General Discussion / Re: What's your HODL list?

Btc eth ltc sys(syscoin)

you are very conservative with your choices. what's separates syscoin from the flock in your mind?
Safe over sorry. Syscoin provides a set of services on top of bitcoin including decentralized marketplace, aliases, certificates, encypted messaging and integrated escrow. It also will feature dynamic inflation deflation base on the use of these services to be the first currency that classifies as ideal money by john nash.

This builds ontop of devcoin which you were a part of so you would understand what I mean.

Yes with syscoin we lost 850 btc to a scammer who did ipo escrow.. We used the tool to sue him and there is a case going on in the uk to recover the coins, although he was pretty stupid and didnt mix.

64
Do you think he sent to an exchange? they would meed to monitor the chain for your coins which through a mixer may become impossible. Are the coins on one address right now?

Btc? $200ish

I have a tool that can do analysis on the chain to find where the funds ended up and originated from but im not sure you can really know who owns that address, unless you ask exchanges if they own any of them.

If I recall correctly the inventory was needed because many established dealers won't ship small quantities of PM. Min order size was much larger than the expected order size on Cryptosmith.
To make any real margin you had to buy wholesale

Well just do the public shunning thing and move on.

It is bizarre to me he was given 50k.  It is a low margin business, but it also means that there is little saved by buy purchasing wholesale.  You're basically just becoming a gambler with a lot of inventory if you can't rapidly turn it over.  At least the inventory doesn't depreciate I guess.  I wonder what his spiel was.... hustlers and their game are endlessly fascinating to me.
I had to change the prestashop price updater in the core because it only updated every few days while we needed realtime pricing so i based it off of the median price in bitshares which worked well. Did a nice ticker scrolling asset prices at the top as well.
I made it dropshippable by sending out an dhtml designed email upon order completion of a bitshares payment which sent the wholesaler the address of thr customer to ship to, so inventory doesnt even need to be held.

General Discussion / Re: Question about BTS2.0 code?

Looks like its creating copies of objects everywhere.. Why no const references?

Because these API calls are called with newly constructed objects.  No extra copies are made.  Also string is copy on write or small string optimized.

What about the string that is copied upon each call to "set_desired_witness_and_committee_member_count" for example? This should be a const & for strictness and performance reasons. Just an example, it should extend to any params.

With this design it's invoking the copy constructor instead of allocating memory directly into the object space of the variable you need. 1 Extra copy is made and cleaned up by the garbage collector every time. The string's that are passed by value are creating copies every time needlessly?

its bottoming out soon dont worry  :P

No its not. Bitcoin is designed to be unprofitable. It will continue to slide. All the merchant adoption only adds to the selling pressure. Bitcoin is a victim of its own success. Its time for people to understand what you can actually do with a blockchain.

good, one less annoying person to worry about around here.

As linked from the whitepaper

For anyone without access to youtube, or that doesn't want to click and watch for 20 seconds.  This is a video of Michael Hayden saying that the USG kills people based on metadata.

And their families wouldn't stand up and tell the world that they had no proof? I don't think that anything that not proving that someone did or said something woudl be used to get rid of people even for the power monger USG.

I think encryption is all that is needed.. They will know you send messages but cannot prove what you say and that is all that matters. Analyzing more and trying to prove more is a waste of resources imo.

Nope.

Just talked with Underwood last night.

He said he'd stop by to say "hi" in a few days when he gets his current hot focus task finished.

How many times does this fool get to fling disgusting language and slander at one of our founders before he gets either censored or banned from the forum? It is a disgrace.
He should be banned
