At present we are imagining it like this.

Merchant saves 40% by using bitUSD and offers to pass 20% savings on to customers.

At checkout page customer sees banner in the payment options section. "Pay anonymously and get a 20% discount by using bitUSD" or "Protect your privacy and get a 20% discount by using bitUSD" [hypelink]What is bitUSD?[/hyperlink]

Customer clicks on link.    Goes to a very nice corporate site.  Watches a short animated video (3mins) on how cool bitusd is. How he can download wallet(desktop or phone) and fund it within 60 seconds(cool on ramp not yet public) + spend it at legitimate non porn places like XYZ + with absolute anonymity + that some merchants offer discounts to use bitUSD because bitUSD is so awesome it saves them merchant fees + you earn real interest while the bitusd is in your account, so feel free to get a few extra bitUSD (more than you need for this next purchase)

Once user has funded wallet they are returned to the referring merchant.

Points to note:
Our site is professional. It feels like an Amex black card site.
Our site works for all merchants not just porn sites. Porn will be able to make 20-40% discounts where as Amazon will only be able to give 2% discounts, but it all works the same.
We will have there email address and can follow up with informative videos how they can get the "cool new CD like accounts" that pay higher interest than there bank and they may want to park some USD there.
If we can figure out some cool way to make more money on the back end (or get community support donation/dilution/delegate pay)  we can pay an army of sales people to approach businesses in all niches OR give customers a free $5 sample to try us out, or some combination.

Now do me a favor.  Don't make me regret making this post.  Things change and change a lot. Even though deadlines have not been offered, if they were they would be not met. Dont complain this is not happening fast enough or not at all. This will not even be attempted until the product is where it needs to be.

+5% to this idea.

Just one comment to this, most of these porn users are not tech savvy and subscription to this is mostly less $5/mon, they probably prefer hassle free than a discount. Too early to target porn users because bitshares has no simple wallet and mobile wallet yet.

Why not target hosting sites first? the customers are webmasters, tech savvy and payment are all subscription.

just my 2 cents

Isn't BitShares more like a decentralized operating system (core software or KERNEL) and things like bitAssets/VOTE/keyID .. are DApps ontop of it?

or Decentralized System

What about those BTS in the Market pending orders? does it count? otherwise we need to cancel those orders before snapshot.

Yes, date format is too long.
Also, date is not sorting by date but rather by string.

If you do that then you are gambling your 20M bts and you should do it with a bot, because other bots that detect arbitrage opportunity will take advantage of this.

IMO, if you are not able to figure out using a bitcoin-style address, you should not be storing your money on your own computer or holding your own private key. I think using the public hash for your first transaction to a local wallet is a good barrier to entry to ensure that the people who actually use the full nodes are at least technically capable enough to understand things like back-ups, passwords, don't install toolbars etc.

Most complete noobs should only start out using a blockchain.info type of setup that also allows them to buy easily. Then they can register their name at the same time as they make their first buy.

I think the purpose of the topic is to make bitshares wallet user friendly for ordinary users/noobs.

The simplest is lend one account name for new registered user.
This lend account is not transferrable and private key is not viewable unless you pay a fee.

Not following you. Who registers the "lent account" and how does one "claim" it without funds?

Once new user downloaded the wallet and entered the password, it's a new user, the code detected this and give free new account name, it means it does not require a fee to register an account name, but there is a information message about registering an account name without a fee, it is limited access, it can only accept bts, to make it full access it need to pay a fee.

Who creates and records the "limited access" account and decides the code and how is it provided to the user? This must be recorded on the blockchain, which requires a fee.

It need hard fork for new lend limited account name.
The fee are coming from delegates commission, like another allocated % for this kind of lend account for new users.

Doesn't prevent spam account registration. One could drain the lend account with no cost.

Yes, there is always a bad actors, but this lend account name is not beneficial to them, because its function is only to accept bts, it's not included in the backup and private key is not viewable.
But still there are bad actors that might sabotage this, just like they might sabotage the blockchain.

The solution for easy new account solved this, the spam is different story. :)

Why not lend one account name for new registered user.
This lend account cannot transfer or private key is not viewable unless you pay a fee.

I don't trust at all this "alphaBar" guy and I don't think I'm the only one here, everyone should be extra careful when dealing with those "new" PTS of his. Unwillingness to identity himself says it all, I can bet that he is just trying to  pump the price of PTS after the snapshot so he can dump them at a good price. Also I can see some similarities in his "thinking" with another guy he had here in the forum, it might be just coincidence but I'm just saying...

Obviously +5%

Marketplace / Re: Give free bts to all bitcointalk users
« on: November 06, 2014, 03:34:24 am »

They may know about btsx, but they haven't necessarily created a wallet.  Once they do that, then they're a lot closer to using it as a currency.

Give-aways are no longer allowed on bitcointalk.  We couldn't give away the name registration fee for btsx and had to point people to a thread on here.

Security issues to prevent gaming the system make it harder than it may appear.

Only posting in bitcointalk for give-aways is not allowed, but this info can be posted in reddit/bitcoin (or related btc sites), then the users signature are the one will promote in bitcointalk

airdrop BTS to bitcointalk user is not a good way , it will give a  expression that BTS is cheap.
but I can created a thread in bitcointalk to spread what is BTS,  let more people know advantage of BTS,  what is TITAN , what is DPOS, what is peg , what is bitusd . etc

The point here is to make the new user try the bts wallet.
This is like bitcoin faucet site, but more generous (thus it has requirements to claim)
