General Discussion / Re: MasterCard with BitUSD? could be with CCEDK

And, what else do you need to begin working on making a UnionPay card available?
If you guys want to capture that market, you gotta act now!

We try to put focus on it all step by step, and although Unionpay is a great product, we will have to work it according to our time scedule as we are limited in hours per day to get all done as quick as we really wish. So dont worry, we will try to do all we can to work with Unionpay a.s.a.p. :)

Do you have an idea when the bitEUR/USD/CNY cards will be available?

First we need the market created on CCEDK establishing steady liquidity in both buy and sell walls, for which we need the support from as many Bitshares members as possible, and at the same time the bitcoin debit nanocard is out there being tested good at the moment and a great way for everybody to find out how it works prior to signing up for the future nanocar supported by the bitassets.

Bottom line is I hope that we can have a card out there within a few months counting on all of you guys to start making a run on exchange creating ongoing transactions on both buy and sell walls.

Other than that, will the NanoCard take advantage of https://bitshares.github.io/technology/recurring-and-scheduled-payments/ ?

It is all part of ongoing talks at the moment :)

How about calling it like this:

A SmartCoin™ Debit NanoCard MasterCard with no volatility risk – A possible Gamechanger! - http://www.reddit.com/r/BitShares/comments/394zoc/a_smartcoin_debit_nanocard_mastercard_with_no/

why not just:

A SmartCoin-STABLE™ Debit Nano-MasterCard

When we reach the point where the card needs produced, we can call it whatever the bitshares holders would  prefer to be creating the biggest impact on the use of it to the whole world, so we will have some fun getting proper name figured out :)

Great!
And it will be excellent, if you support Unionpay or Alipay. This will open the door to moon!

Alipay we already tried o they will be hard to work with, as they have also publicly said that they dont accept crypto currencies, unless you have news regarding this witin the last half year I guess. Them and competitor is it Tricent or something like this.

Talk about Alipay, I wonder when Baba share can be traded in Bitshares network, that could nice. before it hits the fan an just goes up

I am always looking for ways to reach to the moon, so I am all ready for options, thanks

What is "SmartCoin™", why is it "trademarked" and who owns it?

Hmm, now you ar making me confused. Cass gave me this info. Understoo it was trademarked as part of the bistassets.

Any chance to add Neteller?

We are working on options like this, but not all of these accept crypto exchanges.

Part of the reason for a danish website with a chinese interface is becasue we would love to show the chinese community that we  want them onboard. I hope the new banking contact will make it possible to bring CNY quickly and with low cost to the exhange as well, but lets see what @btswildpig finds out.

I know also it is planned to add possibility of the card to be denominated not only in EUR and USD but also in CNY, and that would be on both the bitcoin as well as the BITUSD NanoCard.

I think that's the right direction. CNY is big in crypto, not just BitShares. When are you expecting news from the banking contact?

any work via Unionpay will have to come a little later, but no doubt we are already looking into this as well, we just cant do all at once, sadly but true.

That's alright. With a bitXXX card you guys are already ahead of any other exchange I personally know of. Things seem to be moving in the right direction.

Is mastercard not as widely used as unionpay in China? otherwise I see a BitCNY Debit Nanocard issued by Mastercard a potentially strong possibility soon.

In my (limited) experience, I've always had more luck with VISA than MC in China. But in terms of coverage and fees, UnionPay takes the cake.
I heard it is like this in many countries in the vicinity as well.

Either way, IME, it's undeniable that UnionPay is the better choice in the region (coverage/fees).
As a plus, UnionPay is already accepted in many places in Europe too.

Thanks very much for your comments, I appreciate them all, sorry for not getting back to you any earlier..

Thank you very much for the reply. I wish your exchange all the best and looking forward for the great things to come.

Thank you, I do hope to see you on exchange as well, even if it means doing your trading and moving it to your bitshares wallet for further transactions afterwards. It is afterall the way many traders do nowadays, and I believe the instant order feature to appear in next coming days will be very interesting to anyone not planning to stay o a centralized exchange any more than necessary.

First of all welcome and  +5% +5% +5% for supporting Bitshares and bitassets.

I am very close  to order a nanocard and I only have some security concerns. If I understand correctly in order to use the card my funds should be deposited on the exchange ? What happens if the exchange is hacked? Presumably there is no insurance against lost funds isn't it?

Since I am a bit paranoid with security, I was wondering if it would be possible in the future to top up my card with biteur or bitusd from my bitshares wallet without the need to deposit any funds on the CCEDK exchange directly. For example would it be possible to fund my card by sending the relevant amounts via bitshares to ccedk bitshares account with a memo of my registered account number with the ccedk exchange so then my card is funded and ready to use? A service like this would make a real game changer especially if ccedk exchange makes the bitasset to fiat conversion and deposits the fiats with a banking partner who is responsible for the fiat funds that are loaded on my nanocard.

Lastly, when do you estimate that bitusd, biteur could be supported in the nanocard?

Thank you very much and wish you all the best

hello mf-tzo,

I can only say I understand your concern, and although we have not yet listed it on exchange we operate with a reserve fund putting aside some 30% of any of the crypto related income we get from fees etc. It is a long term insurance feature, but we do have this in place planning to get it up this new platform of ours very soon now. In future I have a feeling we will have something close to what you are in fact asking here, but cannot tell you any date on this, as the development of this nanocard and its ability to be supported in various ways will open up for so many new possibilities in near future, so all I can say here is that you might have a solution like this by the end of the year, but I cannot promise you this right now. I cannot say to you we will not be hacked, I dont think that would be serious just reading the news, but I can asure you we are doing all we can to avoid such matters to happen, and with our new platform we introduced end of April, I feel we are in a very good position with some great security features.

But to sum all up, we believe the possibilities of offering such a game changer is possible in near future, more information will come soon I am quite certain of this. :)

First off - thanks for the effort to help Bitshares. I do appreciate it.

2 minor points:

- How do you manage to meet the  expenses associated with meeting  regulatory requirements? I mean, I know about this exchange for about 9 mo. and the volumes across the board are...let's face it... very low.  You do not have to answer this...I just wonder and worry. Anyway I hope bitUSD/USD pair helps that.

- You have a decent number of coinA/BTC pairs. Any reason BTS/BTC is not one of those. It might be not the greatest income producer for your exchange but the lack of it is...odd.

Thank you Tony k for the welcome,,

Meeting regulatory requirements for our company located in Denmark is fortunately something we can build and create as we feel fit, not to say we relax on that part but the requirements are still very flexible in Denmark compared to so many other countries and we try to make the best of it and also to be ready when it really counts. We do have some interested parties also supporting us, so all in all we believe we still have what it takes to help move Bitshares even further than whre it is already today. We feel it a great challenge.

Regarding the bts pairs not listed on the exchange I hope @Bytemaster will comment on this, as it is only due to strategic reasons they are not up there.
