Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Welcome To The Blockchain (The Bitcoin Song)
« on: October 22, 2015, 03:29:27 pm »
Hey guys, thanks for the kind words!  I tried to sign up and the sign up button is not functional.

I'm sorry about the status of the Bitshares song, I will likely have to refund the funds when it's reasonable to close my short.  Life just kicked my ass at the wrong time...I wish I could have come through.

Peace
Toby

Life has kicked many an ass this past while... maybe time, inclination and energy will once again conspire and you will be able to produce the song.  But if not then that's the way it goes sometimes.

If you truly throw in the towel on this one, let us know if you wrote any good BitShares specific lyrics you'd care to open source.. ;)

this video made me realize - where is robrigo?

He is in detroit, well inside the constitution free zone.

Guh.. don't remind me... that part will have to be in the special directors cut, secret decoder ring, limited edition release...  8)

Hey Brandon - speaking of directors cut what ever happened to that footage with the cow? Are you saving it for a special occasion? Because if not, you should throw it up on youtube!

Hahaha.. I have it. ;)  It needs to go somewhere goofy, like a bloopers reel, I'll see what I can do.

What's with the beards?! Is there some kind of psychological connect that draws the beard crowd to bitshares? :)

I actually just shaved mine off :).

The universe is still in balance then, my beard is starting to fill out.. ;)

When I watched this movie the first time, I was sitting in a Hotel room with view to Shanghai's skyline together with Toast, Riverhead, cass, and Stan. All of us pretty much enjoyed the show!

well done! +5%

Most epic screening location!!  :)  With that combination of characters in a Shanghai hotel... sheesh, one can only imagine the conversation!

We definitely need a communication upgrade.. we're all over the place

I don't know what the right solution is... but yes, the need certainly exists.
It's unusually challenging to reach consensus in a decentralized network, let alone a group of people sitting in the same room together.

It seems like you are really passionate and excited about Ultra and what it could provide for us Fuzzy.  I think it's pretty intriguing myself, and I generally support the direction you want to move in.
I'm curious to see how you build consensus around this issue.  The funny thing is that our current tools make it more challenging to build consensus for a move to a platform which would allow us to build consensus more easily.  I guess that's how progress usually works.

Building a vision, and building a case, and waiting for the right timing, to launch an initiative such as this is key.

Was trying to install bitshares-light_2.15.289_amd64.deb and here's what the Ubuntu Package Manager said:

Isn't this similar to what the fellas behind DPOS Hub are envisioning?
I'm pretty sure they are still working on that idea, though not exactly sure the status, but probably best not to duplicate efforts here.

Or said another way, probably best to join efforts here...  ;)

It was a great watch... as a I commented in youtube, it really humanized everybody that are only generally known by avatars here.

It would be great to make more of these.

It's got me thinking of putting on a crypto event at the bunker so we can have everyone all together and we can some awesome round table talks and firesides on the future.

+5%   Maybe after you shovel yourself out next spring, Nova Scotia could be in the cards.. :)

Let us know when the fireside bunker talks will be held.

And it's done.  The sell wall has moved to 110%.  Congratulations everyone on dynamically managing blockchain parameters with no need to fork.

The MSSR does seem like a parameter that could be better managed by the committee members than by the witnesses, but at the moment I'm just glad it could be managed in a dynamic and decentralized way without too many bottlenecks.  We took a hit from this, but we're still learning how to run this, and it could have been much worse.

I love the "set" behind Robrigo. I didn't notice it until the 2nd time I watched (when I was looking less at the people and more at the surroundings). Also, Stan in overalls and a rocking chair - so apropos. Was that your idea or his? Either way....Priceless.

Free Mind

Yeah, it's appropriate don't you think?

Hey @robrigo, you should send these out as Holiday Greetings postcards...  ;D

While we're in appreciation mode, I have to say that Rob was super helpful on this trip, on so many levels!  Mad respect to the crypto-jedi of Detrot!

Saw this:
https://bitshares.org/media/2015_bitshares_infographic_en.pdf

Very cool. Who did this? Cass?
Is anyone working on updating it?

Yeah, we brought Arlene onboard to get this done, with the help of Xeldal, Xeroc, Cass, and a few others.

Let me know if you want us to reach out to Arlene again to get this updated for 2.0.

The guy that played fuzzy sounded just like him ... good job casting crew!

 :P

I know it's uncanny isn't it?!  It was just pure luck on our part..  8)

Thanks to everyone, for the words of encouragement.  And to the brave souls who agreed to be interviewed!
One would think that everyone who appeared on film should be granted a noble sum of BROWNIE.PTS for their heartfelt testimonies. ;)

It's good to know that from such a relatively small sample of this entire community, there is so much wisdom and scholarship among us!  It was seriously game changing for us personally, on so many levels... to meet all the amazing people on this tour.

There will surely be more from Cryptofresh.  Our efforts to tell the story of BitShares and its community in a way that people can relate to, join, and support, will inevitably become more refined.  Wherever we find an opportunity to grow and evolve this space together for the benefit of all concerned, we'll gladly be there.
