General Discussion / Bitstamp 5 Million Stolen - News Jacking!
« on: January 06, 2015, 07:31:30 am »
In lights of the recent event of Bitstamp and the fortuitous synchronicity of Bitshares.tv interview about decentralized exchanges, I think we should consider how we can take maximum advantage of the timing opportunity. (640 views on youtube in less than 24 hours)

Here is what you can do:

1- Share the video or bytemaster blogpost on social media such as twitter, facebook, google +, etc

Youtube -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtCVRIwcBYU
Bytemaster's Blog -> http://bytemaster.bitshares.org/article/2015/01/05/The-Future-of-Crypto-Currency-Exchanges/

2- Leverage your relationships with bloggers

3- Post a press release

4- Whatever you think is a good idea.

People know we need a decentralized exchange and it may put some pressure on the exchanges to become gateways.

You all rock,
Rgcrypto

Marketing Philosophy:

Advertising should be like a vending machine. You should be able to put money in at the top to get visitors to your siteā€¦and PROSPECTS should come out the bottom.

Great design!

Here is my input:

What is the marketing function of the website? To drive Downloads?
If that is the goal, you did it well.

I think a valuable thing to think about is lead generation. Maybe after the download page you can offer something of value(BTS, ebook, video serie, shareholder newsletter) in exchange for their email adress.

Building an email list to communicate with the community would be valuable. With that marketing asset, you could build a better glue in the shareholder community, the dev community, drive traffic to new videos, etc.

On the internet, email is still king.

Keep up the good work. +5%

I already send 1 BTS to your public address BTSX6rzAjnrViVDLsVvkSQiN6Z3Dxvt8ah6pRT7JMpzFnLeZLdqmCM .
Now you have the fee to register a name .

Thank you, that is really nice of you. But it doesn't appear on my account

I see that at the bottom left on my client: "Failure during transaction scanning"
Would that be the reason why I don't see anything in my account yet?

right,

Well here is where I am at. BTER only accept egopay for deposit.
Now, I opened an egopay account, I try to figure out how to deposit money but I can't find a way to put money directly from my credit card unto it. I have to give them 2 pieces of id's, or use sketchy looking russia exchangers website to buy egopayUSD to then transfer to EGOpay to then buy Bter to then buy BTS.

I can't believe how someone who simply want to get in can go through all those hoops.

Or maybe I am doing it wrong?

I know it is probably the most newbie question around but I have no clue how to buy BTS and where to do it?

I can see a lot of people talking about BTER.com but even there, I can't find a comprehensive tutorial on how to fund my account.

General Discussion / Re: BitShares TV Questions

I love the idea of BitShares TV.

Question:

Why would I want to own BitUSD?
and
Why would I want to own BitShares?

Restriction: One sentence answer only!  :D

NOTE: It would help me promote it in my circle.

Technical Support / BTER & EgoPay wallet funding

Wow, I never thought it would be that complicated to buy crypto.  :-\
Of course I am a total newbie but if you don't know how, it can really test your patience.

Now, I think it is a good lesson if we want BTS to be accessible to the audience who don't know about BTC.

Basically, I went to bter.com to buy BTS. But then I have to buy from EgoPay because they don't accept fund.
Once in EgoPay, I can't fund directly from my CC, I have to open a Payza Account?

Or I can use on of those weird looking exchange where everything is in russian?

Now am I doing something wrong here or it's normal to have to go through so many loops just to buy BTS?

Technical Support / Is there a step by step walkthrough somewhere?
« on: December 08, 2014, 05:29:51 am »
Hi!

I am brand new to crypto so you can imagine how confusing it can be.

If you have a good reference that can guide me step by step(video would be ideal) on what to do once the client is being downloaded.

Where do I buy BTS? How do I fund an exchange account if you are outside of the US, etc.

Thanks for helping me out. :D
