General Discussion / BTER Withdrawals
« on: December 14, 2014, 05:11:07 am »
Has anyone been having trouble with withdrawals from BTER lately?  I tried withdrawing today and BTER says they sent the transaction, but it hasn't shown up in my wallet yet...  I hope its not lost

Fuzz I've also had a problem withdrawing from BTER recently.  It's been a few hours since I sent them from the exchange to my wallet, but they havn't shown up yet.  You still having this same problem?

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Delegate Proposal: stan.delegate.xeldal
« on: December 12, 2014, 07:54:19 pm »
It appears Stans delegate has fallen to 104 and is no longer in a payed position.

A reminder to please support this delegate for Stan's continued support as Lead Operations Management.

I think something weird is happening with the votes... I noticed Cass just jumped 4% to #91

$200/hr is reasonable for contract-based development. I bet you guys were "asking" too much instead of "offering" to sponsor their project with a delegate if they added bitUSD support.

I did tell them how a delegate would be able to offer them compensation for their work.  I still think this would be a viable option, but I'm not sure if something similar to bitmarkets is in the works right now by the core dev team.  I don't want to double up on work that's already being done.

It's their way of politely declining our offer. I got the same answer.

I figured as much... Too bad. I liked their product.

I have contacted bitmarkets.  They said that they would be willing to do a fork so that their bitmarkets program works with bitshares.

The want to charge $200/hour as a consulting fee... I mentioned applying for a delegate job but they don't seem interested.

Does this seem like something that we would want to do???

This is their website: Voluntary.net and  http://cofactorsoftware.com

General Discussion / Re: [FYI] Microsoft now accepts Bitcoin through BitPay
« on: December 11, 2014, 05:46:34 pm »
With this news Bitcoin barely jumped in price. When will people jump/convert into Bitshares? Now that is the real question.

why would msft accepting bitcoin provide a catalyst for an increase in price?? It's more corporate bullshit of converting btc immediately to fiat.  They could care less if bitcoin lives or dies.  It's just another revenue stream for them and in all honestly more of a PR move.  Get excited when they actually hold and pay in bitcoin or any crypto.

Coindesk had an interesting article on a company called bitmarkets.

Their escrow is pretty interesting since it only involves 2 people.

"Bitmarkets' escrow system could make it more attractive to users, however. OpenBazaar's is different in that it works with three parties consisting of the buyer, seller and a trusted third-party. Funds can only be released if two of those three parties sign off on a multi-signature account.

Bit markets cuts all the fat out of a transaction, relying solely on the buyer and seller. Sellers have to 'lock' in funds equal to the price of the item being sold. Buyers do the same, but lock double the amount. The locked funds are held in escrow in their Bitmarkets wallets. When a transaction is completed smoothly, the locked amounts are released and the seller is paid."

Wtf is this?  Bringing a female into the forums will do absolutely squat. If she is planning on helping MethodX team, that's fine. If this is a feeler to get her her own delegate, whether 3 or 100% I will not support that based on just because she is a "female".

Constantly looking off camera, drinking on camera and the "grab ass" clips at the end scream professional. /s  Not to mention the contrived Bitcoin/BitShares interest for over a year, yet she is just getting involved through a guy hat has been here for a couple months.

The community isn't stupid... there's no way she would get a delegate just because she posted a video of her drinking wine.  At least I hope not.

Kind of unsettling how all of a sudden the bitshare's leaders drop their professionalism to subtly hit on the first girl showing them interest.

General Discussion / Re: Why BTS is falling like this?
« on: December 05, 2014, 04:19:11 pm »
So... coming back on the OP...Why we are falling again? a week ago there was a nice pump with some decent volume and since then fall again despite the nice developments and snapshots... This doesn't create much confidence so I was wondering of potential explanations..

Because its been the same money sloshing around in bitshares for the last 6 months.  I would say more people left because of the dilution and we havn't gained that back despite additional accounts.  Buying bitshares takes way way too long and it involves coverting fiat to bitcoin then bitcoin to bitshares.  Until you can buy bitshares straight with fiat we are destined to slosh around in this 30-50 mil market cap range.

Remember the rule of trading:

More buyers than sellers = price increase

We've had the same buyers for months

You may very well be right, we will see.

It takes all of us to make a market, all our competing opinions. :)

Not saying I wouldn't love to see it go parabolic though :D
