General Discussion / Re: Crowd Donations for Mike Hearn Hangout
« on: January 16, 2016, 07:44:48 am »
Meh.. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=333824.0
I can't take this guy seriously since then

redlisting/blacklisting some bitcoins?  Is this a joke?

I cannot agree more with you.

I think any news is good bad news if you get Hearn on... but I also think it's better to reach out to the other side as well.  I think it's more important to get the broader Bitcoin community on board with Bitshares than create more divisiveness.  Hearn is already an outcast and even more so now.

Mike is working for R3 and the timing of his post with NYT article cast suspicions on his agenda.  If he has become an outcast with the bitcoin community, inviting him at this sensitive time is inviting bitcoiners' enmity.

Good job, xeroc!  You are all charged up in a new year.  :)

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Marketing - Bitcoin I'm Asking for Feedback

If PeerTracks allows Bitcoin deposits, which will be converted to the MUSE USD, at least that gives them an entry into the system.  It's one of my bigger complaints with BitShares (something that caught my attention from Max's videos), we need to find hooks into the Bitcoin space to see investing in us as a win/win.

I believe cob has every intention of getting MUSE USD up, as soon as it is possible.  At least, this is what I last heard of.  The issue now is to raise fund for technical development.  We as the community can also chip in to help.

I would like to brainstorm how we bring in the Bitcoin community to this project. Although Peertracks/MUSE is not targeting the crypto community directly, I mentioned in the link below how it could be a huge boost:

I would like to hear everyone's thoughts.  Also, if there are other ways we can position Peertracks/MUSE in other communities, I believe that's worth discussing.

IMHO, Poloniex is the key of attracting Bitcoin community (although we now have Metaexchange). I just sent another email to Poloniex urging to honor PTS with MUSE. I think it's not that difficult task for them. They may just do not have motivations.

They were having problems with importing their balances and it seems there is no solution yet.  Muse blockchain needs to solve these importing problems but not before getting more funds to support the technical enhancement and development.  We need a bit of patience here.

Welcome onboard.  Your project is interesting.

The poll at the top of this thread shows people are broadly in favour of selling the bitasset trade fees that have been accumulated.

yet only @mindphlux  @dele-puppy and @BunkerChain Labs  have approved it:  http://cryptofresh.com/p/1.10.48

Could @baozi @bitcrab @bitcube  also approve this action please.

Please see https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,19542.msg270157.html#msg270157

We are in the middle of a discussion.

Didn't expect OpenLedger to make such profits since October.

Haha that is a case of a obits writer trying to run a busses.

Damn I wish I was a taxing agency...even at 3% tax...the way they calculate their 'revenue' and 'profits' will make the country the richest...in no time.

tonyk with his astute mind has spoken up in cryptic words again. Let me guess what he was trying to say.  The 900K bts (approx USD3000) cash back earned by openledger-reg seems like the revenue gained since the web wallet launched.  If this is indeed the revenue, that begs the question - where are the costs eg cost of registering new users, cost of operation, cost of man-power, cost of office rental, cost of utilities, other cost of business?  What is the profit after less off the costs and tax?

I think the review period is before the proposal expiration and no one can vote during the review period.
I don't think so. If no one can vote, how to "review"?

The review period is for shareholders to review their vote for their committee members and they can vote out the active members and vote in other non-active members.

General Discussion / Re: Looking for BTS 2.0 Seed Node Operators
« on: January 05, 2016, 08:28:57 am »
I will be running 128.199.131.4:1777 as a seed node. It is currently running as a seednode for testnet but it will be replaced for the live network at the launch time.

Seed node address updated to seed.cubeconnex.com:1777

A github pull request for the change is created.  Please accept the pull request.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: *CI/UI/UX Design / Web Development - cass
« on: January 05, 2016, 04:07:20 am »
I am glad to see the key players - svk, xeroc and cass continue to support bitshares via a worker role.  Well deserved and all the best.

BTW, Zn translation should be termed 'Chinese simplified translation'.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Committee: bitcube

bitcube supports the use of extra bitassets earned to promote and incentivise liquidity.  See https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,20880.new.html#new

The bitassets are earned from transactions but its fee pools were funded from earlier workers. The accumulated earned fees should replenish the fee pools and any excess can be used to promote and incentivise bitassets liquidity especially bitUSD and bitCNY.

We will be discussing this matter among the committee members.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: bitshares client / muse client question
« on: January 05, 2016, 03:24:02 am »
Thankyou.  As for openmuse I couldn't find that on CCEDK

OpenMuse does it a bit different. They handle the entire transaction inside the client via the Deposit/Withdraw screens. On/off ramps, bridges, and client integrations are all at different stages of refinement. It's a bit rough at first but not too bad.

Well, I wouldn't call it rough.  The gateway integration with the client is pretty slick as it is.

General Discussion / Re: The Benefits of Proof of Work [BLOG POST]
« on: January 05, 2016, 03:15:26 am »
Incentivising the bitshares holders who stay long and committed is a positive thing and it is necessary to encourage more such committed stake holders and voters.  Ultimately we like to encourage more individual stakeholders to vote and this results in a more decentralised ecosystem.  But I am not sure about getting this incentive at the expense of the liquidity providers.  They are useful in their own right in providing a liquid market.  In addition, dilution is something that could cost more than gain to bitshares especially at this early stage of growth.  Are there other ways to fund the incentive?

Thanks for the efforts.
"Review begins in 14 days" Can it be earlier?
Sure .. but only with a new proposal. I think we should take the 2 weeks and figure out what to do with the funds and not rush into something .. This would also allow me to properly code a script and test it until the funds are release (or not)

Maybe you can enlighten me about a detail: Is the review period right before the expiration of a proposal or is the review period first and no one can vote within that period?

Thanks for putting up the work and giving the committee members some time to discuss the matter and come up with an action plan.

I think the review period is before the proposal expiration and no one can vote during the review period.
