I'm confused by the reaction. OP asked a legit question in a very professional manner.

You're welcome. I only know this because I listened to it an hour ago. :)

I'd recommend reviewing Bytemaster's latest mumble session, he talked about wallets in detail.

I believe that this was posted to the BM blog on Dec 18th. I assume that BM sent it to Coinbase shortly afterwards.
Be interesting t hear their feedback.

It wasn't clear to me if it was already sent. If so, could we please changed the OP title to CLOSED?

General Discussion / Re: Hiring Delegate Request
« on: December 28, 2014, 04:12:33 am »
I think Toast was saying that the delegate would be better off just pooling money to hire someone.  Hiring someone to find talent doesn't seem very useful.  We'd be better off getting 2 delegates put together and have a referral bonus as step 1.

We basically need more infrastructure to maximize value being taken out of the blockchain to hire real talent.  And I am not saying $100k a year, but this is a crucial time where we need to ramp up.  PC explained the problem quite well.  I would suggest anyone read his post in the other thread.

People might consider the idea of caps on these delegates in addition to the idea of 'backpay' but that would be asking an awful lot of anonymous voters.

Even a 5% delegate that handled things like position descriptions, coordinating needs with development and handling Bitcoin conferences would be beneficial.  I like the idea of pooling money... anyone coordinating that effort? My case for a delegate.

Too much reliance on hoping somebody runs with it. We saw that approach in marketing and we ultimately saw where that lead us. Just my thought, I'm not married to it one way or another.

I don't think we need a dedicated recruitment delegate. The real problem with finding talent is that we can't offer them a real job anymore! Delegate positions don't cut it and I3 is out of money. We can only do contract work where a payroll delegate can set aside a $$ value.

(I'm happy to continue recruiting - my recruitment history includes vikram, agent86, drltc, and now zach lym for a trial).

First, thank you for your continued push to recruit talent. Kick ass Toast. The second part is inconsistent from what I heard in BM's latest mumble.

-recruitment is our top priority
-we are only using 10 percent of budget
- we need additional development talent
- gateway engineers are needed immediately
-if you need more than 1 delegate, propose it

I'd love to see a delegate that's focused strictly on bringing in talent to BitShares.

"Our top priority is to recruit talent and getting that talent hired by the Blockchain" - Bytemaster in recent Mumble Session

It is Public domain

Cheers!

Posted here.

We could use some db experts to help in the thread.

General Discussion / Re: New BTS client date?
« on: December 28, 2014, 02:16:39 am »
What happened was an unexpected security issue and bugs that resulted from the fix.   We lost a week there.

What happened is what always does with software.

So before protocol 1.0 is ready we need to fix these security issues, and implement the new UIA rules to allow AML/KYC compliant fiat gateways.

Nothing else, right?

I have the same question. What is the absolute minimum things that need to be finished before we have 1.0?

But only after 1.0?

Maybe it's just my perception, I'm getting nervious about feature creep. What's the absolute minimum things that need to be done to lock down a 1.0 and get the focus on gateways and lightweight clients?

Round and round we go. Would love to see each person make a proposal on how they would like to see it improved moving forward and move on to actually promoting BitShares. Love the passion, would have liked to see more of it when Gamey posted his taskforces.

Since i have found nubits i can sleep again. i have 50 % btc and 50 % nubits and it's always the same in usd. and if btc is rising or falling like an idiot so i sell or by some btc or nubits. And it works. Hope both btc and nubits live long.

Too much time wasted in this community worrying about other villages.  I wish Nubits all the best, my focus is BTS and bitUSD.

Any additional thoughts? This is such an important topic as we reach out to different gateways.
