I think the key of success for the internal exchange network is market making, especially between each exchange's IOU.
If anyone can easily get participated in market making with their own risks (but with profits too), this brings an active exchange network.

For this, can Bitshares 2.0 provide simple but powerful market-making software for laypeople? (e.g. .exe program for windows users. They surely CLI client simultaneously)

I looked at Ripple's gatewayd (https://github.com/ripple/gatewayd) and thought that it is awesome.

If BTS 2.0 provide similar open-source gateway, or CCEDK-like exchange, it would be great.

After the break-even point of my registration fee, I decided to update my delegate pay rate to 77 percent, hoping luck for DAC PLAY.
Why don't delegates, especially non-dev guys, update your pay-rate to 77%?

IIRC, current memo size is 51 bytes. Will it be remained in 2.0 or will become longer or shorter? (My preference is longer memo size)

General Discussion / The Key is Burning BTS

Currently, the supply of BTS is increasing about 148k every day. In terms of ROA, it equals to 2.2% annually. This means investors are losing 2.2% of value while holding BTS for a year. But what happens if 68k BTS are burned every day?

If so, ROA would be about 1%. This number is greater than financial industry's ROA (e.g. JP Morgan's annual ranges from 0.74~0.9%). This not only attract investor but also increase its value (i.e. Holding 1 cent value of BTS will become 1.01 cent after a year). Given the increased price and if the burning amount keep consistent (68k a day), the amount of burn in terms of USD will also increase, and this further promote price again.

Since my English is not that good, I cannot expound my idea (also this idea is very crude). But in my opinion, burning BTS is the key of the growth.

Any comments are appreciated.

For traditional investors, especially value investors who should be our one of potential target, market indicators such as EPS, PER, and PBR are very important because they directly show the status of a company. As a decentralized COMPANY, BitShares can have these kind of indicators. So I tried to calculate them. All numbers are based on six-month period.

1. Profit : I assume profits as decreased amount of shares (burned fee).
  2014/11/13 : 2,488 million BTS
  2015/05/13 : 2,511 million BTS
  Difference   :   -13 million BTS
  Profit = -13 million * current price ($0.0039) =  - $50,700 (deficit)

2. EPS
  $50,700 / 2,511 million BTS = - $0.0000202

3. PER = $0.0039 / - $0.0000202 = -193.06

4. PBR and ROE = N/A


Any comments are more than welcome.

In the first model, all burned fees were considered as a profit.
In the first dilution model, transaction fees, UIA registration fees, etc. were burned and can be considered as a profit.
But now, I cannot find any profit model for shareholders. Company should earn profits. So what kind of profits is our DAC earning now?

Edit: I found one... burned fees when not-100% delegates generate blocks. But this will disappear when all delegates are 100%.
