You were trying to partially cover a short, twice inside 10 seconds? That's top speed.

Technical Support / Re: my btsx are lost
« on: March 15, 2015, 05:06:20 pm »
i register my account on the faucet.after registring  i  went to  my  bitshares client  and notice that  my address was still not register.my client  still indicates that  it is updating  blockchain.its been updating  for weeks.
i made the mistake  of sending btsx anyway  from poloniex to  the client thinking that  once i received btsx to my account that it would  automatically update itself. but it has not.

now my btsx are  nowhere to be found. its not on poloniex  and not on my client.
             please help

Your bitshares client needs to be fully synced to display recent incoming transactions. Is your problem resolved?

I can not refresh and have my transactions showing.
When will this be fixed?

error: Unterminated string

You are using 0.6.1 version client? What operating system?

I have upgraded to 0.6.2 but still can not see any transactions.
Rightclick and reload does not help.

Are you still having problems?

None of my acount names, balances and transaction history are showing

Fully synced 0.61 on Mavericks

type "wallet_list_my_accounts" in Console and both accounts listed

Go back to dashboard and one account is now showing  with balances, but no transaction history
GUI bug .. devs are tracking it down ..
you can quick fix it with right click -> refresh ..
right click where?
I have tried right clicking on every page , dashboard, exchange, delegates and transfer

I Try to right click on account name, and I get a box that shows briefly "Go Back" and "Reload"  but does not display long enough for me to click

The 'Go Back/Reload' element is indeed fickle on my 0.6.2 mac install. It requires a little patience/haste to be able to click the button on my low-spec macbook. But it works.

And from a purely academic point of view.
What would it take to add to the number of market pegged assets on the exchange?

I assume now that we sticking to the one blockchain to rule them all that new assets would simply be added to the current exchange.

Or would other assets need to be introduced on a forked blockchain with some kind of cross-chain trading?

I um, I believe, that when sufficient delegates provide price feeds for an asset pair, the market comes into being automatically.

A confirmed, simple fix for a terrifying bug.

They trade at a premium because it takes additional compensation to forfeit bitcoin in exchange for yet another particularly weak fiat.

today i wondered where i might find the privat key of my bitshares.
in the wallet i didnt find it
does such a thing exist in a bitshare wallet ?
and if where do i find it ?
thanks a lot for answers

Top right - username -> advanced -> console ->  wallet_dump_private_key

I hope that helps.

I expect Africans would rather use bitUSD than bitZAR bitGHS. Frankly, they might be safer holding bitBTC.

It would be great to see sufficient liquidity to support a whole universe of colourful assets, of course.

General Discussion / Re: 0.6.1 on Mac not syncing
« on: February 24, 2015, 12:30:20 am »
How much RAM are you running?  I had issues with syncing and stability using 4GB but now running smooth and synced quickly  with 16GB.  I've heard others having no issues with 8GB though.

I'm able to sync with 4GB Ram on a mac with the northern hemisphere's shittiest internet connection. Perhaps the world's. Seriously, I get just over 2mbs for the whole building to divide up. And that syncs.

Seems odd that the OP's sync stalled if using the most recent version from scratch. The way I approach a hard reset is by backing up (export wallet to json), deleting (renaming) the Application Support/Bitshares folder, then launching the latest version of the client, and importing my most recently exported json.

Clunky but it works.

Suggest substituting Poloniex for Bter on here, for the time being?

https://bitshares.org/deposit-withdraw

Again, I'd love to help.

page updated…

Bter.com back online.. god bless 'em.

I'm under the impression I need a @bitshares.org email address as a prerequisite to joining the party @ nullstreet.slack.com . Humph.

General Discussion / Re: Cannot recover wallet backup

Hi,

I did have this problem. I doubt the problem is selection of characters in passwords. I managed to work-around by launching an earlier version of the software - that I have put in my Trash for safe-keeping (and don't want to launch), created on Friday 12th December 2014, 113,364,444 bytes (sorry!).

This version allowed me to import my wallet with my funny password. I then shut down, renamed that app, and installed the current version. Relaunched, re-synced and re-exported my wallet json.

The json I was trying to import, that the new software gave me Error: invalid password (20001). for, does have exactly this formatting.

Without actually describing my password, it would seem certain that there is nothing wrong with our jsons or our passwords, but there is a problem with the recent 0.6.1 import.

Wallet doesn't let me log in.  Not the wrong password.  It simply seems to cut off the process of logging in a split second after I push the "unlock" button.

I think I've noticed this, you sometimes have to press the button twice?

Does this will version work on  on MAC OS 10.10 Yosemite (it only says Mavericks 10.9)?

Yosemite compatible, yes.

I'm able to sync with 4GB.

I am too, if I shut down all other processes. But I also have a machine with 16GB and it is much, much faster.

I have about 4 machines with 4GB a piece. :-(
