General Discussion / Paycoin - Joining GoCoin
« on: December 23, 2014, 06:04:01 am »
Hey all, popped into my home network for a few and wanted to comment on PayCoin.  Aside from all the debate about it's real value and how it's being reported on Coinmarketcap, here's the real concern.

http://www.coindesk.com/gocoin-gains-strategic-investment-software-development-push/

"Digital currency payments processor GoCoin has received a new strategic investment from US-based mining company GAW Miners."

"No date has been set for GoCoin's expected integration of paycoin. According to Beauregard, there is a need to look into new coins as the market evolves and the needs of merchants change."

Since GoCoin is targeting iGaming and high risk merchants as part of their plan, it's an issue for us.  I would recommend we look at a similar arrangement.  We can't expect Gocoin to do the work for us, it make take some funds and development resources to assist.

Alright, have a good one everyone!

General Discussion / See you guys in late January - Newsletter Rough Ready
« on: December 18, 2014, 04:40:25 am »
The NullStreet crew finished the rough draft of their newsletter.  To give you an idea of the detail, it's 15 pages long through Google Docs.  I'm waiting for Method-X to give me the final thumbs up and it'll be shipped to Stan and Cass.  Method-X will handle any last minute edits and it will be combined with Stan's article. This newsletter will be sent out by Stan to our current mailing list and hopefully pushed hard through social media.

I already notified I3 and Nullstreet, I'm leaving for an extended vacation that will keep me out of contact until the end of January. I never had a 'no laptop' vacation, I'm excited about the prospect. Bags are packed, just waiting for the final ok. Any leads that come my way during that time with be sent to the marketing guys each night.   I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as all of us enjoyed writing it.  So much to look forward to in 2015!

General Discussion / Re: What's the realistic BTS potential?
« on: December 18, 2014, 02:39:34 am »
Just interested to know what people realistically think BTS price could achieve. $1 seems to me to be  very achievable for such a technology, probably much more.

Thanks
M

A trillion dollar market cap would push the price per share into the hundreds. If Bitshares delivers on what it promises a trillion dollars is possible. Most brokerage firms worth their salt manage a few trillion.

Realistically I think $10 is acheivable. (roughly 30 billion)  I am curious on what other people think.I might be crazy but I see huge potential if Bitshares works.

If we continue to consolidate resources within NullStreet and everyone contributes a little of their talent consistently, I can see us hitting +$1 in a year or two.   Looking at Ripple's rise, I'm a believer IF everyone continues to do their part.

I've started sending this out on Twitter, a few nice retweets already.  Is anyone:

- Posting in Bitcointalk?
- Posting on Reddit?
- Tweeting to non crypto areas such as Libertarian, Open Source etc ?

Any help spreading the word is appreciated.

Give it to Stan. He can check with Brian and, if necessary, follow up on it himself.

I'm wrapping up a massive newsletter for Stan by tomorrow night that covers all the different marketing and business development efforts. Everyone on NullStreet has been busting ass to give me their specific summaries. There will be no guessing, everyone will be able to quickly assess where we are spending our energy on Nullstreet. We're also providing updates for products such as Sparkle and Play.

For example, I've listed the contact information for any writer that's talked about Bitcoin in the last 5 or so months in a Google Doc.  I went through Coindesk and hunted down contact information for any company that might be beneficial over the past 4 months (payment processors, exchanges, on/off ramps etc...).  We have interview requests coming in and marketing is making contact with these companies I mentioned above.   While I understand the argument that we need to wait for a mature product, this prep work is essential to have done now... not later.

All these efforts will be consolidated into Stan's newsletter.

General Discussion / Re: Updates From Adam
« on: December 17, 2014, 03:45:45 am »
I'd suggest short term priorities are to get BTS known as widely as possible; and talk up bitUSD and other bit-assets that are available already. Future DACs are for later. If BitShares can establish itself as the dominate asset market, then it will prevent others stealing our thunder. On the back of an established and sizeable asset market, other DACs will become easier to sell. The hard work marketing is needed now, getting traction before BitShares is just one among many. If bitUSD and others like bitGBP and bitCAD are not there in time, then central banks might opt to do something themselves that could compromise those markets.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with you wholeheartedly here. The time is now! I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make BTS and bitUSD a success.

Adam, you're approved on the main Google marketing list.  I use hpenvy or my twitter which is Bitcoinboost.

General Discussion / Re: So disappoint about BTS
« on: December 17, 2014, 02:56:37 am »
Since the first version of BTS wallet, half a year passed. No substantial progress about BTS.

Get a new idea everyday and never realize it. One beautiful bubble after one beautiful bubble.

The two most important things wallet stability and market promotion still the same as 6 month ago.

No light wallet, if someone want to use BTS wallet, must have a computer with high-performance. spend too much time for synchronization.
The compatibility of wallet never makes a progress. hard to use in windows 32 version.

For promotion, much more worse. It is the era of internet. spend too much time off-line is useless.
The Chinese community has a media bts.hk,
has three big markets (btc38,bter,yunbi),
has an exchange platform (tradebts),
has a bet platform (http://btsgame.org/),
has a superlab (BitSuperLab),
has a bts robots to active the inside trading (https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=12286.0)
has a e-shop using bts asserts "yunduo", http://www.yunaigou.com/
Especially, we have more than 100 active weibo accounts which talk about and promote BTS everyday.

I want to know except bubbles and bubbles, what really thing the English community has done
No media records the news and progress
No English market for BTS (polo and bittrex is not a market), BTC-E, bitstamp is a market
No news and topic at bitcointalk
No twitter promotion

Let me help with the summary:

1. Marketing Updates Since NullStreet was Created

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11667.msg153654#msg153654

2. BTC-E

There hasn't been a new coin added since PPC back in the day

3. No media records the news and progress

I've recently submitted 7 leads to marketing interviews/articles

I've submitted leads for on/offramp which already looks promising from phone and in-person meetings with Max and Michael.

4. bitstamp

Not going to happen.

5. No news and topic at bitcointalk

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=861047.0

Bitcointalk is an alt sewer.  With Max's Bitshares.tv, we'll have an option of posting in the main Bitcoin threads

No excuses, we have SOOO much work to do.  With that being said, Nullstreet has been working their butts off to make it happen.  We love the efforts of the Chinese marketing and look forward to bring our level up to the same quality.

I have chatted to BM about this.  I am not sure if it is kosher.  Just so everyone knows I am/was one of Brian Pages underlings.  I already receive performance based remuneration.  My original thought was that a delegate role was double dipping.   BM suggested that a delegate role would be supplemental and perfectly valid.  He brought me around on the topic somewhat.

 +5%

That was why I posted my delegate proposal for the media portion - for supplemental funds to assist in the buildout of the unfortunate part of marketing that isn't fun - paying for exposure.

Either way, keep rocking what you are doing.
[/quote]

With us getting closer to the 1.0 launch, this is absolutely the wrong time to nickle and dime.  I support a delegate for you and Bitmarket. We can evaluate the results and modify voting the following month or two. Now is the time to go balls to the wall.

As some of you have heard I have started my own blog.  I plan on using this blog to detail many questions that come up as I feel inspired.  Today I felt the need to clarify our decision to use Public Domain.  Eventually this blog will be hosted at bitshares.org, for now you can see what I have to say here:

http://bytemaster.github.io/update/2014/12/17/Why-Public-Domain.html

Pushing through Twitter now.

Max I would like to buy a hard-copy if possible.
There will be a hardcopy soon, but not this year.

Once the plug-ins are available, do you plan on selling for bitUSD?
