So today ARK does 25% of the daily volume of Bitshares, but yet ARK has double the market cap. Go figure.

I'd be very interested to find out. It can't hurt to try. There was a time when TransferWise refused payments to bitcoin exchanges.

General Discussion / Re: btsbots wallet release v0.0.1

Does anyone have a basic way to get started and actually profit? I have watched  both the video JohnnyBitcoin did and read the article and they only explain how to get BTSBOTS working.

What are some basic trading strategies one should know for setting the settings?

Because the Bitshares fees are so small, assuming mean reversion, almost any reasonably tight spread should be profitable, in the long run. You might like to keep your minimum order sizes in the $20+ range, because orders walk on this bot, given the anaemic trading volume.

For example, a trader is bullish on BTC, what would be the settings you would set?  2% on buy side and 1% on sell side?

That's one option, another method would be to trade with borrowed bitUSD debt, against accumulated equity in bitBTC tokens. Set a limit on the bot settings, for all currencies, so that your bot can gap when bitcoin moons.

What if you just want to create liquidity? would set  buy and sell to 1%in a larger more liquid market like CNY, USD, ETH, BTS?

A helpful contribution, to the success of Bitshares and its value in turn. Nothing wrong with going sub 1% on something like USD:EUR

What if you are bearish on a certain coin?

Borrow a modest amount of it (bitJPY), and sell it for something you're bullish about.

What if you just want to accumulate and make a small profit?

It's a question of having perfect information vs assuming mean reversion

I have trading for couple days now and seem to be losing money so far

Ah, but are you losing money 'according to your model'  :-\  ;D

It would be a terrible shame to lose Vikram.

General Discussion / Re: Why BitShares is being delisted from Bittrex?

Seriously, Bittrex is popular with my friends, but I only bothered to get account because they supported Bitshares. At the time.

Weird shit. I've never liked BIttrex, told anyone who will listen that Poloniex is a better service. As for Bitfinex not listing Bitshares, yet listing its unrealised clone (EOS).

Hodl time I reckon.

Any news here?

With improved DEX you would think there would be so more intrest in tje bot.

Indeed.
Volumes are still up. Are people using other bots now besides BTS Bots? I'd like to know the best options to add Dex liquidity now.

BTSBOTS.com is a fantastic solution right now.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Witness

How's that witness coming along? Don't forget to publish fuck-tonnes of price feeds for every imaginable bitAsset, as part of your pitch.

It would be a fork, and I'm quite happy to continue building on Bitshares 2.0.

It wouldn't hurt for a Bitshares clone sharedropped on EOS, because of the network effect between EOS apps sharing EOS infrastructure.

While we're keeping delegates in check, with an emphasis on price feeds (thanks to alt for remind us),

it would be nice to have price feeds data for more bitAssets than bitCNY. For example I'd like to know who to vote for and who not to vote for in terms of price feeds for:

http://cryptofresh.com/a/JPY
http://cryptofresh.com/a/BTC

Where can I get that data?

Monero is goging to pop. Anyway to short that sucker?

Well, you can't short it on the Bitshares DEX, sadly.

I wouldn't mind an electric bike.

If only I had some precious bitAssets.

This is a conceptual issue, part of what makes Bitshares brilliant, and yet so hated.

It's like the distinction between capital growth and dividends. Even relatively experienced coin hodlers want a yield on their numbers, via a debasement of their hodl. Ridiculous, when you actually think about it. Almost as problematic as being paid to vote for a Bitshares witness.

A fundamental of DPoS is that fat nodes get paid to do costly work for a decent cost:decentralisation tradeoff. Fuck a +5% The idea is that Bitshares will eventually turn profitable, partly because it controls its costs.
