KeyID / Re: Transfer from Bter to wallet fails
« on: October 26, 2014, 08:04:23 am »
I guess I could've waited for it to sync, then. But I didn't.

I already sold my DNS & uninstalled KeyID.

I figured it didn't matter if I kept it or sold it, being that the program is being cancelled.

If it were to continue, I'd have kept it, but without a future I just folded.

Thanks nevertheless.

Hi,

I had to do the following differently during build to get past errors I encountered during the process.

1. sudo aptitude install qttools5-dev

2a. After the step: cd programs/web_wallet

2b. npm config set registry http://registry.npmjs.org/

3a. After the step: sudo npm install -g lineman

3b. sudo npm install

When I get to the step where I do: make BitSharesX

I'm doing this: sudo cp programs/qt_wallet/bin/BitSharesX /usr/local/bin/

...to install it system wide, but there's nothing in /home/full/bitsharesx/programs/qt_wallet/bin

So I guess it didn't build properly.

I'm following the instructions on the wiki to build it with the QT GUI on Ubuntu 14.04.

How do I fix it?

Thanks,
-F

Found solution.

Installing package qttools5-dev solved the problem.

Thank you, I got this error on Linux Mint 17 trying to build bitsharesx 4.22 & your post let me progress past the error.

Now I can't get my new 'subsonicsoftware' account registered properly. I created a new wallet from a fresh install of the new KeyID client, entered the key & username 'subsonicsoftware' into MyFreeKeyID.com. But when I open the wallet, it shows as an unregistered account called 'untitled'.

I think I'll just sell my DNS for a little BTC & chalk it all up as a loss. Bummer.

I just saw this post:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=10390.0

Regarding DNS End-Of-Life.

Now I don't know what to do, I was counting on using the new DNS system for websites. This is disappointing.

I wonder now if moving my DNS out of Bter is a moot point.

I imagine I should wait for the snapshot where I think it's working out where DNS holders are receiving another currency in relation to their DNS holdings, is this correct?

I just updated my client, & the new name doesn't show up there. Still showing as 'SubSonicSoft'.

How do I fix that so I can keep using SubSonicSoft?

Today I set out on a mission to finally find my DNS funds, ready to look up the relevant info on the blockchain in hopes of working this out.

But now I find that the funds are back in my Bter account, as they never really made it to my wallet.

So now I've tried sending them via my key string, and my registered account name, & neither transfer properly.

I tried --resync yesterday, & it didn't show my funds, & today I see why, with the funds still in Bter.

My KeyID wallet shows my account as registered, since I visited the faucet right after creating it & after that it was registered.

Today I'm working on installing the Linux version of the wallet, in case that helps somehow. I have a nagging thought that I'm misinterpreting what I see with regard to my account really being registered.

My account is SubSonicSoft. Where can I double check that it's registered?

And when I set the address to transfer the funds to in Bter, is it correct to put SubSonicSoft there in that field? I know I got the TOTP & fund password correct, since it showed a confirmation after I submitted the transfer request saying it was successful.

I'm at a loss here as to how to proceed to get this done right.

Yesterday I transferred my DNS from Bter to my registered KeyID account name, my wallet is always a few seconds away from sync'ing fully, & the transaction still hasn't appeared.

The DNS didn't re-appear in the Bter account like it did last time.

Did I lose my DNS?

KeyID / Transfer from Bter to wallet fails
« on: October 12, 2014, 11:30:49 pm »
Hi,

I must have misunderstood something here, because 3 out of 3 times now I've tried to withdraw my BitSharesDNS from Bter to my KeyID wallet, & after an hour or so the funds re-appear in my Bter account, never making it to the wallet.

I'm using the registered key string as my withdrawal address in my account.

What's wrong? Is there a different currency, or a different wallet, or a different value to use as my address?

Thanks,
-F

Great! Thank you all for sorting that for me.

I guess I'll have to start paying to run my server then. I hope it's not too expensive to keep up 24/7.

I've just restored a snapshot from when I first discovered it dying- I imagine now it'll stay up. I now have 3.7G of memory, the next larger that was available, & a big jump up.

It just started, & htop shows ~700MB in use.

EDIT:

I just looked at Amazon's pricing, & figured it'll cost ~$50/month, which is more than I want to pay. I'll have to wait until I get my home server up until I can provide a stable seed node, unfortunately.

I hate to have posted that I had a node up on that IP address, just to take it down- I'll have to edit that post & post my office's address in its place once I have that server finished.

Also, now htop is reporting close to 1G RAM in use. No wonder it was crashing.

Thanks again.
