General Discussion / Number of Bitshares X at launch
« on: June 22, 2014, 04:18:12 am »
I vote for 100 Million shares at launch.

That would make each share worth  $1, if Bitshares X market cap is $100 Mill, or $10 per share if cap is $ 1 Billion.

If it's all the same... why not 40 million instead of 4 million. Or 100 mill. instead of 10 M?

I think 100 mill shares at launch is about right. That would make each share worth about $1 if Bitshares X market cap is at 100 Mill, or $10 per share if cap is $ 1 Billion.

This is strange. Some delegates don't miss any blocks, others miss many. My delegate  node (bitcoiners) seems to be missing a lot of blocks despite being constantly on.

Code: [Select]
blockchain_list_delegates 0 10
          ID                     NAME           VOTES FOR       VOTES AGAINST           NET VOTES BLOCKS PRODUCED   BLOCKS MISSED

There seem to be a lot of forks though, maybe this is the reason for missed blocks.

Code: [Select]
>>> list_errors
default (unlocked) >>> list_forks

General Discussion / Bitshares Bazaar (decentralized market)
« on: June 21, 2014, 03:38:33 pm »
Coindesk has an article on a decentralized, ebay-like market that utilizes bitcoin tech.

http://www.coindesk.com/openbazaar-bitcoin-build-decentralised-ebay/

Seems Bitshares platform is a natural fit for a decentralized, ebay-like service.

How can I see a reason why a block was missed by my delegate?

Same here. I see a few blocks were missed, but now why.

Trying to issue an asset.

Code: [Select]
>>> wallet_asset_issue 1000000 BEE bitcoiners "Bees are people too"
10 assert_exception: Assert Exception
my->_blockchain->is_valid_symbol( symbol ):

What am I doing wrong?

It seems every block produced by a delegate increases votes for that delegate.. Why?

492
I am interested to host my delegate on such a redundant global cloud. Looking forward to testing your solution.

Hopefully this truly is a dry run and no real shares are lost, as I may have just deleted a wallet that I did not back up.

Ok. My delegate is up and running. (unelected-bitcoiners)

Code: [Select]

Still it has not produced any blocks yet. Maybe it needs more votes.
