… in that order. Everything else depends on those.

Do we really need market order functionality for two linked trades?

How about:
1) The client searches all open limit orders (like the ripple path-finder) and determines the best combination of orders to move from Asset1 -> BitUSD -> Asset2.
2) The client then files a fill-or-kill order combination (one or more limit order(s) Asset1 -> BitUSD plus one or more limit order(s) BitUSD -> Asset2).

This order combination could only be executed in total or not at all and would have a fairly short expiry (maybe one minute) so that it could be altered and reposted if unsuccessful.

Yes but then USD on bter is also not real USD but just bterUSD. Shouldn't that be trading at a discount as well? It is just as illiquid as bterbitUSD.

So if both bterbitUSD and bterUSD are discounted shouldn't the ratio be 1:1 again?

In any case, it's pointless :)

sounds like Nubits.

in this case, i like our approach more.

with the difference that Nubits are not bought back/destroyed when in oversupply. They are just hidden :)

Imagine an exchnage pairing USD with USD.
"Just send us your USD and you can trade it with USD"  :D

No need to trade USD/BitUSD

Just 1:1

BitUSD is like an altcoin to USD, it's pointless

If it's 1:1 how come it's trading between 0.91 and 0.99 here:
https://bter.com/trade/BITUSD_USD

With one of the next updates cross-currency trading in BitShares will be enabled.

This way you can offer exchanging BitRUB <-> rouble with a much tighter spread and don't have to worry about volatility.
In addition to this you can bolster the internal BitUSD/BitRUB market with your liquidity.

Great post, I especially like this one:

Dollar denominated debt collateralized by BTS.

It's the most concise explanation of BitUSD I've come across.

The threshold for forced cover is 150% (or 66.67% inverse).

As you mentioned you start with 300%. Margin call is executed when collateral value drops to 150% of shorted asset, i.e. 50% of the original value.

You're right about the 30 day expiration: No 5% penalty.

It seems to be making its way towards 250$ if that's what you mean :)

Allowing collateral to vote would increase my weight quite a bit :)
I heard it's going to be included soon.

... If you subtract some countries that are basically just selling off their resources, ...

In spite of this I would like to keep BitAUD :)

Is this not active in the current version or am I using it the wrong way?

I type this:
wallet_market_submit_relative_bid myaccountname "1" BTS "0.99" USD

and get a few pages of error messages starting with this:

Code: [Select]
10 assert_exception: Assert Exception
eval_state._current_state->get_head_block_num() >= BTS_V0_4_27_FORK_BLOCK_NUM:
{}

With the network outage today I am actually quite happy that the marketing push has not happened yet.

Get 1.0 first - and get it soon.

Is KRW widely used? USD, EUR, CNY makes sense - but KRW?

I believe people in Korea use it every day, and there are millions of them :)

When a market freezes you can still buy or sell, only shorting becomes impossible. I'm not suggesting that's an excuse to drop feeds once they're up.
