General Discussion / All delegates or potential delegates
« on: November 18, 2014, 06:14:02 pm »
Until we have a more developed and organized method for finding delegate information, I think it would be good practice to list your delegate name, short summary, pay rate and link to additional information within your forum signature.

Maybe we can also create a delegate subforum, with a sticky at the top, listing delegates and potential delegates in alphabetical order with the same (maybe one line) summary, pay rate and link to a personal thread for that delegate within the delegate subforum.

Example:
-----------------------------
Delegate: dev0.nikolai
Summary: Developing all the things
Pay rate: 100%
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11351.0  <---park this thread in the delegate subforum.

*Edit: I just noticed: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?board=61.0 - which seems far too general - Can we make a second subforum that is structured somewhat similarly to the one I described above.

DAC PLAY / Re: Do you find the BitShares PLAY allocation just?
« on: November 16, 2014, 10:01:33 pm »
Regardless of the whether the allocation changes or not, this issue has been divisive. Delulo, godzirra - you realise you are arguing over a 55% stake, while BM mentioned there is no need for the remaining 45% stake to be allotted elsewhere?

Instead of the infighting, unite and request Hackfisher for the following distribution - 50% non-vested BTS, 50% AGS+PTS, and paid delegates through dilution (basically asking for 15% extra for each group - no need to take away from one to give to another).

Nailed it.

tonyk and donkeypong get it - and JoeyD has found the official bitshares Roadmap and forum theme song...

donkeypong - if we go with NYD, it's got to be Red Rocks:

tonyk - Imagine will be the perfect, permanent theme song as soon as we're done using this one:

Low voter turnout is a good thing.  It means people aren't pissed off.

In the case of Bitshares, I agree.

But it can also mean that those with the ability to vote don't feel it will change whatever they are pissed about.
I think this reasoning represents a significant percentage of the non-voter attitude in the US, at least - and I agree with them.

Thank you bytemaster, I3, and everyone involved for doing this. I just can't commend you enough for this. Hopefully these words of praise from a very skeptical and somewhat ornery guy are enough to convey the point.  +5%

BTW, Bitshares is...Bitshares.

I don't know if we need a more descriptive explanation for use by the broader population.

For business pitches, I would guess that describing it as a "Blockchain-based platform for decentralized applications" might be sufficient.

Bitshares is a life style  8)
C for Church?  :o

This is similar to what continues to bother me about using the term "community".

Although those of us here can see it and understand it in the proper perspective, I can easily imagine those hostile to the Bitshares concept attempting to define and frame it as having Amway type exclusivity.

Define our be defined.

General Discussion / Re: Our Technology - For Average Joe
« on: November 10, 2014, 01:07:49 am »
"Blockchain" must stay and should be referred to whenever applicable, which is hopefully often - it is a pretty awesome word. ;-)

While many laymen do not yet understand the terminology, being early adopters, part of our responsibility is helping to define, describe and popularize the most important terms.

How many people understood or could visualize the "internet" in the early 90's?

Would you have pitched Prodigy, Compuserve or AOL without using the word?
