General Discussion / Re: CoinCecko * BitShares #11 * Developer 59%

How handles our coinmarketcap interactions? If they are willing to contact Coingecko, that would be a big help.  If not, we can handle it on Nullstreet.

The decisions we make now, will have an effect on further BTS adoption.

Great statement. It reminds me how wonderful it would be to see an official marketing/project plan and the work that's been done over the last 4 months. As for Matt's delegate, Elmato and Fran2k support Matt's initiative and those guys are already making a difference at the Bitcoin Embassy.

I feel like you have valid criticisms on the writing, I just want to offer a different point of view.

bing returns 36000 results, not 4800

alexa ranking is 232.000 position, not 470.000

I haven't checked anything else but I can bet that all their "stats" are wrong.

I only brought it up because it was referenced in a recent article on CCN.

The article mentions 1 minute talks to announce crypto projects or events, huge networking opportunity that live streamed.  Who do we have in the area that can attend?

Anyone else think this assessment is off?

it points us in the direction we have to go. At the moment we are week in the public/social points. Development should be higher, but i am not sure if github is correct counted.

I'm comfortable with the social score assessment, it's the development percentage that doesn't make sense to me.

I see BitReserve are going to be in attendance at the Beunos Aries meet up.

I've been talking with Juan Llanos from BitReserve and it seems he is attending tomorrow, lets see what it turns out

Meanwhile our official marketing team never even acknowledged that market.

BitReserve do really do get to be a fox in the BitShares henhouse.

Challenging the BitAsset brand (which we've had a year to cement), key markets and there's worse they can do too, but I won't mention it, they've already potentially taken the BitOil idea from this thread.

While I doubt they got the idea from the thread, you bring up a valid point about BitAsset branding. You don't need a polished wallet to start introducing the brand into the market. Oh well, that window is gone.  Now we need to take a different approach to an awareness campaign.

We are also officially working with matt608 and supporting his three month plans for his delegate campaign.[2]

If everyone wants to see more of these great initiatives, let's get the funding rolling.

Thoughts on BlackCoin's double deposit two party escrow?

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2fil2x/does_openbazaar_plan_on_implementing_twoparty/

"For example, I want to sell you a bauble. You deposit your payment into a multi-sig address that requires both our consent to release the funds. I can verify that deposit before sending you the bauble.

In addition to that, we also agree to deposit a certain amount of funds into a second multi-sig address that requires both our consent, to be used as collateral against the trade.

If I don't satisfy the trade, you won't release me the funds. If I satisfy the trade and you still don't release the funds, then you risk losing those funds and your collateral. This is important, because it means we both have more to lose by scamming each other, than by completing an honest trade.

I have contacted bitmarkets.  They said that they would be willing to do a fork so that their bitmarkets program works with bitshares.

The want to charge $200/hour as a consulting fee... I mentioned applying for a delegate job but they don't seem interested.

Does this seem like something that we would want to do???

This is their website: Voluntary.net and  http://cofactorsoftware.com

If its open source I can do it.

How is your delegate push coming along?  I really want to see you working on Open Bazaar and bitBazaar. :)

Say No To Closed Source Marketing

I'm struggling with the logic. We have no problem being open source in development, even with the potential for competitors to use our tech. Ok, but when it comes to marketing, the secret sauce is too sensitive to share?

It doesn't make sense to me. Look at the progress at Nullstreet. We have the opportunity to question and be critical of each others ideas which leads to a better product.

I speak for myself. Could I please get an official answer? I'm not interested in analogies, just a direct response. Maybe I don't understand the weird dynamic. Maybe a separate marketing and business director role needs to be defined as mentioned above?

Do we have an ETA for the next newsletter that gets blasted to our subscribers?

Long, long before this...

Working on it now.

Do you need additional help on future issues so we're able to make it closer to a monthly release?

Can you provide some more info on this please? What coin are they talking about for starters? Who are those guys and what does this have to do with BTER? And what is your take on it all?

BitBay. It had its ICO a few weeks ago - on BTER, and has dropped 75% ever since. The whole thing appears to be a big scam. I know I lost a btc in this debacle. From what I read in the BitBay forum discussion on bitcointalk, accusations of BTER owner being involved are being thrown around.

That looked like a train wreck from the original post. I'm sure that community will figure it out until the next 1000+ BTC project comes along on Bitcointalk. BTER have been nothing but good to us, that's all I care about personally. Bad situation for anyone who lost money.
