hmm, all sorts of cloud trials

here's one, for a month with valid cc, just have to cancel within trial period:

http://www.serverpronto.com/free-cloud.php

1cpu, 1GB RAM, 20gb HD, 5TB transfer

another:

www.softsyshosting.com

Quote
HURRY - $90 Free Credit ($15/m For 6 Months) & 25% Additional RAM FREE - Promo Code FLEXICLOUD90 at checkout

Quote
Flexi Cloud

1 - 500 Virtual Machines
30GB - 2TB SAS Disk Space
1 - 32 CPU Cores
1.25GB - 64GB ECC REG RAM
500GB - 10TB Premium Bandwidth
Administrator / Root RDP / SSH Access

From $14.95/m (Use Promo Code: FLEXICLOUD90) - ~$0.02/hr

Details || Order

Note: * Free RAM limited to 2GB per order

so essentially that means it'd be their cheapest VPS for 6 months, if you just wanted it to be free since it says the $90 is distributed $15/mo.

You were right about Datasoft or w/e, lol.  For the first two weeks I just piddled around with it, used maybe 50GB upstream.... then around halfway thru the month, I started transferring some files over from another server, and like 15minutes later they took my server down, cause of excessive bandwidth use or something?   Said they'd put it back up, etc.... I said, screw it, just cancel me.   Network was slow, slow, slow.

Anyway,

I haven't read all the fine print on this yet, but clubvps.com has a one month trial with code 1MONTH300 that says:

Promo Code Includes:
Free Month of:
1 Cloud Server Instance up to 100$ value
1000 GB Cloud Block Storage
1000 GB Outgoing Internet Traffic

I too am buying more at these low prices.
that's what people said when it was 2x what it's at now

if beedui hadn't of screwed me i would have sold at .02xx, but i still managed to get .015 at least

I would bother referring anyone, datasoft referral program is a scam.

I had about 40$ in earnings and asked how can I cashout, they said a minimum of 50$ is required to cashout. A week later I had collected about 65$ in earnings and when I spoke with them again they said its a 100$. Stupid scammers wouldn't give me my earnings. They then claimed to get credit for your referral purchases they must buy 2 months worth of services. Today my balance is 10 cents, still wondering where did all my earnings go? They took them...

Now They leave me no choice but to scam them in return...see their little promo that has been going on for quite some time? Well I abused it and literally got over 40 servers from them for a month for FREE!

Take that datasoft...your servers are shit too, awful just awful performance for a 24 core dedicated server.

haha, well, I guess it would be for a penny.  I guess they can't install OS'es themselves, all they let me choose from is windows (server 2003?) and centos, so I took windows.

I asked for IPMI access so I could install my own OS but I suppose you can't do that either

btw,

that's speedtest-cli from wable dallas vps =p

It charges paypal one cent and is non-recurring.

Is Wine still the best option for Linux? Or a Windows WM?

For Linux you can compile by your self, or download .deb package from our Nightly Build Server:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2952.45

Linux Download:
ftp://178.63.85.22/Bitshares-PTS/Linux/

Are those nighly build PTS Client versions reliable and the recommended way (for Ubuntu)?
Also there seems to be a problem with 14.04. See https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=4312.0 What is the recommended way to install the pts client here?

if it's compiled using a different version of libboost, then it needs to be recompiled, or you need to revert back to the earlier version of libboost.  i elected to recompile

22
yeah, just recompile it with the latest version and it will work

I didn't get anything. They promised to email me about in Jan 2014 but nothing yet.

I did the same thing back in January and they said I would receive an email in a few days. I think I remember filling an application out and then waiting for an approval. Then when I got the approval it said I would receive the code/coupon or credit in a "few" days. It Never came.

in my case, I got the acceptance letter... completed the conditions within 3 hours, & sent completed form back to them.  the very next day, (less than 24hrs later) I got an email about how I had applied for this 'earlier this month' and they were 'sorry about the confusion'.

but really the biggest blunder was this response, which should be publically available to see on the BBB website soon anyway (the lady that is handling my google case is gone until next week)...  anyway:

We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced applying for the Google Cloud Platform Starter Pack. We had to shut down the program in December as many people were violating our Terms of Service and engaging in cryptocurrency mining. We will reach out as soon as the Starter Pack re-launches in early March.

It'd be news to me if violating your contract with person X is fine, if person Y and Z are doing something they aren't supposed to.

There next response after waiting another 15 days:

Hey James,

Thanks for your response. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced applying for the Google Cloud Platform Starter Pack.

My team followed up with me and let me know that the we had to shut down the program in December for a variety of reasons. We will reach out as soon as the Starter Pack re-launches in early March.

Thanks,

Google BBB Team

which is essentially the same damn thing, except it includes my first name.  I've still not received an email from Google besides advertisements since December.

I've been waiting the last 2 weeks for the BBB to finalize my damn complaint (i'd be shocked if it was put in the "good faith" column) before moving forward on it.  It'll just make it a lot easier as my BBB complaint essentially has all the information needed.  Only difference is my expected resolution (not my $1000 + $1000 trial credits anymore, but some money).   When (if?) they rule in my favor, it'd be the first one to stick in 3 years (out of 1637).

I'm going to call that BBB office later today and see what the delay is.  It's already been over 2 weeks since my final rejection..

I'll let you know how it goes, anyway.  It may end up just being small claims court & I think I may have to go to California for that, even though Google does have a location in Austin, TX.  It'd be based on California law & I think defendant can choose location.

Worthless? Buddy, PM me and I'll buy all the PTS you've got. Have a little patience with this development team; they're working their asses off. Your PTS are going to be worth a mint, but not by next week.
I have 1000, how about .012 BTC each?

26
It was still fluctuating some, but ~1950 c/m on a GTX 780 w/ +200 core and -500 memory

it was running around 95% TDP (cudaminer goes to 107% when I have bar slid all the way over in evga precision)

Well.

I guess that's why they ignored my complaint, since it must only be a handful of ppl.   :-\

Guess I'll try the Santa Clara DA mediation first..

I guess this is a bit off topic, but I hope nobody moves it for at least a couple of days.  =p

I need to know if anyone else here received the actual acceptance letter from Google, re:

Date: Tue, 10 Dec 2013 18:08:56 +0000
Subject: Jibba Jabba, your $2,000 Google Cloud Platform credit is almost here!
From: cloudplatformstarterpack@google.com
To: xxx

Thank you for completing part one of the Google Cloud Platform Starter Pack Application. Good news, you have been selected to receive $1,000 in Compute Engine credit and $1,000 in App Engine credit.

----

and then completed the steps therein (placed credit card in two diff spots, created a project), and later was denied,  re:

Subject: Update: Google Cloud Platform Starter Pack
To: cloudplatformstarterpack@google.com

Earlier this month you received an email stating you have been selected to receive Google Cloud Platform credit.

Unfortunately, we cannot continue to process your application and award credit. There were a limited number of spots available and we are no longer accepting applications. We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience.

We hope to open up applications once again in late January.

Best,

The Google Cloud Platform Team

I'm wondering if it's just a couple of people, a handful, dozens, hundreds, or what.   If more than a handful of ppl on this msg board alone got that, I'd have to think it was at least 100+ (which  could then be a class action suit)

General Discussion / Re: [POLL] How much would you sell your BTS for?
« on: March 10, 2014, 02:52:40 pm »
I'll sell all mine for $15/ea.
and i will buy them  :D

and i don't buy a pizza with them

Why?  If this poll is a good representation of the entire pool of BTS owners then based on this poll there should be about 132K BTS for sale between $1-$5 when they start trading.  IMO, because this poll was made in the BTS forum, it's more optimistic than the general population of BTS owners.  If this accurate you should easily be able to buy BTS at $5.  Think of this poll as the offer side of a trading book.  The lowest offer and highest bid is the market.

I'd be surprised if they were at $5...  well, maybe for the first hour or so...  (re: tendency for any new thing on cryptsy to start high then fall off quickly)
