General Discussion / Re: Decentraliced Dice Game is a awsome idea!

What if a % of the funds used to "gamble" using this were actually "burned"?

Lol instead of " house always wins"...the shareholders would be the true winners. Sounds like a great idea to me.

That's a fanastic idea!!! I like it!!!  +5% +5% +5% +5%

General Discussion / How Short the Russian Ruble Request
« on: January 31, 2015, 05:19:25 pm »
I have a request for Bytemaster, but only if he would like, an article on "How to Short the Russian Ruble on Bitshares". Basically I feel a little uncomfortable on how to short with Bitshares and there is very little volume, and article explaining how do it maybe with a video or photos would be nice. I would like to see someone else do it live before I do it myself.

I'm not a developer, so I can't do it, but I will vote up any delegate that works on it.

Is it possible to put the Shapeshift API in the Bitshares Wallet? It would make it easier for people to convert from one asset to the next inside the wallet.

new account numbers are meaningless. I can give you 300,000 new users with 1000USD.

what we need are not just new users, we need new users that can get interested in the system, and intend to understand it, and be able to understand it at last.

what we need is  to be heard, to be understood, and to be followed. It's not that easy.

sure it is, throw a penny in the street and someone will pick it up, sometimes you need to lure them in with a little bit of bait , hehehe

Also, I built some karma recently with my submission: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2tje0n/i_wake_up_to_read_my_wallstreet_journal_to_see/

And I'm voting up all of Bitshares articles on r/Bitcoin

I'm here to help Bitshares, I believe we can do it!!!

I'd like to create a community BitUSD Pot Jar. donkeypong has already expressed interest in donating and I'm sure other users would donate as well if it means more users on Reddit. Each new Bitshares subscriber get's a percentage of the pot, I say 5 cents is plenty. Once we have over 30,000 users on Bitshares Reddit we look more attractive than our current 760 users.

I don't know how to create a Pot Jar, maybe someone here can help me.

Great point donkeypong: We can improve the odds by tipping the right people!!!

well, we can increase to 5 cent tips, that should be enough. I've seen lots of users beg just to get any tip. And they will need to download the wallet in order to use their tip. Which means that step 1 download the wallet is already completed. They might later browse around and decide to play with the wallet.

Where do your figures come from? Do we know what the average user's average deposit would be? If you're crowdfunding it, some of us non-delegates might chip in also. But this really only makes sense once we have a 1.0 client and the website is all done.

30,000 divided by 1000 = .03

$1,000 = 30,000 new users

If all 100 delegates decided to give $100 in tips ($1000 total) to every new Bitshares subscriber at 3 cents per tip BitUSD

we could have an extra 30,000 users, I'd love to see the community on Bitshares Reddit grow, it's barely even growing, sometimes not doing anything.
