Personally I'd prefer you just bring their whole ecosystem on board so they don't need to cash out, but for now I'll settle for on and off ramps.   :P

I don't know of any bad news.  Seems like bad news would be a faster drop, also.  Looks more like gradual depression from lack of sufficient short term good news.

I would say the first step is to attack DevShares without informing the community when and how it will happen...

One of the elements for a successful attack is 'surprise'.  If we take this element out, I doubt it can have a successful outcome.

If the goal is to damage the network, this is true.  If the goal is to strengthen the network by discovering any vulnerabilities, then it depends on the nature of the vulnerability.

If the weakness is clearly apparent once attention is brought to it, there's no need to actually exploit it to demonstrate that it exists.  If a more subtle and controversial weakness exists, a demonstration on either DevShares or the main network might be required.

I appreciate Come-from-Beyond's efforts on this, and am also curious about his hardware angle.

Keep in mind, that's not BTC/USD, it's BTC/bterUSD.  Deposits for USD into BTER are disabled, and the only way to withdraw bterUSD is EgoPay.

Basically bterUSD has very little to do with any other sort of USD.

This effort is exciting and on target.  I spent 5 of my growing up years in West Africa, and I'm convinced that BitShares could do amazing things for African economies if it caught on there.

I think it balances out somewhat.  Centralized exchanges have higher trade fees but don't charge for making and canceling orders.  I don't think higher fees are a good idea.
