General Discussion / Re: Removing BTS inflation after July

At present there is no communication infrastructure built into the accounts.

If there was at least a series of notifications that went out via email or SMS (transaction paid out of the users account).. then there can be a few attempts made well in advance to notify of the pending termination.

This way we can still have cleanup while ensuring real accounts will get a response from people still wanting too keep them.

We need a communication medium for this to happen though.. we don't have that yet. I would suggest this is a good middle ground to satisfy both sides.

Good news?  They likely processed this stuff manually.  The fact they are changing plans means that maybe they realized people were just happy to remove all their coins when given a chance.  (I've been waiting.)  They're going to rebuild it now?  Huh?  Well let people continue to remove their coins and then when you have a rewrite done open back up.

This is just an excuse to not pay people and is NEVER good news except that snapshots now have a >0% chance of being delivered.

Yeah it's a stale.. we've gone from cold wallet theft to complete rebuild of a system baring most but not all coin accounts...

We are recording video clips at the bunker today for a video production.

What kind of things would you like for us to +5% include in the video?

Focus on what makes it a fortress.  That can be used to project settee and also to tie into the "from war to peace" theme.

Well.. I did mention the fact that you could plop an entire cargo container ship on top of the bunker and it would handle it just fine. Any other building or data center it would crush like a tin can. :)

The entrance and the trees around it. The sky. The kitchen and the electricity generators. Maybe the house you live in, the boss house. Maybe a map and then zoom in, like they do it in tv. Am looking forward to see it!

We don't really have trees around it... its mostly cleared right next to the airport. Yes, we have a private airport right next to the bunker we can use for both shipping and receiving complete with full customs clearance service. We still have Hercules carriers land there from time to time.

We did to the kitchen and the generators! The house I live in? I am guessing maybe you mean the room, but I don't have one. Humm.. we could do something with google maps maybe to zoom into our location. Neat idea... but from the maps we just look like a big patch of grass. :)

We spent so many hours doing takes today, I just hope we got good clips we can use.

General Discussion / Re: Bytemaster and Mumble - A Proposed Solution
« on: March 01, 2015, 04:01:03 am »
I don't see how unrecorded sessions help the matter. Share is a share is a share regardless of what medium it takes place in, or the ease at which it can be disseminated and access by others.

I think the only solution to all of this is to stop talking about whats coming, and start talking about what is.

If you want to continue the mumble updates with Dan.. let him talk about new features that were introduced in the last update and how they can be applied in different ways. This is something I have found he is good at... giving examples of applying bitshares technology to help understand it better.

This eliminates the danger of 'fedspeak', eliminates the speculation fears.. and is simply an update on what is already currently in the open and is helping to promote its value.

Question time would have to be about what we currently have going on.. and suggestions can be given as well for consideration.

There is no problem in recording this.. on the contrary.. we would likely want to promote it.

The off the record 'tell us the future' stuff kinda reeks of the same kind of 'insider trading' stuff that all of us on the outside have watched happen in places like Congress in the US where they get to hear about all thats coming before it happens and get to make moves accordingly.

BitShares will grow with visionary entrepreneurs, not with being told bedtime stories by daddy Dan to fuel our bitDreams... not to sound harsh but that's a fact.. and sooner we stop being afraid of the dark, the sooner all of us who have the potential to become shining beacons can start to shine instead of standing in the shadows of I3.

Stan said somewhere when this all went down that bitshares is growing up.. from my current understanding and perspective on all this.. I can see that is what is happening now.

This is my 'counter' proposal regarding holding meetings if there are going to be any. Hold reviews of releases as they happen. If this is how things start to happen then naturally this gives plenty of time and preparation for whatever PR Bitshares has in place to decide on or approve whatever Dan might want to say about the releases and even allow them to align their messaging for higher impact. Good on all fronts I think.
