Come on – please vote for fund.bitsharesbreakout

Sadly, no one gets in without BM's approval....

General Discussion / Re: Sold all of my Bitshares

BTS train unloading as many bulls as it can at the bottom before it leaves forever...  It's going to take as few passengers as it can, but the ones that it does will be richly rewarded.

Can we get ZAR on as a market issued asset on Bitshares.
There are no African currencies represented and South Africa is leading the way for Africa in activity and start-ups related to Bitcoin.

I hope that people calling for new market issued assets would ask themselves where the liquidity is going to come from to bootstrap these markets. There is nowhere near enough liquidity in current markets for which price feeds already exist. Why add new markets before the present ones, such as bitGOLD, bitEURO, bitCHF, etc are established? Where are the buyers to support so many different markets at this early stage? Let's at least try to walk before we try to run.

How many bitZAR do YOU plan on purchasing if your suggestion is taken up?

bitZAR may not be liquid for a long time... in fact it may never be liquid.  IMO bitUSD will be the only liquid bitAsset currency since it is pegged to the reserve currency of the world.  The USD is accepted almost everywhere, so why even bother holding any other currency if you have the choice?  BitUSD gives every person in the world the ability to hold the most widely accepted fiat currency.
that is your point of view ..
did you know that emirates and others are discussing to switch from petrodollar to petroeuro?
once the petrodollar dies .. so does your argumentation ..
the world is colorful my friend!

The world has been screaming death of the dollar for the last 70 years... "once the dollar dies, [insert name] currency will be the future!"... I'm not going to argue if the dollar gets replaced, all I know is that it hasn't.  In fact over the last 6 months the dollar has dramatically rallied against every major currency.

Countries "discuss" things all the time... They rarely take action.  Very similar to bitshares...

General Discussion / Re: Dead forum...

As much as I've enjoyed reading the forum to find out & discuss what's happening, I think a little less of that is positive for BitShares. The thing is largely built now and we don't need the sorts of debates about its structure that we once had. BitShares will soon be moving beyond its developmental stage.

What I really miss is all the threads talking about how rich we all are going to be ;)!

Isn't this new PR person suppose to be doing actual PR?  I haven't heard one word about bts since Dan and the dev's were gagged

Anyone else notice how slow this forum has gotten?  We are now down to like 10 English posters... It's too bad because this used to be a hotbed for bitshares conversation...

Excellent work! How are you not voted in yet!?

Sadly I have not yet but if you like what you see please vote https://bitsharesblocks.com/delegate/info?name=delegate.verbaltech

Sounds like a great opportunity... will you be having a mumble to describe the plan?  Do you think this project can be completed this year?  I doubt there are many people on the forum with a spare 50g to invest, as they are probably 100% invested in bts.  You probably will need to find the funds elswhere or hope BM has some left.

Fact is we have a lot of great delegates sitting at 2%+, but without BM's blessing it will be almost impossible to get in...

General Discussion / Argentina and Mexico Remittance Opportunity
« on: March 03, 2015, 12:06:02 am »
This article appeared on coindesk.  They appear to be trying to create a remittance service without the customer knowing they are using bitcoin as the medium of exchange.  I know we have been trying to do this with bitshares lately.  It could be a great opportunity to get a gateway up and going in South America.  I have contacted them with an email about the usefulness of bitshares, but maybe @matt608 or @Gentso1 could follow up as well since you guys are the pros.

General Discussion / Re: Should Bytemaster's Hangouts Continue? (POLL)
« on: February 27, 2015, 06:08:15 pm »
Right now I don't know what the value is for Dan to keep doing the mumbles every week.  We all know that the main goal is to get to 1.0.  After we achieve 1.0 I believe he will come back to the forums and gauge interest in different activities (Bond markets, Options, Trading terminal, etc).  Spending time on the forums is distracting and takes time away from our immediate goal of releasing a 1.0 client.

Also if there are large business development dealing going on behind the scenes, I don't think he wants to take a risk that he lets something slip out before the proper time.  It's like the "quite" period a company has before announcing earnings.

General Discussion / Re: The BitShares Online Web Wallet is ready...
« on: February 27, 2015, 03:56:02 am »
Can I only access the web wallet from my computer and only on the browser I used to create the wallet?  Can I access it from another location or another computer?  What does the brain key do?

If you load the brain key onto another computer's browser, it can regenerate your keys allowing you to spend from that machine.

How exactly do I regenerate my keys... Can I do it on the same computer but with a different browser?

Was this particular message sanctioned by "The Spokesman":P

I was wondering the same  ::)

None of the Dev's actually have to abide by the PR sanctioning rule... they are all being paid by the block chain and are free to do what they wish... Granted Dan could vote them out if they don't do as they are told
