Version 0.5 still buggy: "an error occured while trying to start", then you need to delete config.json file to be able to start, but then last 26 weeks of blockchain are being downloaded again.

Sadly, Bitshares is one of the most bugged softwares I ever saw. I'm not here to FUD, that's a fact and I'm Bitshares bagholder. Too bad if whole idea dies because of so bad client implementation.

Technical Support / Re: Not seeing my BTS credit!?

I can only tell you it's that kind of mess I get 3 different balances on various pages. Waiting for 0.5 version tomorrow, lost all my nerves with these insanely buggy versions that won't sync with correct fork, enormous memory eating, sluggish console, etc etc etc, countless bugs.

Please can you tell me where the newest Linux 64bit version resides? I'm getting the impression it's not on https://github.com/dacsunlimited/bitsharesx  because people are talking about v0.4.27.3 and I just compiled v0.4.27.2 from that repository.

Technical Support / Not seeing my BTS credit!?
« on: January 13, 2015, 12:40:48 pm »
There are transactions, and there are no suspicious ones, but balance is 0 and it won't update. Happened to me already once, but it updated itself when several hours passed. Now the same is not happening... I'm running the newest Bitshares 64bit client on Kubuntu 14.04. Please help, client is obviously very buggy.

Be reminded .. that "airdropped" funds have a vesting period of 2 years .... which means .. you can get a 1/(2*365)-th part of your funds every day .. you can only withdraw all you funds after 2 years!

That introduces the risk of losing parts of your funds if the exchange shuts down within the next 2 years!
Unless you have them withdrawn to your own wallet!

So BTSX we already have on exchanges can be withdrawed no problem after 5th Nov, 2 years vesting period is only for new funds? I don't have PTS or AGS, I only have BTSX on exchange...

Thanks, what does "airdrop BTX to PTS/AGS/DNS/VOTE" mean?

52
What is snapshot, I really do have trouble finding straight information about it all. It all seems a bit of unorganized to me.
Where we should keep our BTSX on that date, locally or on exchanges, does it matter at all?

53
Thanks for helping me out, now it seems that I'm running newest version which is synchronized but still there's "not connected" down there - doesn't matter but it would be kind of good that it is fixed soon.

Seems like you're right, it's not showing to me now.

55
No, it's not the case here, I'm not synced but I'm compiling the newer version right now and I hope it will be alright. By the way, the in-program update function seems to be broken?

General Discussion / Forum usability suggestion.

Making us type captcha and answer question every time we want to post something is not helping general usability of the forum. It's too paranoid, I think you can believe the current session if user types captcha one time. You should fix that, I bet many would agreee.

OK I downloaded https://github.com/dacsunlimited/bitsharesx/archive/v0.4.17.tar.gz   Can someone please tell me what to do next?

It's Bitshares 0.4.14 and Kubuntu 14.04

58
It stays in status "Not connected" indefinitely. Really don't know what to do so I can connect, everything seemed right when compiling the binary... It's running on Kubuntu 14.04. Please help.
