MemoryCoin / Re: [ANN] MMC.1GH.COM - CPU/GPU mining
« on: January 20, 2014, 02:52:25 pm »
Reject reason is mostly stating share invalid which only starts to happen once the pool is cranking on with those heavy miners and their hpm.

To me it seems like a load issue where the pool cant process the getwork shares fast enough then malforms it and returning invalid share.

1gh.com is very stable with far less than 1% reject/stale when those 2 epic miners hashrate drop so I doubt its just a normal issue rather than a server load issue.
This is not a possible course of action, you may get the response slower, but valid share cannot be invalidated. Probably yam thinks it is invalid when it cannot get a response to a share submission in a reasonable time, this is a possibility when that top miner comes with his many connections. We are going to implement a solution for that in a few hours.

reorder could you look into the high reject rate 10-14% when the server gets packed with those high hpm users.

Right now kinda forced to put more of my hpm on 1gh due to ever diff changing and 1gh just about hitting every block right now, would love it if you could figure out how to drop the rejects when server is loaded.

Ive tested from 3 different locations(europe, asia, usa) just to make sure its not an issue from the one location and when server gets loaded they all get hit with 10-14% rejects.
Does your miner show the reject reason? On our side it looks like most rejects are stales, and that is hard to avoid with memorycoin. We have a plan on how to address the issue, but it requires an additional API implemented in memorycoind itself, and that may take a few days.

BitShares PTS / Re: OpenCL GPU miner by girino for ypool.net
« on: January 20, 2014, 02:13:50 pm »
I had no intention of releasing my miner for ypool in the begining (the 70% harming the network, etc, etc), but since too many people asked, i am now releasing it. As always, the code is Open sourced and free. As I used jh00 jhProtominer as a base, and the minar and the pool support donation fees, i included a 2.5% developer fee in the code, that will only apply for those mining on ypool.net. If you mine on any other pool, please remember to donate.

Code is available at: https://github.com/girino/jhProtominer

A linux 64bit compiled binary is available at: https://mega.co.nz/#F!oVBUmDjR!atcpQhUQ7C123F-XFiub0w

Hope you enjoy!
2.5% developer fee + 5% pool fee = 7,5% ?  :o

Yup. I have no intention of driving more people to ypool. But you can still use it on other pools with no fee. Call it an incentive...
Thanks for answer.
Miner dosn't support http://pts.1gh.com ?
Why would you need that? Ours is generally faster :)

Can you ping the mmcpool.1gh.com? Everything appears to work just fine on our side, maybe a network issue?

A strange one, isn't yam supposed to reconnect on connection loss?

ANy updates to the miner, the GPU one?
Not yet, next update will happen in several days. It will not affect you CPM, but will reduce your stale shares percent to almost zero.

82
could you guys try to see if you can put the crossfire working properly because in crossfire the ati cards tend to loose very mutch performance
We cannot, and you can see the same degradation in any mining and even in some games that support multiple cards natively. To get best performance from 2 cards, you have to disable crossfire and run them separately.
win miner is new version?
download, update and I have increased rig productivity by 5% )
It is version 1.3 from Jan 12, I am not sure how much new it is :) Its difference from 1.2 is reduced stale shares submitted.

Next version will have stratum support to (almost) eliminate stales.

Is there any way I can use my Asus 570 GTX which only has 1280MB ram to mine?
You should be able to start the miner as soon as your card has 1G RAM free. You can view the free VRAM with tools like GPU-Z. To free some, you can try reducing your screen resolution or disconnecting secondary display if you have one.

Guys,

We have found and fixed a display bug that caused CPM shown about 15% higher than real at times. Now it should match your CPM displayed in the miner closer. It does not affect shares distribution or payouts, only displayed CPM.

86
Is there any way I can configure the cards specifically ie clock speeds etc. like in cgminer ?
No, the miner does not have this functionality. However, you can use manufacturer's tools like aticonfig or Afterburner for that.

87
Just for my understanding, when the block shows as immature, does it mean that the gpu is mining, or has it finished mining and waiting for the confirmation for payout?
The 'immature' means that the block is found by the pool but cannot be spent (shares payed to miners) yet. Your gpu is mining next blocks during that.

88
Is my stale rate anything to do with me unplugging my monitor ? I obviously have a couple of rigs but I only connect 1 to my monitor at any given time. I do use the dummy plugs with the resistors for one of them but the CPM seems to be hovering around the 6500CPM region
No, stale shares are not related to hardware, you would be getting 'invalid-momentum' rejects if it was for hardware errors.

89
I am getting a number of Rejected prevhash-stale errors after I leave my computer idealing for a while when I goto bed. Any ideas how to minimize this ? I did a calculation and I should have a total of 7500 CPM based on what I can see on the miners but it is only showing 6300 - 6800 on average
On the moment, you cannot do anything with stales. We are working now on implementing stratum in our miners an pool server, that will reduce stales to minimum.

90
It is very simple really - we opensource it today, tomorrow ypool has 95% network. They have done it to XPM and PTS, if it is of any indication..

Oh, so it will switch from 90% at 1gh to 95% at ypool (which I doubt). What is ypool's fee? Do you have interest in the 1gh pool?
Yes, I have a stake in 1gh pools. It is not 90% anymore btw, mmcpool has caught up somewhat now that they have GPU miners too. Now we too get orphans sometimes, you will not suspect mmcpool in selfish pool tactics, will you? :)

Ypool's fee for PTS is 6%, and it is not really transparent due to their special kind of vardiff, but noone seems to care for their monopoly. Not even bytemaster himself.
