Any additional thoughts on this topic? BM, do you have a timeline in mind when you want to present it to Coinbase?

Why not create a bitUSD tipping bot which would work exactly the same way as current bitcoin tipping bot on all of reddit?
No point in tipping people who are already readers of the bitshares subreddit; they've already found bitshares - better to get people who don't know about it, talking about it.
I like it - perhaps there's a way we can incorporate into changetip? Get them to accept BitUSD as tips?
Doesn't look like bter has done yet, any word?
They are building the new wallet now. We had to ask exchanges to hold until the transaction malleability fix was merged from BTS 0.4.26.
What does 'in light of recent events' mean? Did something actually happen or does this just refer to people bitching about the BP and the official marketing effort?
It's people bitching... people who are way too in love with their investments and most likely betting more than they can afford to lose. An old trading rule is never fall in love, it clouds your judgement. This is very common though in almost every asset class.
Yes a statement about what the core-devs marketing strategy is. Usually the employer makes the announcement when a high level employee is removed and provides an accompanying statement.
Should we still be waiting for the HUGE marketing campaign that will happen or now we should rely on nullstreet marketing for another year?
no more marketing directors please... I would prefer if AGS funding is used to seriously pump the hell out of BTS rather than pay a new marketing director. XRP is getting pumped with no news whatsoever and everyone is talking about beating bitcoin suddenly. That is all the marketing we need..
Hey Forum,
I'm in the BitShares offices up in Virginia with Dan and the devs today. I had lunch with Dan and we discussed the exciting new chapter BitShares is starting in 2015. However, my own chapter with BitShares is now coming to a close. I've made the decision to resign any sort of official role with the organization in order to persue other opportunities.
I can say without a doubt that some of the new marketing talent that's come on board recently with BitShares and the grassroots marketing team have incredible plans in the works to take the community and business to the next level. I'm thrilled to see what they can do in the upcoming year.
I believe not only in BitShares but in the ideals of this community and those who lead it. It's been an exciting and wild ride over the last year or so and I am so incredibly proud to have been a small part of it. Thank you for the passion and energy you all have brought to this project and for those of you who went above and beyond to put your blood sweat and tears into it.
I can tell you one thing is for sure about this organization: The level of integrity, commitment, and talent with those I worked with are second to none. I trust these people fully and consider them my friends and truly amazing people. I encourage you to continue investing your time, money and energy in this grand vision that is BitShares.
Wishing each and every one of you the very best in all you do,
Brian
I dont think there is a specific number to target. Instead, vote for paid delegates that you believe will produce more value than they cost.
As the market cap increases, this bar becomes higher, and thus you would be looking for more value per delegate (a team of people rather than 1, for example), or you would be looking to vote for them at levels below 100% pay.
Well said. If they are good people who have proven that they'll add value, then I'll vote for all of them. And right now, I'd vote for a dozen more marketing delegates like Methodx and Matt608.
I think the root of this problem is Brian's failure to engage the community on the same level as other core BTS team members, rather than a need to know what he has or has not done with funds.
Most of the BTS dev team has a high level of engagement with the community.
The community expects transparency, and so it should, however marketing is one area where it is not necessarily in the best interests of the shareholders to be transparent.
Even Methodx took his marketing efforts to an invite-only forum... and his presence in the open forum has since diminished considerably.
Brian could do a better job of posting updates and being more active in the community.
That said, I think a forensic audit *after* Brian's marketing strategy goes live is a great idea and would certainly help with deciding who gets a marketing delegate position going forward...
I I think everyone just needs to relax... Obviously the crypto bear market is weighing on everyone. Bp is more of a regular guy trying to target regular people. It would make no sense if he started marketing bts to Joe six pack before 1.0... It would do much more damage if the main marketing push was going on while all these changes and forks are happening. How is bp suppose to constantly explain to people that network shutdowns, rebranding, air drops and that it takes 3 transactions to buy bts and 4 to buy bitusd is normal. U guys were all on board with his marketing strategy earlier and a from what I can tell the plan has been consistent.
