SCAM ALERT!

originally promised to announce a winner yesterday- so far no word. I knew it sounded too good to be true!

I was busy helping the guy connect his new bitshares account. Sorry about the delay.

Now launching a campaign on twitter and Facebook simultaneously.

Social advertising would be much appreciated RG! The first meet is in 6 days.

http://www.meetup.com/bitshares-worldwide/

I'd rather go to established Bitcoin meetups .. but that has the particular reason that where I live, even in the bitcoin meetups there are <10 people ..

From my experience there aren't many people attending the Bitcoin meetup in Detroit either. I think the most I saw was 4. I started one to focus on 2.0 technologies (namely bitshares) for a few reasons:

1) To make the meetup content accessible and draw in non technical early adopters that are interested in startup opportunities, crowdfunding, social activism, and merchant integration with BitShares platform.

2) Didn't want to co-opt the Bitcoin meetup as a newer member by focusing on non-Bitcoin content.

3) Wanted to make it Bitshares centric for marketing purposes, while also fostering non-maximalist attitudes. These technologies are tools, not tribes.

I am aiming to find people in the area that want to actively pursue cryptocurrency adoption in Detroit by pitching businesses, working on software, education materials, and the like. My intention is to have an "action oriented" meetup where we focus on what we can do in the local community to take action and bring about change.

You have a good point. How about "meetups" in Universities? This way, you can piggy back on the already existing traffic of young and "open minded" early adopters.

If you have a well established meetup, it could be a great way to bring new people on board by giving away paper wallet with 1 bitusd on it for example. I don't mind helping out to bring more people to those meetups if you are there.

I have delegate funds to promote Meetups via Facebook and other media such as radio(universities), flyers, etc.

I would like to see meetups mushroom all over the world and having an entire arm of marketing dedicated to fill those meetings.
But first, we have to start grassroot.

Do you plan on organizing a BitShares Meetup or joining the local Bitcoin Meetup to share BitShares Decentralized Exchange?

Let's do this everyone!

hey Fav! Yes, it is. The affiliate should be free of my affiliate link and anyone should be able to send traffic to it and get credited.

General Discussion / Re: Argentina and Mexico Remittance Opportunity
« on: March 09, 2015, 03:53:12 pm »
It's a chicken and an egg problem with liquidity.
2 options:

1. Market our wallet like crazy in Argentina and by doing so increase our liquidity and finally attract those bigger player.
Then move up to bigger player.

2. Focus on big player, like ripple, and bring it big players who are sold on the vision.

« on: February 27, 2015, 04:56:39 am »

General Discussion / Fiat Gateways
« on: February 24, 2015, 08:23:03 pm »
Hi everyone

I have partners who may be interested in building a fiat gateway.
Where does someone go to get more info? Are there plans to have an "out of the box" back-end for this?

They are located in Canada so would we be bound to CAD -> bitCAD gateway?

Would a template to organize meetups be helpful to you?

I'm working on such document as we speak.

For example, making a demo of one of our mobile wallet and give away bitusd, make people trade among one another and then buy a coffee at the coffee shop where you hold the meetup.

You can then by back the bitusd from the coffee shop if he doesn't want to keep it or tell him to turn it into BTS if he wants to profit from the future of BitShares.

Great way to convert business and users simultaneously.

General Discussion / Meetup.com is the BOMB
« on: February 22, 2015, 04:54:44 pm »
As I mentioned in my last delegate report, meetup.com is a fantastic way to get new users. (Online to Offline Funnel)

By strictly focusing on online conversions, we expect people to go through a lot of hoops by themselves in front of their computer.
Only the determined actually follow through (hence the cost of conversion)

With our mobile wallets coming out soon, we can start meetups that connect people who have problems with our tech.
We can grow the pie rather than fighting for a piece of the bitcoin.

Last week, for example, we help advertise the Buenos Aires Meetup and added 23 RSVP in the last 48 hours before the event.

On site, they were walked through registering an account, trading, etc. They probably made friends, experienced the tech and connected with other people with similar interest.

Meetup.com is a powerful platform and I would like to see our meetups "mushroom" everywhere and create local communities of bitsharers.

I am dedicated to help people who organize them with Facebook advertising to fill those events, as long as the event is well structured. (Other media are also interesting...university radio ads for example)

Let's get this party started. :D
