KeyID / KeyID end-of-live. What happens to the KeyID accounts?
« on: October 26, 2014, 04:14:47 pm »
Any idea how the KeyID accounts would go into the new BTS system?  Will there be some kind of merging of two sets of accounts - KeyID and BTSX? Or are they replaced with a new set of BTS accounts?

KeyID / Re: Transfer from Bter to wallet fails
« on: October 26, 2014, 07:55:38 am »
Now I can't get my new 'subsonicsoftware' account registered properly. I created a new wallet from a fresh install of the new KeyID client, entered the key & username 'subsonicsoftware' into MyFreeKeyID.com. But when I open the wallet, it shows as an unregistered account called 'untitled'.

I think I'll just sell my DNS for a little BTC & chalk it all up as a loss. Bummer.

subsonicsoftware was registered into the blockchain ten hours ago.  Did you check if your wallet is synced?

I've been investing via the the pre-sale. If NOTES were folded into BTS, is there any risk that we would be a price-taker (i.e. no say on allocation) like DNS and VOTE? If there is, I think I would rather not invest.

I think Cob is aware of such concerns.  He has assured the community that he would carefully consider the interests of all parties before making a decision.  I believe he would communicate these points when he is ready for a open discussion.

Besides Fuzzy and tbk, I would like to suggest adding the following people to the nomination list:

gamey, xeroc, emski, amencon, ripplexiaoshan, thom

"Peter", if you are going away then post so on your old account.  What a load of rubbish.

Yes. Do tell us your old pseudonym if you want us to take you seriously.  And there is no need for a NXT-plug.

If I understood correctly the new wallet will come at the end of November.

Overall I would not expect too much super quickly but a lot in the long run (a few month to a few years).

Expecting a long run with a steady rise.  BTS will get the world's notice.  :)

I've stated many times that this might very well be the best for Bitshares.  Sorry you find my opinions on things so frustrating.  I'm actually not angry, I just don't agree with everything that has happened and dislike many attitudes I find within this community, your thread about I3 and Mao serving as a quintessential example.

We should value all critical thinking from various perspectives.  These are valuable input for sound decision making.

How to upgrade a docker run node?

Both delegate freekeyid and bitcube are at v0.0.5.

Eddie and I's responsibility is to the Music Project and the Note holders.
Whatever we end up doing has to be either neutral or beneficial to whoever spent funds on aquiring Notes.
So we are not changing course.
If anything happens down the line the BTS merger appears super beneficial, then of course we will do what's best for your guys and ourselves.

Point is. Right now, Plan A stays. BitShares Music is it's own DAC.

Thanks for making a clear stand on this.  For MUSIC Dac to be successful, it needs a strong level of trust and support from its donors/contributors.  Good luck!  :)

Any DNS stake that had gone through a buy/sell prior to the retroactive snapshot (around 4pm oct 21) but had not left BTC38 will be accounted for and BTC38 will be given a lump sump of BTS to give to those people.

No guarantees that it will be enough to do 1:1 match, since this will completely clean out I3's DNS stake.

This means all you guys who claimed and got extra BTS bonus but feel like you don't deserve it (riverhead et al) should only reimburse people from BTER, not btc38.

Thanks!

Good news for the BTC38 users!  I hope Bter will do the same.  Your work will be cherished by many who suffered.   +5%

KeyID / Re: Getting started with KeyID / importing wallets

Hey Cube,

I replied to your PM.   It would be an understatement to say a lot transpired over the past few days..

Looks like I will be SOL as far as my DNS investment is concerned...

Hey Cube,

I was trying to reply to your post..but I wasn't allowed to include your "quote" in my reply because of the external link included

I figured this out after I sent you a pm.. :-)   Again proof I am very new at this but I'm learning.

Anyway if you can reply either way that's fine.  Even if I can't register a keyid  I will still purchase some DNS

thanks again

No problem.  We were all new users once. :)

I replied your PM.

I saw your PMed post. I think I will reply here for the benefits of others who are in the same predicament. If this is of any consolation to you, I like you to know that I too have recently bought DNS left on the exchange during the sudden plunge.  And I believe there are a number of people out there who are facing the same challenge.  All hope is not lost.  There is an attempt to contact bter and btc38 to see if they can do an retroactive snapshot. See https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=10381.msg136265#msg136265

If the attempt turns out positive, you may get your lost DNS back.  :)

Now, we were talking about better PR (or is this the better PR? hm?)

I thought toast got some more efficient means of communication with vikram and BM than posting here  :)

I think posting technical stuff here is good.  Other people who are facing similar problems can get a quick answer.  Just like a public listed company would halt the trading of their company shares before announcing any major company movement which are share price sensitive, we do need more care when it comes to any announcement/proposal/posts that would potentially affect prices.  Having good PR would help.
