For mac, your wallet.dat is located at  ~/Library/Application Support/Protoshares/
Does the QT can open itself? There is a backup wallet option in "File" tab. And you can try "-rescan" in the Debug Window->Console.
If the QT can't be opened, you may need to backup the wallet file, then delete the Protoshares folder in Application Support and try reopen the QT.

1. Initial difficulty and difficulty adjustment
Would you consider a dynamic difficulty adjustment? Means the difficulty will adjust block by block instead of every 2016 or 4032 blocks. It needs limiting the adjustment range, but I saw it is working well in some of the altcoins. Considering 5 mins block interval is relatively long, dynamic adjustment will be more flexible. And you can have a much higher initial difficulty to prevent what happened to Protoshares, then let the network adjust itself and not worrying hash power too low.

2. Block mature in 6 months
It is good to prevent the cloud server, because people have to hold the bitshares for 6 months before they sell it.
But it is not effective to block pools. Pool can change the payout to p2pool, just like what 54.238.185.113 is doing now, let the rewards mature locally, instead of store in the pool. Something need to be done to block p2pool/immediate payment if you decide so.

3. Solo mining lottery
It is easy to say that the rewards is same base on math. But after 4 years of Bitcoin, everyone is used to pool mining. I would say 90% of miners would prefer 0.5 stable payment everyday instead of a chance of hitting a block every 3 months. The difficulty and hash power is changing significantly time to time, even myself want to be paid for what I am contributing to the network right now. It is small amount everyday, but I know my miner is working.

Is it possible to build an embedded p2pool inside the bitshares client with a fully optimized miner inside? The entire network working as one pool.

Amazon, how much PTS should you need to pay today for this forum for a full year? Maybe you can just ask for it on the forum.

Domain+hosting+SSL(not implemented yet) is little bit more than 200 USD/y. But I don't like the current hosting, may move in near future.

General Discussion / Re: Is buypts.com a scam?
« on: November 19, 2013, 06:45:21 pm »

Fair enough, can we at least establish that there is no scamming going on on Buypts.com ?

Are you the owner of the buypts site?

The original ID first announcing the site is banned by myself. I send my warning not post the site link as ad in other topics, but should focusing the announcement topic itself. But the ID kept posting here and there instead of solving users' problem in his own thread. Then I triggered the ban. After that I did not receive any explanation from the owner, and more than two IDs had reported losing their PTS or BTC on the site.

Before the site contact mods and mods can confirm with former victims that the problems are solved, butpts is treated as scam and listed here.

I think you're confusing Buypts.com with a different website. This is the first time our website has ever been advertised on bitsharestalk.org. You're probably talking about ptsbuy.com, which is not affiliated with Buypts.com.

edit:

Thanks for clearing this. No harm done :)

I will edit my previous post and make apology there also. But I won't change the OP by Evan, since it is a question mark post. Is this solution fine with you?

I double checked, it seems a misunderstanding from our side.

The original scam is ptsbuy dot com instead of buypts.com, and the ID i referred is ptsbuy. So here is my apology about the scamming statement I made.

It it ok to have affiliation in your link, but you need to clearly state that in your post.

They will be visible for web browsing just from many different sources :)

That is good and I can retire  :D.

This post does not follow the forum rules, why should it stay up?

We open this board not only for the reporting after the scam happened, but also for any accusation user want to make based on their observation. The scam reporting format is merely a suggestion,  it is totally ok and allowed if user is suspicious about an exchange site and report here. I believe the site owner will contact mods if they think they are misunderstood or the accusations are unfair.

We want to build an open community for discussion. Format is not a big issue, although we suggest users follow the format in some particular boards.

I've just added support for PTS on my website: http://coinplorer.com/PTS
It's still importing though, not yet up to date (see importation status on http://coinplorer.com/Console/Status2).
Unfortunately PTS is not yet supported on major exchanges so I don't have historical prices, I'll try to find a an exchange to provide prices.

try "addnode 94.23.215.174 add"
the best node so far.

Is there any screenshot ready to be released? Maybe the client GUI, messages, profile, transactions, etc, anything we can have a basic idea what it will look like.
