General Discussion / Re: Montreal Bitshares Meetup
« on: February 22, 2015, 04:39:22 pm »
Here is what I believe when it comes to marketing bitshares via meetup.

1. Select your target market

If you are in Cote des Neige, I would suggest targeting foreign university students who use remittances services.

2. Have a product to put in their hands

The majority of people don't care about how Paypal work, they use it because they need it. If you have a mobile wallet you can showcase, help them open an account, register and then trade among each other, have a cheatsheet ready on how to fund their account, etc.

This way they have a real life experience and are more likely to actually use the tech. (I didn't understand bitcoin until I used it)

Connecting a product with a problem they have is the way we will get real new users.

It would be plenty to fill your time.

General Discussion / Meetup Battle Plan

Hello everyone!

I am a marketing delegate(100%) for BitShares and I believe that meetup.com is the best conversion engine we have.

With mobile wallets coming out, it is a golden opportunity to starts meetups that walk people through using our technology
for remittances for example.

Last week, with only $40, we were able to add 23 RSVP to a meetup we had in Argentina.

Please PM me if have a meetup going on.

General Discussion / Brainstorm - World Problem / BitShares Solution
« on: February 18, 2015, 06:35:14 am »
Here is a cool exercice that was inspired by my visit over at Peertracks website.

Now here is the exercice. Let's try to come out with as many "Industry Problems / BitShares Solutions" , put that in a document and create a repository of ideas for videos that can be picked up by anyone who's hired or volunteers for video production.

The series will be titled: "Worlds Problem / BitShares Solution"

Post below OR contribute to the document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rHi8IG1DNsINgYK8Lx-N-oDd4ST5ykbbW0X5BulO9ck/edit?usp=sharing

If a customer pays in BTC and then gets a refund after their money was held in escrow as BitUSD, they could get less BTC back than they expect. How would this problem be resolved?

Wouldn't it be so much easier if our dreams came true and everyone just used BitAssets? :)

That detail can be included in their policy.

As a relative noob when it comes to the Bitshares code and the general climate of everything right now being so hectic, I was wondering if I could help out in another way. It would satisfy my desire to learn the code and I think it would help you guys out. I notice that you guys for all your grand technical know how, suck at documentation. Maybe I could help you document what everything does? Would I be able to do this in the code and the wiki? Or should I stick to one or the other? Let me know.

I like people like you! :-)

I am more on the marketing side so I always appreciate people like you who can code. (i believe it's a form of superpower )

Hopefully you find a spot you can both have fun and feel useful.
