1) Total amount of BTS reduced from the day one
2) The amount of burnt(reserved) BTS for each types of transaction (creating accounts, upgrading accounts, transfer, market order...)
3) Claimed/unclaimed balances

Anything else in your mind?

General Discussion / Let's Lower Trading Fee
« on: October 22, 2015, 10:36:21 am »
Currently trading fee is 10 BTS for each order and 0 for cancellation. It is obviously lower than transfer fee, only 1/4 of it. However, I want to argue for lowering trading fee for several reasons.

First, we can attract more users from centralized exchanges. "Almost zero fee" can be a good catch phrase. Our most important product is the exchange platform and we need to advertise it. Luring new users with lower fees first, considering a profit then (Just curious, how many BTS are reduced from trading?)

Second, lowering trading fees can lead to much frequent orders. Unlike transfer, people are more likely to do order when the fee is low. That is, lowering trading

Third, most importantly, we need market makers. In the centralized exchanges, they place orders several thousands times a day or even more, because the exchanges do not charge for "unfilled" orders (but we do). 10 BTS per filled order is not that bad. But for every unfilled order is horrible.

Lowering trading fees can be a temporary option, like only 3 months. When we have enough user base, then we can calculate the real numbers.

Tips are appreciated! Thanks!

Muse/SoundDAC / In Contact with Exchanges?
« on: October 16, 2015, 05:58:20 pm »
For good start of MUSE, I think the devs should contact exchanges in advance of the launch at Oct 26th. If can, providing them testing version and genesis file may help the integration. Are devs contacting exchanges now?

Technical Support / Litewallet, White screen after clicking "Retry"
« on: October 15, 2015, 07:42:58 pm »
I'm using litewallet .287. When I first run the program, the connection status is not connected. It soon changes to connected, but when I click retry, the screen becomes white and nothing works. Windows 10 64bit.
