We lack a "Get listed on BitShares DEX" button on bitshares.org

Nice idea, Anyone disagree with this?

i say go for it!

Paging @cass

Edit:  One of our long time member, Adam listed his coin LTBcoin in counterparty.  Perhaps we can invite him to move LTBcoin to bts.

ok and what should happen when user hits the button?

Took the thought right out of my brain Cass. Getting "listed" involves much more than slapping a link on a website. We need a complete and simple step by step plan of what it takes for people who know very little about BitShares to integrate on our DEX. Frankly I don;t even know what it would take for a "foreign" coin to be tradeable. Are we talking something like an IOU UIA such as Open.BTC or something else?

It could link to BitShares documentation about that.

For example, there is already documentation on how to get an exchange working on top of BitShares, we should have the same like "Deploy your Exchange on BitShares" and having it redirect to http://docs.bitshares.eu/integration/exchanges/index.html

The documentation can be overwhelming for a new exchange or altcoin.  How about "Get listed on BitShares DEX" button on bitshares.org pops up an email address to start the conversation going?  The email address can be from the devs or one of the community members who volunteers.

Technical Support / Re: cli_wallet keeps crashing

Possible memory corruption?

it would be useful.  I'm thinking it sounds like you upgraded an existing source checkout, so it might be possible you updated submodules non-recursively, meaning you'd get the new FC code but older websocketpp code, and maybe the new FC code requires more recent websocketpp (I'm just guessing here).

Can cmake check for the right modules' version for the dependencies?

Well done, Fox!

Is this the same as consensys , factom , emercoin on Azure ?

because I typed consensys , factom ,ethereum , emercoin on the seach box , and I could not find any , but these were the projects that has announced partership with microsoft  . Is their thing a different thing ?

Thanks .

still no factom

Go to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/templates/

Type "bloc" and click search.

You find them there.

Because Factom is probably not really in yet.

See https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/azure-baas-update-2

" The following are in the pipeline:

Deploy a factomd service exposing the Factom APIs - Q1 2016
Bitcoin data service of prices from different exchanges recorded on Factom's Blockchain - Q1 2016"

Keywords are "pipeline" and "Q1 2016".  Q1 is not over yet.

Please consider withdrawing your bts from external exchanges if you do not intend to sell them.. More than 30% of BTS are in the top two exchanges. This is very dangerous and if something goes wrong with any of these exchanges you can kiss goodbye your bts investment forever.

If you do not sell your bts, why not just held them in your wallet and be the king to your castle?

If we offer yield during the bootstrapping phase, it will encourage many people to move their BTS off the centralized exchanges and onto the DEX and many good things will result.  If you think that is important, I hope you will get behind @Empirical1.2's idea.

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,21597.msg284481.html#msg284481

What would stop the centralised exchanges from distributing its earned yields to their bts users, if they choose to do so?

Thanks for a great piece of general-purpose marketing material.

Now, if we could have a brochure piece targeting specifically the altcoins and entice them to move their trading over to bts...

A workaround:

Try a different API connection server.  If this is still too slow, run your own node.

General Discussion / Re: Have trading fees dropped?
« on: March 08, 2016, 01:24:30 pm »
Yes All fees have dropped :) woot woot!

I know it's sad for the business side of the chain, but really didn't want to make to many transactions of 41bts a pop even with a LTM. i think if i felt that way, it must have been hard for a new user who may only have a few thousand BTS to test with to pay so much in fees. good move i think :) happy trading

Not all fees are dropped.  Some fees are dropped while some others increased.  We are trying to lubricate the right parts of the engine to get the car speeding up smoothly.   :)

Also @bytemaster I would like to see your reply to Vitalik's comment on this
http://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/1241/implementing-fractional-reserve-bandwidth-concept-in-evm-on-serenity

I don't know if I understood correctly but does he mean with 2 bank accounts you can get twice the bandwidth? Because that's exactly the problem this method solves.. No sybils right

I think his message is "the time value of money is itself worth money".

With 'rate limited' -> time value of money (from the locked down bts)
With 'tx fee' -> actual bts (money) involved.

I didn't hear any announcement, but my trading fees are only 0.23386 BTS. Is this a new change? I'm definitely not complaining!

Yes, trading fee has dropped.  Thank us by trading MORE!

I'm thinking ETH will fall to around 0.015 before the uptrend can resume.

people with more 'insider knowledge' than you or me tend to agree with you...

all those "weird name-weird name" accounts voting for xeroc as of late, send substantial amounts to polo on every price rise...I sincerely doubt they do it to go margin long...
Who are they?

Looks like funnyname-funnyname is a new self-invented stealth feature.  Even you guys have no clue now.

General Discussion / Re: 234 BTS for issue/burn asset?!?!
« on: March 08, 2016, 02:11:56 am »

i think this shows a potential risk, we need to consider more. I am not full aware which fees are connected to our business. and to expect a
proposal to lower fees to come out this way is ......, but as i said i would probably missed this point anyway.

So, i think the "issuing" assets should be in the same category as "transfering" something, then in reality it is the same.

which fees do we have to consider?

- transfer fees
- issuing fees

we use daily and with coded programs.

- creating and updaten assets , somedays

i do believe this covers every fee we have to consider?

I am aware you are busy with your business/work and you may have missed the recent fee change.  You may be worrying its impact on your business.  But fret not, the committee is actively discussing this issue and it has been positive so far.

Frankly, when you are doing your business on top of bitshares, you DO need to know bts fee structure well. Your business depends on it!  The committee can only make sound decisions with active feedbacks from its community and business partners.  I hope to hear valuable feedback from you.

I still didn't get a decent reply about what to do. No plan whatsoever. Nice  +5%

You probably getting a better response with a translated post to the Chinese board.  Perhaps wildpig can help?
