Will be posting a report for the end of my first month on Jan 29th.

Great idea
Objective : To fund critical projects on an as needed basis without waiting for delegate funds to accrue.

Initially, as a show of good faith, there will be 1.5 Million BTS available for funding projects.

and I'd say that's (stunningly) more than just a show of good faith!

Great beginning to the website as well.

+5%  Brilliant! This is so useful.

Hi Indolering,

In your proposal you said "As long as BTS holders benefit from selling the namespace in what eventually becomes a secure decentralized DNS solution, everyone should be satisfied."

Could you please explain a bit more about the basics of what .p2p is, what does it do, how does it bring income to BTS.  Does it prevent domain name squatting, if so how? (thought I heard that somewhere..)

Thanks

General Discussion / Re: Spec Chart for Major Cryptos

Hello people,

As promised, an updated chart.

I've also put it on our Reddit with an explanation why it's updated.

Tweet will go out soon.

Please point out any glaring mistakes. There are a few areas where things are debatable, because definitions of some features differ across projects. If we can come to consensus on definitions, that helps, otherwise, we should probably put that in somewhere to at least make clear we're not dealing with comparable entities.

So, here it is: http://i.cubeupload.com/J02n9J.jpg

I won't clog up the thread with a big pic ;)

Not bad, but BitShares does have "profit sharing/dividends".  It does profit sharing in the form of burning of transaction fees and fees for user issued assets, fees for delegate registration and there may be some other fees I'm not aware of.  These fees are all burned and  reduce the supply of BTS which equates to profit sharing as these are DAC income streams and benefit everyone in proportion to their stake.

Marketplace and smartcontracts are AFAIK in the works.

I thought multisig was already up and runnng?  Not sure.

What is "account control"?

Thanks for doing the modifications.

Wow this is great!

BTW, is it as secure to use the wallet in a browser? (I know this one is a demo, but just wondering for my own use).

We definitely need tech support/customer support, more than just what this forum offers.

This is a great episode all the way through the but particularly good bit relevant to BitShares starts at 19.30mins.  I highly recommend watching that part.

He talks about China being the most ready country for blockchain tech and a crowdfunding conference in Shanghai in March.  BitShares should be there to talk about crowdhiring via delegates, which is a form of crowdfunding and to make connections. Can anyone find info about this conference?  They didn't name the event.

I noticed there are several BTS accounts with "alibaba" in the name.  Does anyone know if any of these accounts are actually theirs?
http://www.bitsharesblocks.com/accounts?query=alibaba

How can we use this info in this video the benefit of BitShares?  Perhaps more Chinese biz-dev delegate positions are needed.

This is getting urgent as I have a freelancer to pay for her translation work and I need to access my funds right now.

If it's urgent you can use the command line

Ok, I need to transfer 24k BTS to bter.  How do I do that?

wallet_transfer 24000 BTS matt-account btercom "memo message from bter deposit page"

test with a small amount first like always

How to do it from the accumulated delegate pay?  It worked for a small test transaction because I have 900 BTS in my normal balance on my delegate account but for the 24k BTS doing that command gives an "insufficient funds" message even though there are 70k BTS saved up from delegate pay.

It now says that its synced but typing in the console does nothing.

Update
Whole wallet screen went completely white, then froze and had to force quit.  Now its back to syncing, "last block was synced 2s ago" and stuck.

Update:  managed to send a small test transaction via command line before it starting syncing again and got stuck.

Can't you just use the older wallet?

Which one?  I've not had a useable wallet for at least a month.

Ok.. i'll try.  At the moment getting "last block was synced 12s ago", for the last 20 mins, tryping commands into the console and pressing enter does nothing.
