generally speaking I agree with the principles addressed by @xeroc

firstly, we need discuss this issue based on realism, not idealism.

BTS need to be listed on more primary exchanges,  then BTS can have more solid price support, and the shorters will have more safe space to avoid big risks and provide enough smartcoins.   we need this happen ASAP.

for smartcoins like bitCNY, bitUSD there is another thing, frankly speaking, just listing bitUSD/bitCNY in one exchange make no sense, we have proved this in poloniex, bittrex and yunbi long time ago. what we need is to convince some exchange to open the bitUSD/bitCNY market, just as what poloniex and Bitfinex  do with USDT.

this is not easy, but I saw some possibilities, in China now many exchanges are going abroad and using BTC/USDT as the trading currency, AFAIK, in the coming month, 3-5 exchanges of this type will (re)list BTS. some of them are investing the possibility of using bitCNY as trading currency, what they worry most is that the supply of bitCNY cannot satisfy their demand.

if we believe that listing on more exchanges is one of the most important factor in BTS' growth, then we need to handle the compliance thing carefully.

Getting listed on centralized exchanges is *ALL ABOUT COMPLIANCE*. They
need to make sure they act according to law and regulations, otherwise
they may see trouble from officials.

now in China many blockchain team make their project go through Howey test to ensure that the token is not identified as security.

but regarding bittrex which has hurt BTS community a lot, I don't think we should pay to relist BTS. we need public explanation and apology from them! if they do not want to relist BTS, up to them.

for other exchanges, I think "list BTS and keep BTS daily volume > $200k in the next 30 days" is a good term for $50k offer. 

I feel what we are talking about are:

1. to which direction should Bitshares evolve while the other blockchains evolve rapidly?

2. how to implement the new change and fund the development?

after go through this thread and some relevant posts, I tend to agree the ideas come from https://steemit.com/bitshares/@slavix/beos-bitshares-on-eos-alternative-proposal-for-bitshares-3-0 :  make an EOS clone with BTS as a base token.

maybe smart contracts and VM are the most important factors for the next step evolution of Bitshares, however, EVM is designed specially on Ethereum blockchain, I don't think it can be smoothly integrated into Bitshares blockchain, the obvious difference between the 2 blockchains base will make this process tough, so why not adopt EOS VM, which is also built on Graphene base, instead in this scenario?

thinking continully, if we need to adopt most of the good features introduced by EOS, why not just clone EOS and make BTS the base token? and realize the current Bitshares features as native smart contracts on BEOS (Bitshares on EOS)

to avoid the potential risks and fit the possibility that there is no consensus from community, one selection is to hard fork BTS to 2 parts, one classical BTS and one BEOS, like BTC and BCC, then each one can still prefer what he likes most and the better one will emerge with time elapse.

A worker proposal can be created to fund the development and implementation of this, after a skilled team is organized.



 

bitBTC is not a successful example.

BTC is not as stable as CNY/USD, so borrowing or holding bitBTC means much more risk  than doing the same to bitCNY/bitUSD, and BTC itself is a blockchain token, no enough necessity to create other token to peg it.

OpenLedger is good, but what they do is far from enough, as a gateway, they should do much more market making work to their UIA but they do not, that's why I am preparing another gateway, the name is GDEX.

one key point for BTS to grow is the demand for smart coins grow, which means there should be many assets in DEX for traders to trade. in other words, we need to make DEX an exchange with liquidity and depth similar to central exchange.

surely if we can realize side chain or some other cross-chain way to move tokens from otherchains to BTS, we may not need most of the UIA, but now in my view we still need to rely on UIA to make DEX to grow.

the other key point for BTS is to be listed in more central exchanges, we need more volume for BTS, we need BTS price to grow, only then it's possible for smartcoin supply to grow and attract more people to accept it.

for example, as China banned cryptocurrency exchange, now it's not  easy for people to buy tokens with CNY, some exchanges outside China are considering to open bitCNY markets, their main concern is that bitCNY supply is too low.

that's also what I am trying to do: make BTS be listed in more exchanges and create a gateway to make DEX have much more trading volume.
 

I am not sure how my assets were stolen, but I believe it was not done by the ones beside me through my laptop, but by some hacker that got the private key from Internet.

firstly security base on good habits, I should not put so much assets in a bot account which is daily used in a laptop where everything is done.

I don't think the 2FA solution is helpful in this scenario, if hacker get your private key, you lose everything, nothing can help you.

maybe only multisig and even hard/cold wallet can really help to protect the accounts with huge amount of assets?

Transwiser page will be removed from BTS wallet.
