Technical Support / The DAC launch checklist
« on: June 06, 2015, 09:54:50 am »
Is there another checklist "step 1 do this, step 2 do that" available besides this thing?
https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/wiki/DAC-Launch-Checklist

That one is for coders (sort of), but I can't find an actual checklist that the general public could follow.
Please and thanx for any direction on this... :)

General Discussion / Voice & Exit
« on: June 06, 2015, 09:34:48 am »
I've identified (thanx Jeff! (https://youtu.be/vTNs8RYgMVU)) a pretty remarkable venue for either advertising BitShares, Speaking at the event, or both.

It's too late to Partner with V&E this year, but we could at least leverage their audience through their regular marketing. This is the educated, "awake" demographic that will love what we do here at BitShares.

IMO, this beats TED Talks and SXSW: http://VoiceAndExit.com

I have already contacted them and we're working out my RFP now.
Should/could we fundraise the money to Partner with V&E?

General Discussion / Roger Ver vs OKcoin - The saga continues..

Roger Ver:
"Former @OKCoinBTC CTO just publicly exposed them for fraud, market manipulation, fake audits, lying, forgery & more!"

BitShares community, please give a warm welcome to Will Thomas.

Will is the Founder of CryptoMate, a UK-based cryptocurrency Gateway which allows almost anyone with a bank account to buy cryptocurrencies directly. Will is a 14+ year IT and marketing guy with a passion for economic empowerment, politics, science and technology. He also Founded BritCoin, an altcoin which gave him a world of experience in the cryptocurrency space. Allen Scott (@ The CoinTelegraph) published a beautiful writeup on CryptoMate last week too!

Using the UK Banking Initiative "Faster Payments" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faster_Payments_Service), just about anyone can now buy cryptocurrencies with their bank account directly, in just a couple of hours!

Will's Question:
Right now Cryptomate is a registered company with 3 directors each with a certain % in shares, once version 2.0 is launched (the peer-2-peer exchange platform) and is operational, we will be paying out shareholders automatically every 24 hours in BTC based on their % share of the company.  Since we don't accept any FIAT (buyers send directly to sellers/vendors) and the service generates revenue in BTC through fees, we were thinking of selling shares through crowd funding where investors get a % shares in the company and the daily profit pay-outs.

https://CryptoMate.co.uk

This would be a great opportunity for Will to form a DAC and utilize UIA's for this funding, yes? Once CryptoMate v2.0 is released, I think this would also be a great money-maker for CryptoMate to offer market-pegged, low-volatility BitAssets like bitUSD, bitCNY and bitGOLD as well.

Let me know your thoughts guys and please give Will a warm welcome! 8)

Craziness:
https://en.bitcoin.it
https://bitcointalk.org
Even https://bitcoin.com redirects to blockchain.info now (this was a Roger Ver issue tho I think)

I'm thinking something nefarious may be at work here, or?

Another "decentralized" exchange hits CoinTelegraph, am looking for an upvote to his writeup:

I need to know about every DPOS-based company out there like the BitShares DAC. Companies that are decentralized like us and use DPOS.

If there isn't a formal list yet, can you name the DPOS companies here that you know of?
We're building something for BitShares that is pretty big, but part of this business plan requires a list of all the dpos platforms and companies, etc. Other companies that have (voted-in) delegates (and hopefully soon dpos2.0).

Please and thanx for any that you can name here...

Technical Support / UIA questions
« on: May 24, 2015, 07:45:36 pm »
1. Are UIA's going to change with the release of BitAssets 2.0/3.0? If so, what will be changed?

2. Could I use a UIA to hold my subscribers/depositors (a site I'm working on for BitShares) monthly dues? This way those dues create liquidity for the UIA.

3. Could the UIA pay rewards to those depositors/subscribers?

4. Will the UIA pay its holders (those who trade it) some Yield like a typical BitAsset?

5. What will a 5 character symbol (letters only) cost?

6. Living in (and issuing from) Germany, what sort of legal things should I do before I create the UIA? Then, before the UIA issues Yield or rewards?

7. I'd like the UIA to somehow pay an employee of our Munich DAC. Possible?

I need to make sure I do this properly. This DAC is going to generate a LOT of fees for the BitShares DAC and bring a LOT of investment, so I need to make sure I'm doing this right.

Please and thanx guys for any help with this you can provide :)

I'm seeing this "funny" trend..
1) Paypal starts accepting Bitcoin and it barely bumps the btc price.

2) Ripple Labs raises $28 MILLION and their share price only bumps up for about 22 hours.
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ripple/#charts

3) The top 15 on CoinMarketCap, overlaid, follow each others 7-day VERY closely.

4) Pumpndump rallies never seem to last more than 36 hours.

So, for global growth it all comes down to this:
A) Which companies have the most robust product line?
B) Which companies employ the most experienced, driven, and accountable staff?
C) Which companies have the best image?
D) Which companies generate profit and do not need VC control?
E) Which companies are attracting mass media and Whales' attention?
