Nevermind, the "Lookup Balances" now worked and I could claim my BTS!

Technical Support / Importing Protoshares wallet to BitShares 2.0
« on: January 04, 2017, 07:35:37 pm »
I have a problem getting my protoshares into Bitshares 2.0.

Here's what I did:

- import protoshares wallet into bitshares client 0.9.3c -> It worked, I see the whole amount of protoshares/BTS in the 0.9.3c wallet
- export 0.9.3c wallet via console into keys.json
- start BitShares 2.0 client, create a wallet - not an account! - and import the 0.9.3c keys.json. -> 6 keys available, amount of BTS is correct, everything went ok.

The problem here is: I do not see my (imported) balance anywhere.

So I created an account  - but did not see my imported BTS anywhere.
Then I tried to import the 0.9.3c wallet again. Error: it has already been imported.

So I created a new wallet with a new account and then imported the 0.9.3c keys.json again. -> 6 keys available, amount of BTS is correct, everything went ok.

But still I can't see my imported amount of protoshares/BTS anywhere.

Can anybody tell me where to look for my imported BTS? I hope I'm just too blind too see them.

Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee Status Update

I'm not following every thread, so my question is:
Is there a way to quickly check the status of the own Keyhotee founder ID?
(I mean like an online check which just says "Your ID will be in the genesis block" or "will NOT be..." or "is currently unknown"... something like that)

BitShares PTS / Re: GPU Mining and the market price of PTS
« on: January 16, 2014, 12:37:45 pm »
I was aiming originally for CPU only and it seems I was more successful than others that have gone before me, but not perfectly.
Could you explain that a little more? What is the problem creating a coin that can only be mined by CPU?
Your answer sounds like it's impossible to create a CPU-only coin, because you have tried to and put a high bounty on what you thought was the solution. Why didn't you know what others (GPU miner creators) now know when you were programming it?
Knowing how the GPU miners work, could you create a CPU only coin now?

Holy crap, abra and gorgorom, which part of "This thread is not meant for support or install questions." didn't you understand?

Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee Founder ID Registration Process

I understand Keyhotee is delayed for one month. Is there any way at all to get a Founders ID at this point?

No.

BitShares PTS / Re: Some Questions about PTS mining on ypool with yam.

So is there anything I can do to improve my CPM?
For about $60 a month you could get a faster server. For example:
https://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produkte_rootserver/ex40
from which I get about 340CPM.

If founder registration is opened again, I'd want my PTS back, since I donated under very specific conditions.

+1

Keyhotee / Re: How many Founder IDs have been registered?
« on: January 06, 2014, 07:28:59 am »
From the newsletter:

There are about 340 official Keyhotee Founders who actually funded the IDs they registered. Their
total donations, converted to USD on December 24 (BTC at $658.36 and PTS at $12.78) amounted to
$71,484.34. We counted those donations as the first AngelShares auction, so Founder’s received about
1.8 AngelShares per ProtoShare donated. The remaining 199 auctions are for the public.

That said I did grow up here and so Speak and sound American and think your reverse bias is far worse because it is intentional.
Yes, I sounded a little harsh there, sorry. As I meant by "lump-sum", it shouldn't sound like I'm having prejudices against every american because of their governments attitude.

As mentioned in some other thread, the name takes getting used to. And in the end nothing matters less than a name if the product is good.

BitShares PTS / yam (yvg1900) miner performance comparison
« on: January 03, 2014, 02:29:17 pm »
As performance information is cluttered through various threads I would like to use this one to specifically talk about the performance of yvg1900's miners (e.g. "yam" from https://mega.co.nz/#F!h0tkXSxZ!f62uoUXogkxQmP2xO8Ib-g ) for ProtoShares.

I'd like to know your miner setup and how you optimize your miners to get the best possible performance.
This thread is not meant for support or install questions. It should just give an overview of mining speeds / optimal miner configurations.

My current setup:

CPU: Intel i7-4770 (Quad-Core Haswell) 3.40GHz
RAM: 32 GB DDR3 RAM
OS: Ubuntu 13.10 (64bit)
Software: yam-yvg1900-M7i-linux64-haswell

PTS Agg. CPM (512 MB): 325 (AV=12 after AV-optimization)
PTS Agg. CPM (1024 MB): 336 (AV=31 after AV-optimization)
PTS Agg. CPM (2048 MB): 318 (AV=13  after AV-optimization)

I'm running with "&donation-interval=100".

"Keyhotee" sounds super duper americanized.
It's an american product invented by americans. And we all know how proud americans are of their country and how most of them think america is superior to the rest of the world. So it's quite normal for americans with their horizon often limited to the borders of the US to "require" the rest of the world to adopt their pronounciation.
Sorry for being a bit "lump-sum". :)

For me "Quixote" is pronounced more like "keyshot". But I'm not from god's own country, so... ;)

6) I do not want memory coin to be mentioned anywhere but a list of other 3rd party DACs that honor protoshares, in other words it should be a footnote in the protoshares subsection and not linked all over our site.  No offense to FreeTrade, but his coin did not honor the 10% required to get our official backing and promotion and we want to encourage 10% honoring in future DACs even by 3rd parties.
Very good!
IMHO the only thing FreeTrade did right is being the first to create/release a PTS honoring DAC. While others are still talking, he just did it. Just for everybody to see and experience what it feels like having PTS and getting something for them. Which is a good thing.
(Just to be complete: what he did wrong is 1. creating a simple, unnecessary "pump & dump" coin and 2. honoring PTS with a very low amounts of that coin. Seems (feels) more like an attempt to promote his coin than to support PTS/DACs.)

General Discussion / Re: Best system to run Keyhotee on?
« on: December 30, 2013, 10:44:40 am »
It's just my preference. I would never suggest that anyone create a private key on closed source software. By default I assume if its not open source it's got a backdoor otherwise it would be open source. I admit this is a paranoid point of view and it's probably safe to generate a private key on Windows 8 if you never connect that computer to the Internet and only use it for the purpose of key generation.

OS X is closed source software.

The genesis block will launch as soon as we have the Public Keys.
What are you going to do if you do not get all public keys (e.g. somebody (founder) died in the meantime).
Will there be a deadline to send in public keys? Will there be a PTS refund (the founder in a coma gets when he wakes up again)?
What happens to the ID that did not make it into the genesis block? Will the "second best" bidder get it or will it be freely available as a "normal" ID?
