localhost sent 11,540,000 BTS to poloniexwallet
30 minutes ago

Well there you go, he's officially out of BTS. Rally time?

localhost looks like a trust fund. Could it be a trust fund for development?

We need focus and a purpose.

Exchanges, hedge funds, banks, etc, all using BitShares via
Stock Markets
Bond Markets
Commodity markets
Money markets
Derivatives markets
Futures markets
Insurance markets
Foreign exchange markets

While I would not term it an 'identity crisis', we do lack a clear goal/path and a sharp focus.  What do we want to achieve?

We are all very excited about upcoming future.

Free Transaction*
* - if you have proper amount of money on your account.

We should not over promise, and deliver exactly what we are going to say.

- They think, that this is not possible... because they know the reality. So they think that in that case bitshares is a SCAM or Ponzi
- They believe... they are making big plans... to figure out later... that there is a catch, and they end up with disappointment.

At the end of the day, for most users (but not all) will not have any fees at all, so they will still have very good opinion about that feature, but we cannot afford more overpromissed marketing campaigns.

It is an exciting time. This is what the message needs to inspire indeed.

One thing though.  How does this message remove/reduce the fear/perception that this is not a scam/ponzi when "most users' do not pay fees?

These guys have caught my interest due to their very impressive work so far on platform, something anyone coul learn from.

What exactly should we learn from them?

The same as from anyone else creating an interest on the platform bringing sofar hundres of new users. How do they do it, what can I learn from them to do the same? Is there anything in what they do which I could learn from or even create some synergy.

I am not supposed to teach you or anybody else on platform what is your preference and how you want to have success. everybody on this platform are suposed to observe and learn and on their own research, and act accordingly.

This is how success is made.

Yes indeed.  They are certainly creating attention.  8)

General Discussion / Re: Testing Stealth UI

I believe this is very unintuitive so far.

AGREE.

This is very powerful, but also potentially very dangerous feature.
If we do not want to loose users because of their mistakes... and our bad design, we should improve User Experience of this feature first!

Agree to AGREE.

It is highly unintuitive and confusing to say the least.  This easily leads to user frustration.  We need to simplify the whole user experience.

Some suggestion:

1) Screen should clearly shows public and private accounts and a way to filter the two types.

2) Selecting a public address or a private account should be a one-click process. Remove the need to 'add contact'.

3) Have a Step-By-Step Wizard to guide users with clear simple explanations.

Technical Support / Re: is the witness thing running under win?

Did you remove object and blockchain data folders before running the witness node?

Edit:  The new logging function reduces log output to console significantly.  And so, what you are seeing at the console seems normal.  The way to check whether you are progressing is from the cli_wallet , eg:

Code: [Select]
{
  "head_block_num": 4033345,

Are the head block numble increasing?

You can try this (latest version compile) - https://github.com/btscube/bitshares-2/releases/tag/2.0.160223

I got it to work under similar condition as yours.  If this worked for you, let me know.

158
Done.

How does it help?

@abit @JonnyBitcoin @svk

Actually here is how is this done... smoothly. Courtesy of sports-owner. Pay attention to the fee.

1.
http://cryptofresh.com/tx/82ed3de6a98c6cf8a5cdf69afd956bdfa0eb2331 -> Show raw transaction
2.
 then cancel.
Yes that's it.

Is there a proper withdrawal function being planned/in the pipeline?

Way to go! Yeehaw...

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Can't claim MUSE from the Peertracks preSale
« on: February 27, 2016, 03:16:41 pm »

Also, in CCEDK in my bts2.0 account, there is no option to generate a deposit address for open.muse.  There are about 11 others, ETH, DOGE, etc, but no MUSE.  I think I can see the writing on the wall here.  Thanks for all your help tho.  I was excited to at least get the MUSE and BTS from the AGS crowdsale in my own wallet clients.

I know this next statement is off topic, but I just want to get something of my chest.  At about the same time that I chose to participate in the AGS sale, I also put the same amount of btc in another popular crowdsale that was going on.  The other investment is now worth over 40 btc.  AND, all I had to do to get access to those tokens was to drag and drop the provided .json file into my new wallet.

If only I had a time machine, right?

There is no address needed for CCEDK's openledger muse gateway.  From your muse wallet, send your muse to the account 'openledger-wallet' with a memo 'open.muse:bitcube' (Replace bitcube with your bts account name) .  open.muse would appear in your bts wallet account shortly.

What is your 'other investment'? Care to share?

It is a storage of monetary value, backed by real value and independent of third-parties.

How about "Liquid"
+1

'Liquid' is nice.  It signifies fluidity.

But perhaps it needs a simple name to convey the concept of shares in a co-operative, pricefeed-less market-based peg and an interest-paying instrument backed by tx fees.

localhost sent 5,000,000 BTS to poloniexwallet
4 hours ago

Literally every time I see these posts it reminds me of a major flaw of bitshares and makes me want to sell it.

But go ahead you guys, keep posting this every time anyone with a decent amount of BTS sends soem to poloniex.

Exactly!

Btw localhost is probably enjoying this transfer, anyone in the future that transfers so many bts in an exchange without stealth will be viewed with distrust.

It is natural for investors/speculators to be interested in any bts buying and selling activities by major shareholders.  This happens to the real world stock trading too.  Let's take it in stride.
