MemoryCoin / Vote for MMC2 in Cryptsy's offical poll!
« on: January 01, 2014, 09:47:10 am »
Hi guys,
Please vote for MemoryCoin (they got the coin abbreviation wrong as MEG) to be added on Cryptsy:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=309704.0

This is guaranteed to add at least 100% in value for the coin.

If you don't have a Cryptsy account yet, register here:
http://goo.gl/eaiO5w

Good luck!

EDIT: Just noticed that it's a very old post... Not sure if relevant.

seems make failed
followed guild in this thread, any idea?
thx

Make sure you don't have 2 instances running... This will cause the segmentation fault.
Another reason would be a very low memory machine (less than 1gb).

How long does it take for blocks to mature?

Last confirmed block was 2713, mined 8 hours ago.
80 Confirmations
Each block should average 6 minutes, so 8 hours sounds right.

What and how high fees are on Bter?

If you register through a referral link it's only 0.18%

I tried doing this but doesn't work, I checked the cpu usage and it seems to go to a 100% then to 0 and a few minutes later the same thing.

How do I delete everything and just install it manually?

Try looking into the nohup.out file (less nohup.out + shift+f) to see what's going on.
Don't use Micro instances or very low memory ones

Just threw my votes into the ring, hopefully they made a difference.
I just saw them, thank you very much.

I can't stand the thought that someone with clearly enough wealth already is stealing from the charity pot. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same person currently mining at 350h/m
I'm one of the top miners (more than 350 h/m) and I would never do that.. Although, as I wrote above it's extremely easy to fool the system... This voting system needs rethinking.
Its proportional, so if you sent 1 vote from 500 wallets with 1 coin each it would be the same as one vote from a wallet with 500 coins.

Yep, as I wrote... It's even worse...
1 vote from a 51k MMC wallet > 5000 votes from a 10 MMC wallet.
So money is power...
Thats currently 40BTC at current rates, but buying that many would push the price UP so its not really much of a problem. The more people that come here, the more dispersion of wealth there is and the more democratic it becomes.

When is money ever not power?

40BTC OR a big amount of Protoshares + massive amount of MMC from previous role rewards (ceo, cto).
I'm not making these numbers up. Scroll up to my messages and you can see an example... How 1 single vote with a 51k (now more) wallet chose a candidate.

Ubuntu 13.10 x64........DigitalOcean Droplet

After I pasted above code (with appropriate core values) and pressed Enter after all done, I am getting following error:

"/usr/local/mmcminer# nohup: ignoring input and appending output to ‘nohup.out’"

then it just stops there and if I press any key, it goes back to command prompt.

I am new to Linux...........help will be appreciated.

EDIT:
If I run directly run minerd........then I am getting following error:

"[05:52:45] 2 miner threads started, using MMC Momentum Proof-of-Work algorithm.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)"

Sorry, I should've been clearer.
When you run the last line, it runs the miner in the background.
You can see the progress in the nohup.out file.
Use "
Code: [Select]
less nohup.out" then press shift+f to watch the live progress.

Still getting Segmentation fault (core dumped) error:

"./minerd --url http://work.mmcpool.com --user <addresshere> --threads 2
./run.sh: line 2: 21546 Segmentation fault (core dumped) "

You probably have 2 instances of the miner running, or maybe you chose a low memory machine. I don't know how much memory this miner needs, it could be more than 1GB.

tried Ubuntu 13.10 X64 and Fedora 19 X64
Ubuntu 13.10 X64 Should be fine...
No idea why you're seeing this, sorry.
