Personally, I think its about right as PTS is officially hard to gain unless you have the hardware.

Guys,  yes its down.  Bytemaster is probably away / asleep.  This is still beta and no doubt its been DDOS by another mining pool out of spite.  Once bytemaster is awake he will investigate.

THIS HAPPENS ON ALL POOLS not just this pool.  Its a regular occurrence in the PTS world at the moment as its very new.

Once things settle and networks get stronger, this will not happen as much as it does with all pools.

Thank you very much for your replies.

Which pool mining would you recommend? Since i do not have a good hardware does it make sense to mine within a pool (i assume that solo mining is out of the question with my hardware) or my electricity costs would be much higher? how can i calculate my electricity cost?

I apologise in advance as i am sure that you probably lough now with my questions. I am new to all these but very keen to learn... I am trying to understand more but you guys speak a completely different language and i do not understand much through the web and the forums...

Don't be sorry for making money and wanting to learn dude.  We were all there at some point.

For now, start on any pool.  All pools at the moment have issues (down time and bugs) but everyone is on one of these:  http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=168.0
Solo mining is near enough a no no.  Block to be had are difficult.  Pool mining with your hpm might give you 1pts in two / 3 days.  Even if you decide to mine in a pool, you need decent hardware (i5 / i7 equivalent would be recommended).

Electricity.  Its the power consumption of your PC and all vary.

server workload is quite high currently, i'm working on a fix, keep calm

@NineLives:
there are not hps/hpm in v0.5 (which i recommend)
and no pts
srsly, please read at least the first post in this thread...

I understand dude but then how are we comparing.  You will have to excuse my knowledge but PPS info and how do I measure with other pools to commit all my current 259hpm with you?  What have I got to measure with.

I'm sorry my questions may sound annoying but I need to know.

Thanks allot.

I cant work out hps..  It tells me but its incredibly low.  That's doesn't look right (4.xx hps on a machine that does 35hps)?  What am I missing?

@ 4.xx you will get 1PTS in around 2days.

You need better hardware.
