If people are trying to censor and hide stuff like this, can we turn it around and actually get it more exposure à la Streisand effect?

General Discussion / Re: London meetup
« on: September 28, 2014, 08:49:58 pm »
Ooops, forgot to update this thread for anyone keeping an eye on it to see how we got on. I am pleased to report that myself, aloha and trader where able to meetup on Sat 20th. I didn't end up recording anything in the end unfortunately though. It didn't seem appropriate, we were in a noisy bar and also because it was the first London BitShares meetup it was more speculating on our future as a (hopefully) growing group rather than any official announcements. I will probably be setting up a group for us on meetup.com some time in the future. However, the feeling among the three of us was that there was little point of doing this at the moment because we are still so small and also because whilst our understanding of BitShares is growing each day, we are not yet confident that we will be able to best represent BitShares in London to people outside the community until our knowledge grows a little more.

Myself and Aloha also went along to the Coinscrum meetup in London last Tuesday which is a meetup for people new to Bitcoin. We are starting to make ourselves known among the wider crypto community in London, specifically the organizers of these types of events. This is because, whilst we also have an interest in the wider crypto community ourselves, the people that attend and run these events are tomorrows BitShares fanboys and potential future members and even organizers of our London BitShares community too.

With this in mind, I'm heading to Vitalik's Ethereum Talk on Oct 3rd http://www.meetup.com/ethereum/events/201711162/  If anyone is in London and interested in coming along too, sign up quickly as there are only a few slots left. We can also make the after party an unofficial London BitShares meetup.  :D

I have a few questions: How are you going to prove the draw is actually happening live and not just a prerecorded feed from earlier? How are you going to prove your "jet air machine" randomly selects numbers and isn't somehow rigged? Which trusted individuals or organisations have you invited to verify these things? Who are you, what is the name of your organization and why is there no contact information on your site other than an email address?

When will bitshare do this feat? Once investors have a clear path to different BitAssets available in X , it will be a helluva ride. :)

I predict before the end of this year.

General Discussion / New Announcement from Swarm Corp
« on: September 17, 2014, 03:55:31 am »
FYI Swarm Corp just made a new announcement: https://www.swarm.co/apply/

They are planning on choosing 5 new projects to put on their crowdfunding platform.

P.S. I love how on their main page they pretend to have an office in London, yet they are actually just outside Milton Keynes (if you don't know your UK geography, Milton Keynes ≠ London).

Hi, Edilliam. As of the 23rd of September, I'll be happy to discuss the NuBits implementation, but until that release date I cannot go into details. I apologize for being evasive, but I'm bound by my commitment to the team that the coordinated release message will be the first it is discussed publicly.

I can reiterate what Jordan Lee has already stated: that NuBits and Bitshares use completely different designs and it's virtually impossible that some random person on a forum could have come to the conclusion that Bitshares and NuBits had anything visually similar in their wallet designs (other than the standard elements required to meet the needs of our industry).

Also, from experience, it's very, very difficult to strap a gyroscope to a cryptoasset -- I applaud anyone who is able to get it to work! :)

That's understandable. Well, I look forward to the announcement next week.

Peercoin price has been going up last couple days. Could it be because of interest in Nubits?

As someone involved in the NuBits project, I'd like to know who has been making that statement. If it was in a post on a message board or Reddit, could you please point me to it so I can make sure that it is properly addressed?

Thank you in advance.

Welcome Mtinie. Would it be possible for you to summarize the Nubits project for us?

What do we want to talk about?

Introductions, plans, speculation + pipe dreams.

Aloha to all  :)

We could meet up this Saturday 20/09/2014 around 1pm around the centre somewhere. If date and time suits you guys please let me know so we can  decide together about the place.

aloha  :)

Count me in. Piccadilly is good for me too, anywhere central really. For recording, I can bring my field mic (Zoom H4n). But, if anyone has any problems with being recorded we don't have to and of course I can edit out any personal details, banter, shady business proposals etc...  :D

Nice! Been watching your stuff for a while. I always enjoy your interviews. A few months back I was was wondering what had happened to Edan Yago and his Honduras plan, couldn't find much online and then the very next day your interview with him popped up and answered all my questions.  :)

Maybe we need an inter-community delegate. Someone who can use their pay to translate or who can organize translations.
